A smart mascara indeed! Natural looks will be best complemented with this mascara, as will days when all you need is a nice, defined, long pretty lash. The consistency of the mascara is very clean and slightly wet, although it dries so quickly. Does not fall apart or clump badly when I recurl my lashes, and I love how it has Amazonian Clay in the formula.

Love this mascara. The color is the blackest black. The brush defines nicely and gives glossy, long, separated lashes. I have nothing bad to say about this product. I've had no issue of flaking or smudging. I also love how my eyelashes don't feel hard or crunchy after using this!

THE BEST mascara. I love it. It does not clump or rub off. Price isn't too expensive. I've tried MANY different mascaras, but will always be true to this one. Perfect for me.

I have long lashes and I like this mascara mainly because of the brush. It separates my lashes and makes them defined without any of the frills of volumizing or lengthening. Gives me a very natural, but put together look. I have very oily skin so it does smudge a little but under my eyes, but nothing terrible. The formula is generally good and not too wet. Overall, I think it is a great everyday mascara.

After demolishing two tubes of this mascara, I think I'm ready to write my review :P I am sooooo happy this mascara was recommended to me. I have naturally long lashes that look absolutely flawless with this mascara. I am always complimented when I use it & asked if I'm wearing fakes. The price is a little intimidating, but I'm pretty happy with this mascara, so I dish over the dough. My only small complaint is that the brush is just a tad too big for my personal liking. continued >>

This is a nice everyday mascara for work (if you don't have difficulty with mascara smudging). It does a good job of coating the lashes without them feeling heavy or chunky, and provides a nice wash of black color. It doesn't do anything majorly transformative (like curling, volumizing, etc) but it works for simple, natural makeup looks. I LOVE the packaging and the formula itself for natural days. I would re-purchase this product, even at the price, because I tend to go for more natural products over typical drugstore ones, and I like supporting a company with the kind of vision that Tarte has... but it definitely isn't my go-to mascara for smoky eyes or dramatic looks for evening.

Whenever anyone asks me for a mascara rec (which isn't often, but still...) I enthusiastically recommend this. It dries quickly, doesn't flake at all, separates well and provides the "my lashes but better" look that most people like for the daytime. I am fortunate that I have long, thick lashes without mascara but this goes a long way in defining them and making me look awake and polished. My complaint about this product is that I felt the packaging was fairly flimsy. It felt sturdy and looked good, but one day I somehow twisted it shut too hard and snapped off the top; I'm no body-builder, believe me. I was annoyed I had to toss a perfectly good (and somewhat pricey) product so this is an FYI to all you tough ladies out there. Be careful when closing the tube!

This mascara is so ridiculous. It's amazing, I don't even know what to say. I'm lucky my lashes are naturally long, but they're very thin and blonde. This mascara makes it look like I'm wearing false lashes. It gives such a noticeable increase in volume and length. Every single time I use this mascara people always comment on my lashes, how long they are, and asking if I'm wearing falsies, etc. It's amazing what just this mascara can do. I've used individual false lashes with this too, and the result is too dramatic, even for me. So if you like dramatic lashes, I can't recommend this mascara enough.

I love, love, love this mascara! Coming from a girl who likes to wear little to no makeup (very strange that I joined MUA right?), this mascara is glorious. I have straight, shortish medium length, decently dark lashes and this mascara makes them look gorgeous. Absolutely no clumps whatsoever, and while the mascara is a little bit natural looking as far as mascaras go, it's totally daytime appropriate and compliments the look I go for daily. It holds the curl that I get when I curl my lashes (I never skip curling them so I can't comment on the curl without an eyelash curler), and keeps the curl all day long. It has flaked on me before, but that is totally forgiven since I'm guilty of long days, oily eyelids, frequent tears and emotional outbursts (can't help it, I'm a crier), and occasionally touching/rubbing my eyes (oops). It does a decent job holding its own through tears, but smudges some since it's not waterproof. It's natural which I love, and have noticed a definite improvement in the length and strength of my lashes since switching from chemical-laden mascaras of my past. I love the brush on this mascara, it's the perfect size and separates amazingly. I have never found a mascara that I love this much.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews here! This mascara gad to be reviewed- I usually only review when I absolutely LOVE something or absolutely hate it... This I love. This is a wet formula, but not TOO wet to where it slides off or smudges... a little goes a long way- You can use the same mascara on the wand for both eyes and you'll have plenty. The color is black enough, and somewhat glossy even. It gives super long, separated lashes- NO clumps or spider lashes at ALL. It wears well without flaking. I've been impressed with both Tarte's mascaras- Lights, Camera, Lashes as well as this one :) I bought Hourglass mascara at the same time, and this is by far, a lot better- that one is clump-central and gives me spider lashes galore. Blah. UPDATE- The formula is kind of wet, which is nice because your lashes stay flexible and soft, but it takes a while to really DRY... If you apply two coats, I'd wait a bit before applying the second coat :)
