I used this product for about 2 weeks and it didn't work well for me at all. I have really dry skin in the winter that is really really prone to acne and I thought this soap would help me, but it really didnt. It stings my eyes really bad and my acne did not get any better. It worked for probably 2 days but after that it stopped.
I've been using this soap for almost 2 weeks, i wash my face twice a day with it wash my body daily. It lathers up really nice and makes you feel squeaky clean and not too drying, although everyone should moisturize daily! dry skin or not. It did burn my face a little the 2nd or 3rd day in but i have the refined shea butter and took care of the problem the next morning. It never came back. My face has gotten a little clearer and its great for the spots that get really oily on my skin. I wouldnt call it a miracle soap but definitely better than most soaps Ive tried. The combo with the shea butter is excellent though, and plan on using the pair for years to come

I live in the hot humid weather of Singapore and so my face tends to get oily, and I had those little bumps under my skin that refused to go away. Tried countless brands-- ranging from simple Ponds to the Clinique 3-step-- but none worked as well as ABS did. when i got it, i wasn't too enthusiastic about the way it looked, but it does work wonders. my skin's clearing up and while the bumps havent fully gone away, they've been reduced noticeably. my skin feels tight after this so i follow up with clinique's moisture surge, which is also good for oily skin. whenever i use other cleansers temporarily (clean&clear daily pore cleanser, clinique liquid facial soap) i always start breaking out. but when i return to ABS my skin calms down. so yes, i would most definitely buy this again. plus it's lasted me about five months and i'm only halfway through the block of soap.

I used this product for 2 whole months and honestly it is NOT good for removing makeup although that is NOT what i initially purchased it for. You would need to use a makeup wipe beforehand (which is what everyone should do anyways). I actually just tossed the rest of this product in the trash yesterday. This made my skin EXTREMELY dry and tight. I don't think this soap should be used every day. I gave half of it to my cousin and she has oily skin and even she said her skin felt uncomfortably tight after using this. The smell is really gross. Its a natural smell but not everyone can get used to it. Once you wet it it gets really messy as well. But it does clean your face your face feels "squeaky" clean. So clean that you feel as if someone squeezed all the oils right out of your skin! This is something to be used AFTER you take your makeup off so that it can actually clean your skin and not the makeup off your skin. I initially purchased this to get rid of acne scarring and get an overall clearer skin because that's what it promised to do and it really hasn't done that for me. All of my pimples on my forehead actually got dry after this and left marks on my face. Then i switched over to Clinique 3 step and i am the happiest girl on the face of earth!!! I wish i had started the Clinique 3 step to begin with!
I have been using the Clinique 3 step acne system for years now and although i loved the lotion and the toner ...the soap just didn't work for me. so, after hearing so many good reviews about this soap, i decided to give it a try...and i am completely in love. It's not a miracle worker - but it is the best facial cleanser i've ever used - period. It can sting when you first use it, and it can be drying...but a good moisturizer is all you need. i use the clinique moisturizer with it and it's absolutely fantastic!
I used to use mac wipes to clean my makeup and would follow it with the clinique 3 step system system...but now i just use this soap and my moisturizer! the best makeup remover i've used - and it's cheap!
I bought this when I read the reviews, and thought the compostiton was "neat". its like a big crumbly cake.I like how natural and honest this soap is...sadly not for my face. I found it caused black heads, and does not compete with my HG face wash Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser. However, I love the way it lathers, I enjoy the earthy, clean smell and it's honest. I know what's in it. I love it as a bodywash & shampoo. Also, buying it helps other people and that is the best reason of all to buy it.
This soap has been amazing for me. I was a faithful Proactiv user for over eight years, but as I got older it was beginning to irritate my sensitive skin. I tried cleansers from Skinceuticals and Epionce and while they were good, I still broke out once a month (and they are expensive).
I started using ABS about a month ago and I love, love it. It does make my skin a bit dry so I follow it up with Witch Hazel as a toner and then Unrefined Shea Butter. I do this only at night. I broke out a bit the first week (purging), but now my skin is so clear, bright and soft.
As for value, I use it on my body as well so it is hard to do en exact comparison to Proactiv, but even with using it on my body, and showering twice a day (once after I run) a bar should last 2 months so I consider it a good value.
The packaging is a very simple plastic bag with a white label, which I am fine with. I appreciate not paying more for unnecessary packaging or pretty labels. I cut off a piece that is about 3/4" thick and squish it into a ball - this lasts me a week. I store it in a plastic soap container out of the shower.
A warning: it does sting a lot if it gets in your eyes or if you sniff some up your nose (surprisingly easy to do). I have never had a problem getting soap up my nose before but for some reason if I am not careful the ABS always finds a way to get up there!

It's only been a few days since I've had this soap, and I absolutely love it. I melted some of it down to make 2 pieces. One for the shower and one for the sink. Honestly, it looks disgusting (like poo), but it works soo well. The first time I used it, it took off all the makeup on my face! And only a little is needed since it lathers up very well. I'm really hoping it'll clear up all my acne, but i kind of doubt it since it's caused by hormones & stress (I have nodular acne, any suggestions?)
Anyways, it leaves my skin tight, so i make sure i moisturize afterwards. It's scent free and you get a good amount for the money you pay. It'll probably last a long time depending on how much you use it and if you know how to lather it up well. I'll probably update in a few weeks =]

I had really high hopes for this product after reading the reviews on the CS website. I have moderately oily and acne prone skin. This soap made my skin feel extremely tight and stings terribly on blemishes. It does lather nicely and has a nice clean, earthy scent. I will continue to use it on my body (which, for some reaon does not become dry with the soap) and maybe on the occasional super-stubborn facial oilslicks
I like this soap a lot, it makes my skin feel really clean without drying it out. It is also really good for clearing up acne. I melted mine down and added shea butter to it to make it clean and moisturize.
It looks pretty disgusting, we played a joke on my fiance's father with it, I gave a chunk to his little brother who put it on the floor and it looked like dog poo, well when his dad came home he started flipping out cause he thought it was dog poo, so his little brother picked it up with his hands and started washing his face and his dad started yelling "WHAT ARE YOU DOING JOSH PUT IT DOWN" and we all started cracking up. This soap makes for good jokes and washing yourself.
