It makes me think that I suck at just putting on the lipstick.. I swear to God it's the first time of my life that it seems to take me forever to use the lipstick. It's too dry and no matter how I try using it even with a lip brush, it's so hard to work with. But the color does stay very long. When I drink, there's no marks left on my glass, no color on the tissue paper that I just touch to my lip. The lip balm does smell heavenly.. But the lipcolor? No thanks...

Oh, I do like their package.. Quite cute and u can use it as a mirror to put on the lip stick...

Well, given the fact that I did spend only two dollars on this compared to ten, I really cant complain ALL that much, but I have more cons then I do of pros. Ill start with the cons.

CONS:
-The application of the lipstick part is no where smoothe. Glides on pretty roughly and sometimes has a bit of chunks falling out along the way.
-Very dry, therefor that leads to why its a rough application.
-Must exfoliate lips before hand or have a very smoothe surface.
-Accentuates fine lines and flakiness upon lips if it does not have a smoothe surface.

PROS:
Pretty colour (i got mine in Lilly)
Subtle ammount of shimmer.
The conditioning side is creamy and smoothe.
PAckagine is kinda weird, but I like it since its different.

Overall, I think I WOULD try this again, but only the new lipgloss one. As for this one, its not Epic Fail, but I expect much better quality wise.

I bought this product in Walnut, which actually is a nearly-nude color and not dark at all. I adore the packaging and I love, love, love the color selection, but...I admit that it does dry out the lips and that it sort of flakes/crumbles (I'd say more crumbles than flakes) off eventually during the day. But it does indeed have staying power.

I wear it occasionally despite the drying effect and I think I'll keep another in my car as a "just in case" because the price was reasonable and because I really do just love this color.

I was fairly disappointed in this product primarily because of how incredibly drying it was. When you initially put the color coat on, it is quite sticky and very dry, but the sticky is resolved with the clear conditioning product. However, even though the lip color stays, the conditioning layer does not. After 30 minutes, my lips were dry, flaking, and felt terrible. The strange thing is that the conditioning layer made my lips have a very wrinkly appearance which I've never really experienced before. I purchased the #55 Primrose which is a very lovely color. The scent of the product is also very nice and the packaging is innovative despite it being completely plastic. The mirror was a nice touch.

Blech. I don't know why I keep trying these 2-step long-lasting lipsticks. They hurt my lips to put on dry and the moisturizing top coat is never actually moisturizing. Infallible was another disappointment. I agree with the previous poster who said she would rather go through the steps in the morning, and reappy throughout the day, than deal with the yucky texture of these long-lasting formulas. Ugh.

I've got this in Orchid, and so far I really like it. It stays, it doesn't look garish, and I actually am a fan of the packaging (which includes a shiny mirror-like side and is easy to find in my bag). I am considering getting another color to switch it up. :)

Great staying power- not so great top coat. Love the colors. If they could make a moisturizing top coat that would actually stay- I'd buy this more often. Still a go-to for a night out when I need staying power.

Seems like most people like this infallible lip stuff... I tried it a while back and returned it the next day. I don't have particularly sensitive or dry lips (I moisturize my lips at night, exfoliate them every few days, and always use an SPF lip product during the day). However this infallible stuff was very drying for my lips. i dont remember the color that i purchased but it was a deep red. i wanted a red that wouldnt get on my teeth or transfer to cups during the day. as far as staying put, i think this infallible lipstick really works. however the base coat is so dryng. the top coat was not moisturizing enough for me. i would rather go through all the steps of lip primer, lip liner, lip stick, and lip gloss if it means that my lips will stay hydrated for hours (i use creamy lipsticks that dont feel drying). i thought i would love this stuff but it didnt live up to the hype. as far as packaging, it was effective and i have no complaints. the tubes come in a 2-in-1 packaging, the base coat on one side and the top coat on the other side. this is great for those who dont want to worry about rooting around for two things in your purse. this product may work for some but it was not great for me.

Dear MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour,

I confess, I cheated on you. You are beautiful, you can last for hours and hours...but I hate your lipgloss topcoat. I've never been a fan of MAC Lipglass, and that's how your topcoat feels on my lips. Sticky, tacky (as in adhesive), and with a cloying smell that reminds me of toothpaste.

It was all too easy. I saw the L'Oreal Infallible Lipstick at the drugstore, and I went for it. I chose Orchid, which is pink but not too pink. It goes on smoothly. The color is pigmented. And the topcoat is how a topcoat should be. Moisturizing without gluing my lips together. The smell is a pleasing berry scent that doesn't overpower. Also, L'Oreal Infallible doesn't inflict quite as much damage to my bank account as you do.

Don't worry, MAC Pro Longwear, I still love you, and I know our relationship can weather this. You still do last longer than L'Oreal. I'll just be putting the L'Oreal Infallible Topcoat over you.

this.. was my very first lipstick =] i was always a lipgloss girl, until i found my two drugstore fav's..

burts bee's lip shimmer in "toffee"

l'oreal infallible lipstick in "nutmeg"

before i got into mac, these were my go to lipsticks, they are both a dark chocolatey color..toffee has a shimmer and is moisturizing with a mint scent. nutmeg is a dryer formula with minimal shimmer and a top coat. no scent.

when i first tried l'oreal's infallible i was impressed, it stayed on for about 6 hours in the hot sun, you can use the top coat they give you right after your first color coat dries, and then later on use a gloss or balm of your own.

the only downside to this product is the dryness, you need to have perfectly moist lips to apply, it can show the lines and dry skin. other than that its great! just prep your lips before applying.

you will want to apply the color base first and let it dry for about two minutes, you can purse your lips together to spread around quickly, but after the first couple seconds it gets sticky, so i usually like to use the doe foot applicator and apply like a lip brush very carefully to my top and bottom lip. when it dries i apply the top coat and im ready to go..

after a while the top coat will wear off, thats when i apply a gloss of my own. my faves for nutmeg are "chai" and "c-thru" lipglass by mac, there sticky and are perfect over the top and seem to hold the color in place well.

overall i would suggest this product to anyone who needs a lipstain or lipstick to last a long time without applying..i would imagine this would be a good lipstick for women who have jobs where they have to talk a lot and don't have time to apply..they have a range of colors from red to pink to others, but im a huge nude lip girl, and they don't have anything nude enough, so i wear this more when im going out at night or for a special occasion, and ill wear a lighter creamier lipstick during the day like "myth" "gel" or "creme d nude" by mac.

hope this review helps..and remember, if you buy one of these and you don't like the color or formula, you can return it, never settle for a makeup product, we pay good money for it, so it should look the way we want it too! continued >>
