This foundation is OK. The lightest color is not light enough for me. It is much to pink/orange for my skin. And it feels thick on your face. This foundation always left unnatural lines along my jawline no matter how I applied it. (I'm now using Estee Lauder Double Wear in Shell and love it!) ColorStay might be better for people who have darker skin, or at least can find a decent match in Revlon's color scheme.
However, the worst part of this foundation is that it slides right off if you sweat or get oily throughout the day. I live in LA so I need foundation that can stand the heat and sweat. I'd look in the mirror by 3 pm and realize that my makeup had slid off in some parts of my face and not in others so I'd rush to my room to fully re-apply my makeup, which is annoying and expensive. I would not recommend this foundation.

I have sensitive combination type skin.
Pros:
-stays well as advertised.
Cons:
-looks heavy, not very natural (ok for spot concealing like occasional pimples)
-feels drying on cheeks
I'm looking for makeup that looks more natural, and don't want to look like I'm wearing a mask. Revlon feels and looks heavy...not only does it look like you are wearing alot of makeup (which isn't too pretty), it also makes your skin look like you have large pores. It sinks into your pores and when it starts to come off, you look like you have dots of makeup on your face :( It's hard to clean off at night too, and may clog pores.
It was my HG for a while before I realized how heavy it looked. I was looking for something that would stay well on my oily t-zone (which it did), but I don't need something with that much coverage. (Plus it dried out my cheeks). If price is not an issue I would recommend EL Double Wear which can look very sheer if applied properly. It is basically Colorstay but better (more natural looking..but also more expensive)
This was an okay foundation. The color Sand Beige matched well, but seemed to oxidize on me in 4 hours. It felt cakey even when I didn't use that much, but the coverage and finished product was flawless. I dont use this anymore because it broke me out and I could like feel like pores being clogged while wearing it. Maybelline Super Stay in Sand Beige is basically the same thing, but better for the Combination/Oily skin because it doesn't break me out as bad or oxidize AND it dries/stays matte for a really long time. You may need to set it with silica or a talc free powder if your as oily and acne-prone as me throughout the day.

This is my HG foundation. I've been using it for about four years now. I tried tons of foundations, ranging from cheap to high-end, and this one is my favorite and one of the most reasonably priced. The only other foundation I've liked as much as this one was the Fresh foundation that costs like four times as much.
I love this foundation for its coverage, its shade that matches my skin (I often have trouble getting a light enough shade), and the fact that it doesn't make me break out. Coverage is what I'd call medium. I don't feel it on my skin once it's applied (which is good), but it still covers all of my uneven skin tone (not too bad to start with) and most of my blemishes. By the end of the day, I'm left with about 80% of it still on and in place. I wear the Buff color, and it's a great fair neutral.
The fragrance used to bother me (it kind of smelled like butter to me), but I don't notice it anymore. I don't know if it's changed or if I've just become immune to it.
The coverage on this is pretty heavy, however the product itself is not heavy. It doesn't blend well if you don't work fast. I would compare it to Estee Lauder Double Wear. It does have a bit of a paint scent to it, but it wasn't enough to bother me.
I waited a good six weeks before reviewing this product because I wanted to be sure how I felt about it. I bought this because I couldn't find Colorstay Active Light, which I think is being discontinued. I wanted a foundation for summer that would hold up in heat and humidity, because I tend to perspire most on my face. Since the SPF is so low, I wear a sunscreen under it, which helps tremendously with blending and buys me more blending time. I have found that I must use a deep cleanser and a washcloth to remove it. I suspect that some people break out from using this foundation because they aren't getting it all off at night. People have also complained that it is difficult to get the product out of the bottle. I found that storing it on its side helps. Another option is to pour some into a small jar, like an empty gel eyeliner jar.
Pros:
Holds up flawlessly in heat and humidity
Is not cakey if properly blended
Versatile coverage: it is medium to full, though I can blend it out sheer with sunscreen underneath it
Cons:
Low SPF
Must blend quickly, because once dry, it is set
Needs moisturizer or primer underneath for easier blending
Needs extra effort to remove
Smells like latex paint, although that dissipates quickly
Color selection is inadequate
Packaging - needs a pump
This definitely passes the test for holding up in hot weather. I will be on the lookout for something with lighter coverage and a higher SPF (like Colorstay Active Light had), but if I can't find it, I will repurchase.
UPDATE: I'm still loving this foundation. My favorite way to apply is with a damp sponge. Also, if I don't want full coverage, I mix it with some lightweight moisturizer for sheer coverage.

