one work can sum it up: eh.
does nothing for volume, but still has a thick brush.
you have to apply endlessly to get anything to show up.
if the title was "tinted subtle cheap mascara," it would be more fitting than the super hero name it was given in the lab.
one of my favs!!! lengthens and volumizes almost perfectly! doesnt flake or irritate my eyes.real cheap too! i took off a lippie for the brush, only bcuz i like real thick brushes.but im already on my second tube of this.love it!
I found this pretty worthless. It promised thickening, and was cheaper than the other Rimmel mascaras, which is why I bought it. It made my lashes "pop" a little, but wasn't dramatic or volumizing at all. I already have black lashes, so "tinting" mascaras are worthless to me. I could see someone who really just wants to color their lashes and keep them natural looking enjoying this product, but I like a dramatic, volumizing mascara, which this just isn't. I'm sticking to my Loreal Voluminous. Too bad, because I do love Rimmel, and it's cheap.
I got this for $3-4 on sale, and it's great as a basic mascara. It doesn't clump or come off at all, which I thought was wondrous. As a friend put it, though, "It didn't do much for my lashes." It doesn't particularly do much thickening. However, it will still darken and accentuate your lashes, so I'd say it does the trick. It didn't completely dry out or wreck my lashes, either. If you want any special effects, like thickening, lengthening, conditioning or curling (although if you curl your lashes before applying this mascara, that'll work too), buy a mascara that is meant to do all that. If you're trying to be subtle, this is probably a good bet. Plus, at the price, it's definitely worth a try.
Update: after having it for soooo long, it's become my HG everyday mascara (due to the not-clumping). If you apply a coat on the upper side of your lashes, pulling straight through, then zigzag thru the bottom half, it still looks spectacular.
i just don't get why everyone loves this. it seemed wet, goopy, and clumpy when i tried it a year ago. meh!
this mascara performs pretty well, i personally didnt get much clumping at all with it! although this is no wonder mascara, it performs well for paying only $4. which is pretty good i must say. there is no comparison to this and department store mascaras but i would repurchase this again because it gets the job done. i would of give in a higher score if the SMELL HADNT BEEN SOO TERRIBLE. if you are sesitive to certain kinds of make up, THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU!! AFTER YOU APPLY IT ON YOUR LASHES YOU WILL ME ABLE TO SMELL ITS FOUL ODOR FOR A GOOD 10 MINUTES. although no one else will really notice the smell, you will! other than that, i cant really complain to much. its decent.
I LOVE this. I've tried Chanel, Dior,Benefit~and this is far better! Long, separated, dark lashes. Just exactly what I want. It does flakewhen it's a couple months old, but for a few bucks, as opposed to 25 , buy 2 so you have a fresh one on hand.H*ll, buy 5!
I love this Mascara. It gives me a lot of volume and lengthens my lashes nicely. The price is dirt cheap. It doesn't smudge like other mascara i've tried before (Voluminous from MAybelline, or High Impact from clinique).IT's simply amazing. I would definitely repurchase this. Rite now, i'm using volume flash which is also awesome. I love Rimmel's mascara 'cuz they just don't give me raccoon eyes watsoever.
This mascara is just great! Very lengthening and heck, it only costs $2 or $3 at the drugstore. Great value when compared to other drugstore mascaras, $12 for Revlon? Come on, I'd go to Sephora to pay those prices. Discovered ESL when I was over in London and I'm thrilled that I can get it here too. I would use this as an everyday mascara except it's pretty dramatic and I prefer something a bit more natural, i.e. Neutrogena Weightless Volume (also excellent). I would give it 5 lippies except it can smudge easily during drying time and when you wash it off it runs down your face, takes a bit of effort to clean off. For a while, I was switching this off with a sample of Dior Show (which costs a fortune) so hey, in my opinion this is one of the best cheapie mascaras out there. And just FYI, I think Maybelline Great Lash is the most overhyped product ever- I wouldn't use it even if it were free! :)
For 1.99 you can't go wrong! Rimmel is one of my fave DS lines, and their mascara is pretty darned good. ESL gives me rich lashes with very minimal clumping, and they retain that wet look throughout the day- no drying, ever! I have very sparse lashes and ESL gave me a nice natural lash look.
