I have this blush in headliner. While it's the only one I've tried, I love it. I find it to be highly pigmented and very blendable. At $3 you can't beat the price and the pump makes it very easy to get a controlled amount of product. I agree with everyone else that this stuff is so pigmented that it is sometimes overwhelming but it's working really well for me. I apply it by putting a super tiny amount on my metal palette and swirling with my RT stippling brush. I've used it everyday for a few weeks and it looks completely natural when I apply it this way. It's a little more work but I feel like it stays a lot longer than most powder or regular cream blushes. I just recommend applying it onto another surface that you can use as a palette and not your hand because it is so pigmented. The first time I tried on the back of my hand, it was super stained. Now it works fantastic.
I got showstopper today, and I like wearing blush that really stands out and you can tell I am wearing it. I don't wear makeup to have a natural look. This blush was really easy to put on and its true, a little bit really goes a long way. I used a pencil top amount on each cheek. The only downside of this was that it made my skin look a little blotchy, it kind of stuck to my blemishes and made them stand out. But I mixed a pencil size amount of blush with three times the amount of face primer and it kept the color, but it was softer to apply, and didn't stick to my blemishes at all and that's all I had to use for each cheek. I love the color and I ordered Diva and superstar today and can't wait for them to come in.
I was SO excited to try these, knowing they were going to be pigmented and buildable, and I love them! I got Diva (hot pink fuschia) and Encore (berry fuschia) and tried both side-by-side since they looked quite close in color. Encore is my favorite, giving a flushed look that I love, looking like a raspberry color when (very VERY) lightly applied and powdered.
The staying powder over primer and concealer and under setting powder is great! Mine lasted 10 hours without ANY fading through work where I was dusting and got a bit oily. It looked SO good!
Don't love the pump, but it's really good compared to the old ELF pumps.
My biggest concern when buying this was that the pump would be similar to the mineral primer, where it's impossible to get the right amount of product out. I was so relieved to find that they fixed that (both on this and the new mineral primers).
I bought a small stippling brush from Abbamart (which is an outstanding brush), got this in Superstar, and gave it a go. Everyone was going on about how hard this is to use and not look like a clown so I went really carefully. Yes it is pigmented and if you try to apply this right onto your face, you're going to look ridiculous. But using the technique of using the stippling brush on the back of your hand first, it's actually very easy to get a natural flush of color. In fact I had to go over it twice the first time I used it because I was so nervous about overdoing it! It's really not a difficult product to use. I'm not great at blush and even I could get it. Just make sure to watch the videos.
The color of this is what I'd always hoped Nars Orgasm would be: a perfect peach that makes it look like you're glowing from within rather than from the disco ball on your face. It's really an HG product for me. It gives that absolutely perfect glow of color without relying on shimmer.
I find myself neglecting my other blushes because this one is just so perfect. Give it a try, it's only $3 anyways.
Got 2 of the studio HD blushes in a mini ELF haul - Diva and Superstar. First of all, make sure you shake up the bottle REALLY WELL before dispensing any product - otherwise it comes out mostly liquid. I really wanted to like this blush but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype (for me at least) - staying power is not great- yes the product is very pigmented, but what's the point if it wears off 10 hours later? The colors are nice, especially Superstar for medium/olive skin - its a punchy coral pink with a good balance of pink and coral tones- a very pretty, healthy blush color. Diva on me, is more of a clown-ish pink, and I will probably use this as a lip color as opposed to blush. Overall, probably wouldn't repurchase on the basis that the staying power isn't great and the product consistency is a hit or miss; I'd rather get myself a MAC Cremeblend blush. However, definitely glad I tried this blush for myself, after reading all the hype!
I agree with most everyone else. This stuff is crazy! I have them all and they are all beautiful. And...they are really hard to work with. These are so crazy pigmented, you pump out just the tiniest amount on your hand, you have to blend it there to tone it down a little before applying to cheeks and even more so when you apply to your face. Once you put it on your cheeks, you have to move quickly, in my opinion because these act somewhat stain like, otherwise you'll end up with spots on your cheeks that are hard to blend. I said I'd repurchase but doubt I'll ever have to!
I was really excited for this blush when it first came out. I have it in Superstar. I also bought the small stippling brush to apply it with. The packaging is really nice, small and compact. The pump can be a bit tricky but it dispenses just enough to get the job done. Ive noticed even if you shake it up, the first pump usually is watery, like ketchup bottles can be sometimes.
The blush itsself is a bit hard to apply, even with the small stipple brush. Doesnt blend very well and within minuets starts separating and looking dreadful on your face! Its sooo pigmented that even with a light hand you end up looking a little clownish esp since it doesnt blend well at all. I think I might try what the other reviewers have done and use it as a lip stain instead.
These are crazy pigmented but they don't blend well so I am not a fan of these product.Even if you get it nicely blended within 10 minutes the blush starts looking real patchy and because of the bright colors it is super obvious.Even if you set the foundation it will still go bad.
They are almost too pigmented. You have to pat these on to your wrist and end on your cheeks otherwise you start looking like a clown.
I have this in superstar it a bright peachy pink it also looks nice on my .lips and doesn't dry them out.
Holy! This stuff is INSANE. Seriously, I was testing it out in the car in the line at the drive through after getting it in the mail, you know, as you do. And I tried to pump out a tiny amount, and what came out was enough to stain my hand so intensely that I seriously think I scared the drive through lady when I handed her my money. Then I came home and washed my hands. TWICE. With soap. And it is still a little bit on there. (!!) So I would say that this stuff is pretty ridiculous in terms of wear and could easily claim to be waterproof.
I bought this in two colors, Diva and Encore. They actually appear really similar to me. Both are fairly fuchsia, with Diva being a more straight fuchsia with a bit of shimmer (but nothing too obvious IMO) and Encore being a slightly darker more berry tone. I just tried Diva on my face for the first time and I used, like, a SPECK of what was left over near the pump from my Drive Through Debacle, as it has come to be known worldwide, and that was enough to give me a LOT of color. Now if you've read my other reviews ... and WHO HASN'T, if I am not famous, I should be ;) you know that I loooooove me some fuchsia blush and am not going for a natural, no makeup look. But seriously, you REALLY need to be careful not to overdo this blush. I am excited to use this again, but it will need to be used very carefully!
This product is good blush but better lip stain (; i apply it with a lancome lip brush (: ...using it as blush can be tricky. Stipple it on your cheeks with 3 taps then blend it with an angled blush brush.
