If you are like me and have fine hair, but a LOT of it, and want volume at the crown of your head without looking like you are wearing a "bumpit" or having that "teased tiara," then this is the product for you. I shake a little of the power at the crown of my head, at the roots, and then use my fingertips to "scrub" it back and forth lightly and voila, perfect volume. Having that volume at the crown can totally make a difference in how thick you hair looks, and can slim a fuller face. I do use a little bit of hairspray to hold it once I've got the look I want, but it remains workable (change your part, etc) until you spray it. Definitely recommend. And I've used the Aveda, this is just as good, at a FRACTION of the price.
I know some people love this so it must work for them, but it made my hair SO incredibly staticy. Like a little shake of this on top of my head made all of my hair suddenly cling to my face. It didn't add volume either.
I have long, very fine, straight hair, for reference. It is prone to static in general, but never as much as what I got when I used this.
This product is disappointing because it gives great expectations however it can not live up to theses.I felt it to be a good in the right profession but is hard to understand to an average person like me.
I personally would not buy the product however could be useful to others
Before purchase pleas be warned it is not worth the 4 pound I paid!!??
I bought this on a whim bc it was on sale. It made my soft, manageable hair sticky and staticky :( Maybe I'll give it another try in the summer when my hair isn't so dry.
I hate this product. I have long hair with no layers, so this thing does nothing to my hair. I believe it could work if your hair is shorter than mine. But my hair is too long and heavy for this. It doesn't give any volume, just texture. Really gross texture. It makes my hair look frizzy and feel very sticky. You can feel how sticky it is on your hands too. You can't brush out this product. You just have to wash it out with a shampoo. Though I have to warn you not to use any shampoo for damaged hair. Only those anti-dandruff or volume shampoos work on this nasty stuff. The only way I can use this product is after I curl my hair. It gives texture to the curls.
This is just what I was looking for. I don't like using other volumizing products because they leave my hair hard or wet. This is perfect! Great volume and texture. My only complaint is that it leaves your hands alittle sticky, but not bad enough to not buy it.
This powder is fantastic. Thanks to the reviews here I gave it a try. I never saw this product in any drugstore or haircare store except for a small independent beauty boutique in my neighborhood for $8.
I'm still experimenting w/how to best use this powder on my short bob hair (which wasn't really cut to my liking, so I'm generally not happy w/how the style comes out in the end), so I would imagine this would work even better for my hairstyle when my hair is cut right.
I apply this powder w/my hands as per the instructions, & whether I use 1 palmful or 3 palmfuls it never makes my hair matte, dull, pasty, or looking powdered - I love that. I'm glad it helps add soft texture & volume to my hair w/o dulling the shine of my natural hair which took so long to finally grow out.
Applying a little bit doesn't change the texture of my hair much, but the more I apply the more I can feel product in my hair - it gives strands a bit of a gritty texture so they can 'grab' & lift. Never feels stiff or pasted - a little gritty to comb through but not impossible (at least not for short hair). Allows my hair to hold into a pigtail w/o shorter strands falling out on the sides. I like the workability of this product.
Love this. I hope they never stop making it. If you've tried the Aveda Pure Abundance powder - this is the same concept, but works better and is 5x cheaper. I have very slippery/flyaway hair and this adds texture - something you can rarely get from shampoos and styling products. Without being tacky or greasy. My hair is transformed. I have one at work, one at home, one in my gym bag.
I have straight-slippery smooth Asian hair that often lies flat against my hair with no volume/body whatsoever. I hate that I have to spend extra time in the bathroom to 1) apply volumizing mousse 2)blow-dry my hair in certain direction with a certain round-brush and 3) tease tease tease! What an annoying process I've endured almost all my young adult life. I'm lucky to have heard of this product and actually be able to find it at a local drugstore for...wait for it... $3.99***!#*&^
It gives my hair texture, volume and keeps it fresh for longer. I apply it to newly washed hair, which is oh so difficult to work with, to give it a little friction. The way I use it is I pour a little bit into the palm of my hand and rub my palms together quickly then carefully work it all over my head--concentrating on the roots and crown. I now have 3 day old hair that doesn't feel greasy at all.
I love this product more than words can express. Thank you Got 2 Be!! continued >>
Great product! I was using Osis Dust It (also by Schwarzkopf) until I started hearing all the buzz about this product on MUA. This product is identical to Osis, and costs less than a third of the price!! I sprinkle this directly on my hair, around the crown, then I tease a little and have amazing volume all day. I have thin fine hair that looks greasy just one day after washing, but I just use a little of this and no more greasies. All thin haired girls should try this product.