this is the worst thing that has ever came into my life. ( my story)for the past year i was in love with this foundation. i had the clearest skin so it made my skin look even better. but after a while i started to get tiny bumps underneath my forehead and i was breaking out even more around my nose. i tried different cleansers, moisturizers, and treatments but nothing stopped the bumps. suddenly those tiny bumps turned into the most pimples i have ever had in my life. i would cry at night and my mother would always come in and tell me its just puberty and it will pass. i was so sad and unconfident that i went to my derm and perscribed me Duac. boy, did that make things worse. i got acne scarring from it. i threw that right in the rubbish. by the way, during all of this i used even more colorstay to cover my scars and acne. after 5 months of the embarrasement and humilation, i switched my foundation to Make up Forever matte +. after 2 weeks all my bumbs where gone, i had no more clogged pores, and my skin glowed. it was starting to get back to how my skin was before revlon colorstay. thats when i realized thats what was causing all my breakouts!! i threw all of them away and now a year later i can finally say, im proud of my face. everyone loves this foundation, but not everyone has the same skin.

I wanted to love this foundation SO MUCH! I read great reviews about it, and actually found my perfect color match (Sand Beige for NC20-25). But it goes on so incredibly cakey. It makes me look very made-up, it has a consistent heavy foundation-feel on my skin, and I just can't wait to take it off as soon as I get home.
I only wear it when my skin condition is so horrible (we are talking about serious break outs, forehead+cheeks+nose+chin) that no other makeup can possibly cover it up. However, it does have amazing staying power and oil control. Case in point, I wore this to a friend's wedding and it didn't budget until I got home at midnight. Oh, and all my pictures from that day looked amazing, even though I was totally broken out underneath.
The glass no-pump bottle is not much of a concern for me, since I don't use this product that often. And I will continue to try new ways to wear this, because I still REALLY want to love this foundation.
Firstly, this product should have a pump! But the actual foundation is amazing!
I have combination skin so i get an oily t zone and then random dry patches and my previous foundation (l'oreal one) ALWAYS faded off in the oily places and clung to the dry places! defo not a good look especially as it happened like an hour after applying. This one stays put for the WHOLE day and as long as you put the right amount on stops your face looking shiny. I say that because occasionally i pour a little too much out and then my face gets a bit shiny before it dries. But thats a flaw with the packaging not the product. At the end of the day i remove it with a makeup wipe and then have to wash my face as it stays on so well that i can see when i wash it has not all come off. no breakouts although i am not prone to them. feel like i can go out without bringing the bottle with me cos its not gonna budge! also spf is a bonus imo. i use a mac 130 to kind of stipple it in. love it :) however i have decided i wont be taking it with me on holiday when i go as it is medium/heavy coverage and so i think im gonna try find a good tinted moisturiser. x x

I have been using this foundation for over a month now, and I love it! I have very oily skin, and this definately helps keep it at bay throughout the day. I still have to blot, but not nearly as much as I used to! This also hasn't broken me out which is a huge plus! I can also use this as a concealer on any scars or red marks I have, and it has very buildable coverage which is great! I only wish it had a pump, but i just tip it over onto my sponge and it works just fine. I always like to try new foundations, but I can see myself coming back to this one :)
