This was the first ever lipstick I bought from MAC and since it has become one of my staple products I have finally decided to write a review. Did not do this in the past five years as this product has always been there. This is for me the perfect color of cherry red. The lipstick give a totally different look when used MAT as it or wen a lip gloss is applied ontop. Cannot live without this. I have close to 20 different shades of red/cherry/burgundy lipstic but this one I wear at least once a week... HG
I like the effect, I love darker lipsticks but my thing is more intense dark cherry and this has too much purple for me but I like that it goes on matte and lasts F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I've had this for almost 2 years now.
The bullet tube looks chic and subdued but the cap can easily jog loose in a crowded bag. The color is true and can easily be tamed for scaredy cats but I probably wouldn't buy again just a little too opaque for me but a great buy all the same.

This is a nice dark red color. It lasts for awhile.I just wish MAC's lipstick wasn't so expensive
I am jumping on the goth bandwagon with this lipstick. It is very similar to Chanel's Vamp with Media being a bit more burgandy. I am fair skinned, warm toned, dark hair. I feel like a goth chick with this lipstick, this could work at night but for a daytime lipcolor this comes out screaming. Sad to say, I returned it to the Mac counter. I wanted to love it just could not pull it off.

I think this is the only red that I felt like I could wear on my NC15 skintone without looking like a clown. This color is a dark blood blackened red-burgundy. I love red lipsticks, but I had a hard time going through different shades of red that looked weird in person, or flashed a funky shade in photos. I remember a magazine that I had/have from a million years ago it has a layout featuring Gwen Stefani in which she wore this shade of lipstick, and I fell in love with that look. Years later I finally got it, and I don't regret it. Yes, it can look goth-like on some, but for uber pale, cool-skinned girls, it can look downright hot. I plan on wearing it a lot for the holiday season. I found my HG red!

This color looks beautiful on darker women of color (I'm East Indian, NC45). But, if you like darker lipsticks then this is for you. Lovely ruby wine/burgundy color. It does get a little dry on my lips but I wear a good balm or clear gloss on top. I will always be fond of this lipstick...I wore it on my wedding day for the Hindu ceremony.

This looks so incredibly dark in the tube that I still have a moment of shock when I see it. Then I apply it and I get this beautiful, intense burgundy shade on my lips. It is definitely a bit Goth but it's still a gorgeous, dramatic look when paired with a neutral eye. I guess it appeals to the quasi-Goth I have living inside of me! Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. It's definitely a step up in intensity from my favorite l/s (Lorac Receive), which is saying a lot because that's an intense, deep red too.
UPDATE: Actually, I like this more and more, and have gotten over the darkness of the shade. Diva and Viva Glam III also helped me overcome my fear of very dark l/s.
I looove this lipstick, I bought it in a pallete which has a golden cover(patternmaker:3 plumlips). The package is to die for. I'm a brunette with NC30 skin, this looks like I have healthy, bee stung lips. I like that it is really long wearing and kiss-proof. I'm going to buy it forever. (coloring NW20)
