I've been using the powder since last summer, but recently stop cause the sun is not too strong now. I like the protection and the ingredients. I color is not great, I use sp 40 color, it looks darker in compact but becomes lighter when applied on the face. The colors look ashy to me, I went back to shiseido later to try on different colors, I tried sp 60, which is probably more match for me in the summer, but I still think the color looks ashy, it's seem like it doesn't really brighten your face like other regular powder, probably because of the sunscreen. I probably would only use this now if I'm expose to the sun for a long period of time, I wouldn't use it regularly since I don't like that it make my face look ashy or that it doesn't really match my skintone well. My nc 35 by the way in Mac Fix.

I didn't like this foundation at first because it looked very cakey. I decided to give it one more try and used my brush to apply instead of the sponge. I love the effect! People commented that my skin was glowing. Give it some time to set and it will give you a flawless look.
If you don't have time to wait for it to set, spritz some mac charged water and it looks so great! My pores are less obvious and evens out my skin. I also like the fact that it has a high SPF content and it didn't break me out. This is a good product.

Best powder foundation I have ever purchased hands down.... the staying power of this foundation is fantastic and it goes on so beautifully....the only thing I wish they would improve on is the color selection... it does not accentuate pores and fine lines...lasts all day and is not effected by sebum on the skin.... and the plus is that it has a high spf, what more could you ask for?.... I also seem to have a problem with bismuth oxychloride making me itch when I sweat, this foundation does not contain it which is a plus for anyone who is sensitive to it...
I am NW20-25 (neutral imo) and I wear SP40 in this powder. This is a med/full coverage powder w/ spf 34+++ in it. This was a rec from another MUA who has same skin as I. Great rec by the way! My skin is oily & combo/oily in winter. This has great staying powder and does help w/ the oilies. I like to use this on top of my Clinique Sheer Moisture TM and it makes a lovely natural looking face. I only need to reapply once throughout the day, which is great considering how oily I am. I use my MAC 187 brush to apply this powder and I feel I don't go through the product near as fast when using this brush. I would definitely recommend to ppl w/ oily, combo/oily skin types!! Another plus is I am sensitive to a lot of powder but have had zero problems with this one. continued >>

I LOVE THIS COMPACT and I cannot believe I finally love a powder compact. Finally!
I live in Los Angeles, CA and the sun is sooooooooooo strong. I mean it feels like a heat lamp seriously. So I figured I need some serious sunblock and I remembered my mom used this and viola I have it.
And I AM NOT BREAKING OUT yes I said it with my oily acne prone skin I cannot believe I must say again I AM NOT BREAKING OUT!!
and everything makes me break out.
I hope this stays like it is because this is now my HG!!!
I love it so much:
it protects from sun
no break outs
full coverage
at first when I put it on it looks a little cakey but that settles in 30 min
and can reapply sun block without washing face every few hours.
the colors are a pain in matching but I rather have sun protection than the perfect color!
Edit|. Now I am in the humid south and after one hour I look like an oil slick, so for me this is better in dryer climates.

This product has its pros and cons. Even I as a Shiseido fanatic found issues with the product.
Pros: The SPF UVA/UVB aspect is awesome. It sticks on your face as if its a transfer resistant foundation. It gives medium to sheer coverage.
Cons: The color selection is horrible, limited and doesn't exactly translate throughout Shiseido's other colors. For example, 60 in Shiseido's other compact foundation isn't the same in this line. Its lighter and ashier. Its not so cool if you're African American because its really ashy looking.
I had to return this foundation because in order for the color 60 to work on me, I had to wear their tinted moisturizer under it. However, because I liked the way it didn't budge off my face I am willing to give it another chance once I am less dark in the winter time.
The only bad part about this foundation is if you are oily, it will look very dewy and almost oily on. I suggest for those to look at Shiseido's Pureness skincare line for their Toner/Softener. It controls oil really well and might make the application of this foundation more bearable.

Ok I am trying to figure this stuff out. I've read other reviews and supposedly it controls oil for other people but not me. I'm blotting this stuff a 1/2 hour after applying it and continuously after that. I like the finish, the color range sucks but I am using 70 since I'm tan and it's working for me. But it has done nothing for my oilies, and I have to reapply it throughout the day carefully so it doesn't cake. I'm also noticing little white pustules here and there which I didn't get before using this. Looks like I'm leaning more towards returning this. I think I can find something cheaper with better oil control/wear. Dang I was so hopeful too.....
I bought this product because of the high SPF content (34). I am a golfer and love the outdoors, and all the other SPF powders I tried still left my face burnt (even with re-application). This stuff, when paired with a SPF15 base, is wonderful! I use it like a face powder: I apply it all over my face with a big, fluffy brush. I also have oily skin, and it works well to combat the greasies. As with every foundation/powder, I do have to blot mid-day, but I have come to accept this as a fact of my life. I never have to worry about burning my face wearing this, and I always re-apply if I am sweating.

i had a lot of hope when i got this product...i got the lightest shade. i really wanted to like it bc my mom spent a lot on it and bc she uses it religiously. however, it was way too pink. like...if i apply it near a window i can see my face turning pinker and pinker. it accentuates flakes and stuff if your skin is dry...it doesn't even provide much coverage. cover girl aquasmooth is so much better and it comes with SPF AND it's much cheaper.
Although I am a convert of Clinique's Almost Powder SPF, I also use Shiseido's Sun Protection Compact Foundation on really bright, sunny, and hot days (l currently live in Arizona). What I like about the foundation is that it has a very high SPF of 34 which protects against UVA & UVB rays. The foundation can be worn both wet or dry depending upon coverage preference. The finish is a nice and matte color and is perfect for my olive gold skin tone (SP70). Also, the color did not change colors or become gross as the day wore on. I definitely recommend this for any extended stay outdoors along w/a moisturizer w/sunscreen underneath. continued >>
