I have owned this spray and the Skindinavia Bridal Spray. Skindinavia makes these sprays for Urban Decay. It took me a few times to get the right steps. After moisturizing - I use the spray. If I spray too much I just pat it into my skin. At this point you can use a primer but I do not always use one. I use the Naked Skin Foundation and I set with powder. For foundation - I actually spritz this onto my flat top foundation brush and stipple the foundation. I end up using less foundation and my brushes are less icky. After applying all my make up except mascara - I spray again. I don't know why but using all three ways have made my make up look less cakey and more natural while keeping the oilies at bay. Even after humidity and sweat - my make up is still on. I don't believe there is any HG product that keeps the oilies at bay perfectly for anyone. The product work great for what it is - its just time consuming to get the full effect.

Fortunately, I didn't have to buy this product in the first place -- it was part of a "Mystery Sample Bag" from Sephora. But in judging from the few times I've used it so far (it is a deluxe-sized sample, so I still have more), and the research I've done on it, it is definitely overpriced for what it claims to do, which is not a whole lot. It is refreshing and seems to "set" your makeup for MAYBE 2 hours max (I use just a bit of concealer over problem areas and powder). After a few hours, I'm shiny again. And to be completely objective and fair, I did not use my usual primer cream (I like Smashbox, Clarins, and even better -- L'Oreal). I do see the appeal of a light, refreshing spray over the creams, so I'd say it's a decent attempt at a different type of formulation. It doesn't have any fragrance to speak of, and seems just fine for sensitive skin. Perhaps it might work well for dryer skin types, but definitely not for this oily face -- I'll stick with what I know works for more than just a couple of hours! The three I've mentioned above are, IMHO, the best out there. Even Benefit has a few which are decent. My personal favorite (based solely on cost and effectiveness) is the L'Oreal Magic Base Primer. Smashbox just plain works, and the Clarins formula has antioxidants in it, which is an added bonus.

Absolutely useless! I have very oily skin and even when it's more combination, this does nothing for it. All you can expect is for it to take away the powdery look.
Be careful not to spray on too much -- I did some extra sprays a day ago hoping it would help with my make-up lasting power/oil-control and holy crap, this made me oxidize! It was so sad because I went Black Friday shopping and I was orange for several hours :(
This made me remember something similar that happened last week -- I sprayed more than usual with a different foundation and had the same oxidation issue.

if this was the all nighter i would probably gave this a five but this supposed to keep ur face matt. well it didnt for me unfortunately. it did keep makeup last long but i couldve goten all nighter for that :( also i wish the spray can comeout continuously as you press it and not just come out once but its ok. tbh i wouldnt get this anymore. doesnt do what it claims to for me

PROS:
-Oil Control! --> I have super oily skin and at first when I used this I didn't really notice a big difference. However, after using it for a few weeks, there was one day that I forgot to use it and I noticed a HUGE difference. My skin got really oily really fast. It doesn't completely take all the oil away but it does help. I spray it 3-4 times before putting makeup on, and then again afterwards.
-Sets makeup. --> I noticed that my make up stays on longer when using this. Of course it doesn't last forever but it does help the staying power.

CONS:
-very pricey for my taste. I bought mine on sale at Hautelook.com but I believe the original price for 6 floz. is $29.99. If you are willing to wait for it on Hautelook I think I bought it for about $17.00.

Um, yeah. This stuff is horrible. It leaves splotchy looking marks on my face. I've tried everything to stop this. I've shaken it. I've not shaken it. I've applied two squirts. I've applied one squirt. I've applied three squirts. ...From close and far away. Before makeup and after. I'm done trying. It is going in the trash and I will not buy this again. Ever. What a waste!

I was really iffy on deciding whether or not I should purchase this product because it was definitely on the pricey side. So I went to Sephora and bought the smallest bottle they had, which by the ways was very small!

THANK GOD, I had only gotten a small one. Not that it was a complete disaster and it felt like spraying water on my face, which it did, but it didn't control my oil as well as the price showed it should have. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that my money was not worth it and that i could have spent my $12 bucks on something more useful. But I will still continue to use it up and will not be repurchasing.

Started with the travel size which is overpriced. But I felt I had real results so I bought the XL size for only $18 online. This really seems to keep oil at bay. I'm very oily in my tzone and can tell its not as shiny and I'm not blotting til later in the day if at all. Works best if I use before and after foundation.

I have bought so many of these since they first came out! Essentially it is a great idea except if you want to touch up your face you can't because is it technically frozen... It kept my makeup waterproof and in place but did not prevent any oil break-through. This is more suitable for normal-dry skin types. Oily skinned girls should stay away D: We need to continue blotting/powdering and this setting spray just doesn't let you reapply makeup

I've had pretty good luck with this. I use it both before primer and after I finish my makeup. (2-3 sprays each time) It definitely helps keep shine down. I still have to blot in the middle of the day, but it's not nearly as much. My skin is pretty oily in the t-zone and this definitely helps. Using it both before and after you makeup is important, using it only as a setting spray afterward won't work as well. The sprayer spritzes out a perfect fine mist. I took off one lip because I have used one other product that I think works better. (believe it or not, from Victoria's Secret) I often use them in combination, with this before primer, and the VS after everything, and that works really fantastically. It's a little on the spendy side, but it lasts forever, and I usually try to get it when someone is having a sale. Would recommend!
