It's fruity, but not in a watermelon or overly sweet way.
It used to give me a headache, but not anymore.
The only time I apply it is on warm Summer mornings and I spray it on my skirt. I have a small bottle of the edp and cannot say how it differs from the edt as I have never tested them together. Champs Elysee is light, fresh, warm...just like a Summer morning in fact ;-) And if by noon I cannot smell it any longer, I don't mind at all.

This is a truly amazing floral and like many of the older Guerlain scents seems to evoke a lot of emotions in me. It is incredibly innocent and demure, yet sophisticated at the same time. I will not go through all the floral notes. This goes on a bright, light, cheerful floral that on me intensified without changing. It got more and more and more flowery even increasing at 6 hours. While I do not think I would reach for it frequently, now that I have tried it, my scent wardrobe feels somewhat lacking without it. I think it would be best for warmer months, but certainly wearable by anyone of any age for any occasion. It is not overtly sexy, it is however, unapologetically feminine, your boyfriend would never wear this unless he was secretly wearing your underwear too! Incredibly well executed and what I like most about it (despite my admiration for Guerlain) is that it seems to avoid the drydown of "guerlinade" which I often find flat, sweet and rather uninspired. I have to say this is a masterpiece. The fact that I'm not totally in love with it yet feel I must own it says something about Guerlain's ability to inspire. 20 lashes with a tester strip for me, I didn't notice if I tried the EdP or EdT in a rush and all. . . . sorry. Wish I tried this BEFORE I bought the 100 ml of L'instant EDP. Darn!

This was a perfume gift from my boyfriend. I have loved it for years and never bought a bottle, it's hard to find. It smells like Spring time in France. Like mimosa, a delicate flower. It's not too intense on floral notes or harsh. It doesn't give me headaches, but I don't spray alot of it. I have the 3.4 oz EDT spray. I think it's going to last me forever. I think the bottle is elegant and will keep it when it's empty. It's a signature perfume to me. Most women who wear it, wear it for special events or when they want something chic and feminine. It's comfortable to wear, I never feel like I would offend anyone by wearing it. It's a joy to wear. Tania Sanchez gave it a horrible review... but then again I don't like anything that she raves about in her book. It was a let down, I didn't buy it simply because of the rude remarks for Champs Elysees. Think she needs to tone it down and give constructive criticism from now on. It has a special place in my heart and memories. I'd never walk away from it. Update: I'm still wearing this year round. I haven't found an event or time of the day where it's not appropriate. This is golden, softly floral, woodsy, and sometimes powdery... that's the mimosa in a different temperature! Depending on the weather, this one changes like a chameleon. Like a Spring dress turning into a cashmere sweater. I've learned that fragrance has to be worn and tested in all weather because they vary greatly.
A pure and gentle sparkling floral fragrance with top notes that whisper of delicate rose petals, mimosa leaves and almond blossoms enveloped by buddleia and mimosa blossoms on a soft base of almond wood and hibiscus seed.

OK, I give in, you've got me Champs Elysees! I don't like florals so I'm not sure what made me order CE unsniffed (probably reviews on MUA and the fact that I found it pretty cheap online), but I'm glad I did! Unlike most florals on me, CE isn't sharp and harsh. It's sweet without being foody, fresh without being abrasive, and unlike anything I have ever worn. I have the EDT and the lasting power is excellent, as good as an EDP. The sillage is great too, people definitely notice CE but not in a "What's that perfume?" way, I get more of a "Something smells amazing!" reaction. I see CE in my fragrance wardrobe for a long time to come :)

VERY, VERY pretty & VERY, VERY French. I can't wear most florals, but this & Burberry Weekend are probably the only two in the category that I can pull off & that don't give me a nasty headache. The only gripe I have about CE is the rather soapy smelling (albeit that of a very expensive French soap) drydown. Really wish that delightful tart, blackcurrant note I smell from the bottle & which I get at the first spritz lasted till the very end instead of disappearing after 10 minutes, which IS quite disappointing. If it had been fruitier at the base, this would've been a perfect fragrance. I also don't get the vanilla in the base, just the wood, which is weird since it's listed as a base note on the Guerlain website (or is the EDP formulation different than the EDT? Does anyone know? I'm using the EDT, by the way). Having said that, the sillage is gorgeous & the lasting power is impressive, even for the EDT. Not sure whether I would repurchase once my one & only bottle from 2005 is empty (as there are many other perfumes I love more), but if I was given another bottle as a gift someday, I certainly wouldn't turn it down. ;) continued >>

Great, nice clean scent. This is the only fragrance I wear and always get compliments from everyone. It's not over bearing nor offensive. My HG scent. It's hard to find, but you can get a good deal at beautyencounter...
One of my favorites. Kind of strong when first applied, but transforms into a lovely, subtle scent upon drydown. Very long lasting. Smells like mimosa and tuberose to me.
I love Champs Elysees. It feels so sophisticated, so French. It is sweey but not foody, clean but lacking citrus or marine notes (which always give me a headache). When I first got it I thought it was perhaps too demure but I have been wearing it lately and it always seems to fit. I think it's because it melts right into my skin, I never feel like I am engulfed in a cloud of perfume but I do smell it subtly throughout the day (lasting power is very good), just a fresh, slightly sweet, exceptionally pretty scent that is not little girly at all. It might not be overtly sexy but it is sexy in the way it becomes a part of you. I got mine online for a fraction of what you would pay in the store so I think it's a very good deal!

Everytime I go out with a guy or someone who gets nearby me, i receive compliments on my parfum. Particularly of men.
So highly recommended.
This is a NICE perfume. It is special because it completely lacks seductiveness and sexyness. That is so refreshing today when every single new release claims to be "sensual." This is pretty, bubbly, fun, light and sunny. It's Girly. In a way girls used to be girly before they were brainwashed to think that girly means lolita-like sexy. I do like seductive, sensual and sexy perfumes. But it is nice and refreshing to smell something that isn't.
