I believe I reviewed this under another listing, but I will do it here as well. A nice mask, cheap and does a good job of absorbing oil. Nice to use when I run out of my holy grail mask.
A great and inexpensive product! I use about once a week or every other week as a mask and sometimes as a spot treatment. Might be a little drying for dry skin -- in the winter I follow up with the Dermalogica Multi-Vitamin Power Recovery Masque.
This is a HG product for me! It really helps with my oily skin and it is cheap too! A wonderful product!
I guess I am not the only one breakout from this. As others have indicated, the morning after I use this, I get a few white bumps, some may even turn into zits :( Really weird... Oh, a sidenote, I've used a peel off mask after using this, and guess what? It picked up little green dots... I think Mint Julep does not rinse clean, no matter how hard you try or even with a wash cloth.
A staple. Absorbs oil, cleans pores, smooths skin. Works really well as a mask or spot treatment for my normal-to-oily skin, but may be harsh for dry or sensitive types.
This mask is ok. I use it in alteration with clinique emergency mask. It does help absorb oil and clear up acne, but I get faster results from clinique.
this stuff is great! i usually just use it as a mask, but i used some mary kay stuff that made me break out. i put it on my blemishes overnight, and it shrunk them. they were gone after a couple nights of doing this. i have been putting it on my oily nose overnight, and it soaks it up! plus it is super cheap!
Edited: Follow-ups in Italic
Okay I heard the raves, so heck, I'm game. Put it on. First thought: WOW this smells really GOOD! I almost don't even care if it works, for the smell alone - thumbs up!!! Plus it felt so ice-cool on my skin it was delish!
Okay then the burn set in. Now I don't want to sound like I'm going overboard - I do have a pretty high pain threshold and my skin can take a beating - but I must admit I did chant in my mind the mantra "Beauty is Pain... Beauty is Pain..." we're talking rub some Ben-Gay on a sensitive area type of stuff. But okay, I wasn't tearing or crying or anything, I can deal - besides, this probably means it is WORKING. (Note: On concurrent tries the burn was still there but not nearly as bad) After those couple minutes passed, my skin 'relaxed' and got used to it (or something) and I felt a very pleasant "tight" feeling... pleasant mind you, so far so good. (more to come.)
*EDIT* Okay I'm back! Face feels fresh and clean! Looked in the mirror - whoa, where are my blackheads? (I must say - I didn't really have too many nor were they 'mega-blackheads', just your usual 'enough to annoy you' amount) but still... where'd they go??? *flip to magnifying side of mirror* ahh okay theres one, two, but still... wheres the REST of them? And I must say, my pores DO look smaller. Either I'm a sucker for seeing what I want to, or this really did something all right!
Now 2 updates to follow - if I wake up tomorrow with a Freddy-Kreuger Irritation face, and the ole "Put it overnight on your pimple" routine, because unfortunately I feel a doozey coming on my chin.
**UPDATED AGAIN** Okay NO irritations the next day. Didn't make my 'soon to be pimple' totally disappear - but it DID get smaller and looks like it 'is' starting to go away (just that it's not FAST) Still... overall this product was fine by me, I'd buy it again, thumbs up. continued >>
As a mask, this dries out my skin something awful. I use it overnight as a spot treatment if I ever get a breakout. The price is cheap and one tube will last you for a very long time.
What it is: A minty mud masque that claims to rinse away blackheads and shrink pores that has developed a cult following.
Packaging: Can be found in squeeze tubes or tubs.
Price: Dependent upon size of tub or tube...but roughly $4 for either.
Scent: A strong minty scent that also produces a tingle on the skin.
Texture: Extremely thick.
Raves: I have been using this masque since I was about 10 yrs old. My BFF in elementary school introduced me to it when she started getting her first pimples. It is very invigorating feeling and really does feel like it is sucking the gunk out of my pores. It does also noticeably shrink pores after use. This is of course only a temporary effect but it is nice while it lasts. Great for calming down irritated skin and helping blemishes heal faster. Amazing combined with QH's Grapeseed Extract masque (which I use after using this masque.)
Rants: Does not of course "rinse away blackheads" like it claims, but it does have the immediate effect of making any that you have less noticeable and it perhaps does draw out a few. The minty tingle can sometimes burn for a few minutes but goes away as the masque begins to dry. Not the most amazing options for packaging for this since it is so thick, but I prefer the tub b/c so much product gets stuck in the tube and it is difficult to squeeze out. At least with the tub I can scoop and apply continued >>
