This was the first mascara I bought, a few months back. I love it! Although it doesn't lengthen or volumize my lashes, it does a great job at making them look THICKER. That it what I look for in mascara. I have the dark brown one, it just makes my lashes look thicker. VERY NATURAL looking eyelashes come out of using this product. I really like the wand, I like the formula, and I find that it NEVER clumps on my lashes. Love this mascara!

Okay... for the life of me I can't figure out why this product is often considered a cult favorite. This mascara has been around so long and on so many best mascara's list. I thought this was a no brainer when I bought it, thinking it would have to work. But in my opinion Maybelline has much better mascara's then this. No matter how I tried to apply this (wiggling the wand, blinking through, etc.) it just would not make my lashes bigger. And it clumped like hell also.
I hate this mascara. Probably one of the worst that I've tried. I don't like the packaging, I don't like the wand, I don't like the texture of the mascara, I don't like how it applies I just think it's awful. It weighs down my eyelashes, gives me no volume or length or ANYTHING! I love maybelline mascaras but this was a let down.

I personally really like this mascara. It coats every lash and volumes and lengthens, giving a fuller look. I personally believe that your lashes should be curled to achieve the great lash look. When I first purchase this product I really disliked it as most people do, until I tried it again. I would recommend this mascara to those who have naturally curly lashes.
Okay, first off, I don't like the brush, it really clumps my lashes and doesn't do a good job of lengthening my lashes. However, I've found that when I wet my lashes with water before applying the mascara, it doesn't clump nearly as much, and my lashes look a whole lot better. So a tip for those who are having some clumping with this mascara: Make your lashes slightly damp with some water before applying this.
I was completely shocked when I saw all of the horrible reviews this mascara got!!! Out of all the mascara's I've tried this is my absolute favorite!!! It gives me great length and volume on my lashes, it doesn't clump up when I'm applying it. It doesn't flake off in the middle of the day, and even though it's not waterproof it has NEVER smudged down under my eyes, even after gym class.
Pros:
Long lasting
Doesn't clump your lashes
Adds volume
Adds LOTS of length
Cons:
the packaging feels more suited for a larger brush. Sometimes the small brush hits sides of the rim when you pull the wand out and it gets a little messy around the top of the rim.
Would I recommend this: absolutely. Its cheap and better than MAC's Zoom Lash, and their Plush Lash Mascara.
Rubbish! Doesn't coat my lashes well at all a complete disappointment. I don't recommend at all. Plenty of other budget mascaras that do a much better job.
Generally I am a big fan of Maybelline mascaras, but I don't get the hype on this one. I think it's the brush I dislike. The bristles on the brush are just too far apart to comb out clumps. Instead of emphasizing each lash, you get a bunch of pointy spiked out lashes that are all stuck together. I just swapped out the brush for an old The Colossal brush and it worked fine, just looked stupid in my makeup bag. I think that the reason Maybelline keeps Great Lash around is because it was popular when it first came out and has retained quite a following. I can remember my mom and aunts using this in the 80's because I recognize the pink and green tube.
For $6, you get what you pay for with this mascara. It did a good job of separating my lashes, but it didn't add much volume. It's a good everyday mascara because it gives you that wide-eyed look, but if you're looking for thick, voluminous lashes, this isn't for you. It doesn't clump much although I do have to use several coats to get the desired effect.
