To each their own but I am shocked that this mascara doesn't have better reviews. I am a mascara addict. I both love and hate it. Love the product, wont leave home without it, Hate that no one has been able to get it perfect yet. With that being said however, Lancome delivers with this one. I am happy to say that because I had recently purchased their doll lashes which was complete garbage but this hypnose drama is a very good mascara if you're looking for a voluminous, dramatic effect which one would think you are if you're buying something named "drama". It builds volume without getting to clumpy and gross, it definitely lengthens more so even than the mascaras that claim they give you a false lashes look. It stays on my lashes all day without causing any raccoon eyes. It doesn't make my lashes hard and brittle either which I have found a lot of the volume building mascaras do. All in all this is a great mascara if you are looking for dark, dramatic lashes which I always am! I will without a doubt be buying again.

This produce has become my HG volumizing mascara. I have horribly thick straight Asian lashes. I also have really oily lids, so any drugstore mascara will automatically slide off my lashes, leaving a raccoon like look for my eyes after an hour of application. Like the reviewer said below, I am also surprised that there are not more higher ratings for this product. I am on my second tube right now and will continue to purchase and use this product. It is very easy to use, and doesn't clump as much as the other mascara a I've used. It doesn't take a lot of this either to achieve a thick dark lash effect. I do use this over my lengthening mascara. Lately, I've been lazy and I've only been using it with my Lancôme Cils Booster mascara base. It definitely adds volume to my lashes and there's no need to apply more than one layer of this. Furthermore, this stays on my lashes the whole day without sliding off my lashes onto the bottom of my eyelids (something that is INCREDIBLY rare for me to find in a mascara, especially with my oily lids.) This product does keep curls way better than other mascara a I've tried as well. I would definitely recommend this to people who have 1) lashes that have a problem curling, 2) very oily lids and have problems keeping mascara from sliding down onto eyelids, 3) need volumizing.

I can not believe that this product does not have more amazing reviews! I recently got this mascara in the Sephora lash blast kit and went out and bought the full size because it blew my mind. I use to love Benefit they're real but this leaves it for dead! Amazing volume and length, I get so many compliments when I wear it and I will continue to repurchase!!! :) :) so happy I found it

This mascara is fairly expensive, and it gives you long lashes, but I find it to be dryer than Lancôme's Hypnose mascara. Yes there is a difference Hypnose Drama clumps more then the Hypnose and has an almost "crumbly" texture to it. The brush also requires some experimentation as it tends to hold onto globs of mascara.

Love it! love it Love it! This is the closest thing I have found without applying falsies, there is a bit of a learning curve with the S brush but overall a great product. It is also fairly low on the toxicity scale at skin deep.com which is nice. My eyes are sensitive and react easily but do not react to this.

Bought this and loved it instantly for the length and volume it gave after only two coats. I prime my lashes with olive oil overnight so it doesn't clump easily. Overall I would score this a 4/5 because of the occasional clumpyness while applying and the risk of smudging in humid environments or before it is fully set. The fragrance is a nice touch as well, it smells kind of like roses, which I believe is a lancome trademark.

If you can afford Lancome or are lucky enough to get Sephora points grab this mascara. It rocks!


I have thin, frazzled, ugly and practically bald lashes. I need all the help I can get. I need thickness, volume and definition. And wow this does the trick. And it does not clump or dry out. It does not smear or wear off. I love the wand. It has an S shape that is smooth on one side or a portion of the wand and the other to fluff your eye lashes. The mascara stays put in it's creamy lengthing fashion. Love it. I also have super sensitive eyes. Some mascaras can create red havoc with my eyes. Not so with Lancome's Hypnose. It is made with B vitamins and gentle waxes that work with my eyes.


I have tried Hypnose Drama and regular Hypnose. If you do not like the S curved wand you might like regular Hypnose. Drama is going to be more dramatic.

Best mascara for volume out there - FACT! Love love love it!!!

Was not expecting to love this mascara. Thought it would be a return.


I am looking at my lashes about 10 hours after applying, and they are still .... LONG, defined, curled, full, soft, no smudging, no flaking .... in short, just about everything you could want from a great mascara.


LOVE this stuff. I guess for some people the brush may seem "tricky," seems pretty intuitive to me. What I love most about this particular formula is that I get incredible length, definition, nearly a false eyelash look, and it holds the curl better than anything I have put on my eyes in a long time.


Curl. Apply a few coats. Go finish hair or whatever, and curl again.


Lashes are set for at least ten hours, if not longer.


Definite repurchase. Cheaper than Oscillation ....holds the curl better than Faux Cils, and while the over all "DRAMA" isn't quite as much as either Faux Cils or Oscillation, the amount of definition and the curl holding factor make this my current go to for daytime wear mascara. Oh yeah. Loving it.


ETA: This won has one me over. Completely become my go-to mascara. I use the Oscillation primer underneath for one of the best looks I have ever achieved with a mascara. Previous go-to's include, Diorshow Original, Faux Cils, and Oscillation. This one is a winner.

Not sure why the rating for this is so low! I love this mascara! It makes my lashes look super thick and long. Love it!
