Today is the first day I'm using this & I've never seen my face stay matte for this long in my life. I apply my makeup at 6:30am & by 10:30, sometimes even 9:30, I'm an oil spill. It's 3:00pm right now & my face is just now starting to get a little shine to it. I can't believe after all the expensive powders I've tried to stay matte, this $5 one did the trick. The packaging is terrible I will admit that. I don't really care that it didn't come with an applicator because I would've used my own brush anyway. So far, I'm loving it. I will keep using it :)
I randomly picked this up in Peach Glow as part of a Priceline buy 2 get one 1 free deal about a month ago. I love it! I dust it on with a basic powder brush (Ecotools) to set my foundation and it gives me a flawless finish every time. My skin is combination-dry so I don't even need to reapply during the day. It looks the same all day long and doesn't cake up at all.
While I love the product, I definitely don't love the packaging. It's hard to tell from photos but basically this comes with a plastic lid that is sort of 'screwed' on except there's nothing to really screw it on to. It's flimsy and a bit ridiculous. I wouldn't want to have it rattling around in a makeup case or handbag because the lid would definitely come off. As I just use this powder at home, it's not a big problem for me. Will need to think of a solution for traveling though.
Meh. In the world of a thousand things to try, I would not re purchase this. Will mattify your look but the finish is nothing special.
I do not like this powder. It does not keep my face 'matte' for more than a couple hours and the packaging is terrible. It can also end up looking cakey if you use a brush that is too dense. On the plus it has lasted me 1.5 times longer than my dream matte powder and will still last me about 2 months or so. Won't repurchase.
I've been using this powder for at least 4 years and I'm not exaggerating when I say ... I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT IT! I have extremely pale skin with serious red (on bad days even purple :[) acne scarring in places and an overall awfully blotchy complexion, and all I have used for 4 years is Rimmel Hide the Blemish stick concealer (Ivory) on my scars and this Stay Matte Pressed Powder (Peach Glow) all over, and I can achieve a flawless complexion no problem, which should be impossible with my awful skin! Not to mention I can buy both products for under a tenner (Wahey! :]) And I have never achieved a better match for my skin tone either. I've been tempted to try other powders but have never really bothered because I'm 99.9% sure I would never find another powder as good as this for a better price, so I remain loyal to this amazing product and intend to for a very long time! The packaging has never bothered me and I've probably bought at least 30-40 of these in my time. In fact the lid has never fallen off with any of mine and the only time I recall the powder shattering is when I dropped it on the floor the second I stepped out of Boots with it! Woopsie! :[ To cut a long story short, this powder does what it says on the tin, you will Stay Matte if you use it!
I've used this a few times in the past, and it's nothing special. I have the kind of oily skin that needs a good blot 15 minutes (I'm not joking) after I apply my makeup. 15 minutes. I have never found anything to stop that from being the case, this included. The packaging is god awful. The lid comes off easily, there is no mirror, and it doesn't come with any sort of sponge or puff. I do like the way it makes my skin look, but really, I would love to find something that will actually keep my face matte for at least a few hours. I'll continue the search!
I don't know how to feel about this product. I have it in the shade 'Translucent'. After first applying the powder, skin looks flawless and soft - not overly matte... After a few hours (or in my case, where I work in a humid environment, half-an-hour!!), any oil/perspiration sits on top of the powder in an unnatural way in little bubbles. I've actually had people say to me "why is your face so sweaty?" when otherwise (without this powder), I look fine.
It's unlike other products like MAC MSFN which act as a nice foundation finisher, this product seems to deflect any oil on your face, instead of absorbing it. It's such a shame, and I don't know if it's just me... For now, I won't be repurchasing. I'd heard good things about it, but I guess I'm back on the hunt for the perfect face powder.
The powder is pretty good overall and it does mattify my face pretty well. However, I just can't get past the crappy packaging. There is plenty of product for a good price, but the lid on the container can just fall off! If you want to put this in your purse or even a nicer makeup bag that you don't want to get messy, I wouldn't put this powder in it unless you want a mess. I just really do not understand why someone would design it that way. I think using a compact would have been 100 times better, like the Maybelline Dream Matte or Mac MSF natural.
I wouldn't really buy this again because there are other powders out there that have WAY better packaging.
Love it! It keeps my skin and even my eyelids matte all day. Its soft, but the lid isnt very secure. It hasnt broke me out either...<3
I, no joke, signed up to make up alley just so I could review this product and ward people away! I hate this stuff! First off, the packaging is terrible. The lid comes off very easily as it never fully closes. On top of this, it contains no mirror, which I think is a pretty standard expectation to have in a pressed powder.
However, my main problem is the product itself. When I was putting it on, it did seem to be really matifying, but when I looked in the mirror a few minutes later, I was actually shinier than if I hadn't used powder at all. It seems to have made my skin oilier!
As well as this, it's marketed as a mineral-type make up, so I assumed it would be light enough not to make my skin break out. WRONG. After a few days of using this, the skin around my jaw line exploded with spots. Not pretty.
I'm shocked at these good reviews, as I really have given this powder a chance and it is extremely disappointing . I know it's cheap and cheerful, so I wasn't expecting a miracle product, but this really is the worst powder I have ever used.
