love the formula for this mascara. Never gave me raccoon eyes, stayed on all day, and gives such a natural look.I love the brush but hate the flexible wand.

Everyone has been hating on this mascara like crazy. I found a secret to make it work. Since it is lightweight and doesn't clump, it works very well right after you curl your lashes. Apply 2 coats, then later a more volumizing mascara over it. I use the loreal collagen mascara and the results last all day with no smudging! I often get asked if I'm wearing falsies.

Eh...not that great. The first thing you need to know about this mascara is that IT IS NOT VOLUMIZING!!!
If you are looking for something to volumize and plump up your lashes...keep looking ladies! My lashes are already long so this mascara made them look long and dark...but that's about it.
This product is fine for the office, or for just going out shopping on the weekends, or for just hanging around the house. This is NOT a mascara that you would use if you want "Va Va Va Voom, Bada Bing Bang Boom, Zooma Zooma Zoom ” lashes. You know, the kind you want when you go out clubbing, or when you and your girl gang posse head to Vegas ready to go off the rails and hoping against hope to run into a drunk-as-a-skunk Prince Harry ,or for when your hubby/-S.O/.flavor-of-the-month/whatever takes you to Paris for a romantic trip of a lifetime. In all of these instances ladies, you are expected to step up your game girl, pull out all the stops and get your GLAM on. This little ditty, I'm afraid, will underwhelm you.
I'm not going to chuck this however; it is still usable if I layer it with a more volumizing mascara. Sometimes the best results I get are when I layer two or three mascaras together.
The good news about this mascara is that it does not clump, flake or smear. I also love the packaging! The turquoise colored bottle is adorable. Maybelline is really stepping up their packaging game recently, but this has no business being called “Volum’ Express”.

I am pretty satisfied with this mascara. It adds a little length and a little volume (really, not much), but the best part is, it stays on all day without smudging--very unusual for me. It's also easy to remove with waterproof eye makeup remover. I wish it added a bit more volume, because my lashes are a little sparse, but I can live with it. I think I will try a couple more coats to see if that helps. I am just thankful it doesn't clump like the last (very expensive, much-hyped) mascara I bought.

I personally really like this, I bought it because the packaging was very appealing to me and the commercials really drew me in. Even though this mascara is nothing like the commercial it still works pretty well. My lashes are soft, as promised, I don't have any clumps and they are fairly long but I expected them to flare out a little more. I do like this product but the downsides are that it wouldn't last through the Titanic and it smudges easily. Deffinately not the strongest waterproof mascara but it is very light.
SOOOO...after reading tons and tons of raaaave reviews about this mascara (and being totally intrigued by the thought of a mousse mascara), I purchased this. I have used it alot of different ways, since I don't normally ever use any mascara alone. I haven't been able to find a place for it in my mascara routine.
I went ahead and took pics to compare it to Falsies Flared (my main HG go to mascara), and I feel like it really outlines why this mascara falls flat. It goes give a bit of volume, but not what I expect given that its from the same Volume Express line. I like ALOT of volume and ALOT of ooomph in my lashes.
I would think that it would work if you have a really full, naturally long lash to begin with. Mine are are medium length, and pretty fine and fair. I really wanted to love it, the bottle it so cute! I have seen a few comments about the wand, and I love the cuts in the stick. I feel like it helps when I am putting it on...although I can see why it would be annoying. I assure you though, that it isn't going to break. The Falsies wand had the same design, and I have been using it forever.

I got this in black brown and it really let me down. Instead of having a light formula it was very thick and clumpy. Also, the wand is very unstable because it bends halfway through. Unless you want clumpy and goopy lashes, don't buy this.
Omg I'm in love with this product. It's light and sure it does take a couple coats to get the result you want. Its really waterproof. Like most waterproof mascaras i go in water and my curl goes back to my stick straight eyelashes. But with this mascara even in water my curl stayed and the mascara only slightly smudged. My new HG <3. It is slightly expensive for a drugstore mascara but its well worth the price, defiantly. This mascara looked sort of flaky at first though. It didnt leave my lashes looking "shiny:" like my other ones did. I dont really care about that though. People seriously ask me if i wear fake eyelashes. This is amazing for people who curl their eyelashes. IN love <3
I would seriously recommend this :D continued >>
A huge no, gave my eyes irritation so they got so itchy and watery.
My lashes weren't expressed at all.
I generally like Maybelline mascaras, overall, but they all seem to have just one tragic flaw that keeps me from absolutely loving them. This mascara's major problem is that I can't seem to build any volume whatsoever. I layered, and layered, and layered, and all I got were long, skinny lashes. I get great color, great length, good hold for curl, not clumpy.
I'm not generally a fan of WP mascara, they always seemed to irritate my eyes when I wore them as a teen. Maybe because I was thinking about it all the time and/or touching or rubbing at them. It's entirely possible that it was just me. I purchased this for a wedding that may result in water works, and so far it seems to be holding up quite well with no irritation, smudging, flaking, etc. A+ for that.
The brush on this is a little funky, it's bendy and the bristles are kind of in a triangular shape, but it took a half a second of looking at it and worked pretty much the same as any other brush with bristles all around it. Weird, but not bothersome or a deal breaker by any means.
This mascara has great potential, and I'll likely purchase again, but I'm going to try layering it with another to see if I can get some more volume. My lashes look decent with it as is, but would look a lot better if they were fuller.
Price was good, I got it on sale at Shoppers for $4.99 CND, but it's regularly $7 at Walmart, which still isn't too bad.
