A staple in my makeup supplies. It makes eyeshadow last all day, even the cheaper brands and I never have a problem with creasing when I use this. Even in Summer when my eye lids tend to get oily. Plus eyeshadow always looks better when applied over this. One tube lasts me about six months because a little can go a long way. The packaging is the only problem with this product, but when I start to have trouble getting the product out, I just break the tube and put it in one of those tiny plastic cups with lids from the craft store that are used to store paint so it doesn't dry out.
Aside from the cute albeit useless packaging, this is definitely a cult favorite and keeper for the next decade. Does a great job with keeping eyeshadows from creasing, budging, and fading just like it says on the package! Helps oily lids stay nice and matte, ready for application! This helped my eye makeup last through a night of clubbing. Definitely lives up to the hype.
You could always transfer the product from the bottle into a lipgloss pen like EnKore shows you how to do on YouTube:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance is a great alternative if you do not want to have to go through sawing open the pretty packaging. They basically do the same thing, but I find Shadow Insurance prevents my shadows from creasing a bit more than UDPP does.
I love this product! The ONLY drawback in my opinion is the applicator, a bit puny-i think a better delivery system could be utilized. But it grabs my eyeshadow and makes it stay put ALL DAY! I love it! Thank you UD!
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! If YOU have a problem with the packaging...check out this youtube vid on how to REPACKAGE the primer potion IN A WAY THAT DOES NOT DRY IT OUT!!!!
Some suggest taking out the little plastic stopper at the top, but FORGET about that!!
The urban decay company should take some tips from this guy!
Bought this after seeing TONNES off rave reviews on you tube. I don't think many people in the UK are really that into primer products, but this has made me reconsider the whole concept.
I wouldn't say I have particularly oily eyelids, but 9 times out of ten I'd find that powder eye shadows would just dissapear after a couple of hours. I don't generally buy cheaper eye makeup either - I'm a MAC, chanel, and YSL girl, but even they were just disappearing on me.
I tried this and I was AMAZED. I use this everyday now, and my eye mekeup really really lasts all day. It wont crease or budge on me. I find that the primer applied on its own also has a slightly neutralising effect on shadows and discolouration, but that just might be me?
I'd say that the only slight gripe I have with this is the packaging. The bottle it comes in is very pretty but designed like a 'genie's bottle' type of think. This means that a lot of product gets stuck in the sides and base of it, so you might think it's all gone when there is lots left. This seems easily solved though - EnKore and various other lovely people on You Tube have made some great tutorials on depotting the product,
Some people might find this a tad expensive - I think I paid around £10 for it here. Having said that though, If you are going to spend a long time applying a lovely eye look and also spend a lot of money on your makeup products, I would say that this is more than worth it, as it will help you get the most out of your products.
Will definately be repurchasing and recommending to family and friends....
My HG primer. The best out there, no contest. I have Asian-ish eyes, so my eyeshadow (no matter the brand, whether high-end or low-end) ends up in my crease after a few hours. With this stuff, I can go 12+ hours without even a slight bit of creasing. If that weren't already wonderful, the primer also makes eyeshadow colors much more vibrant. This stuff can't be beat! The only drawbacks are the price (which is exaggerated) and the bottle (which only allows for the extraction of about half the product). To get your buck's worth, you might have to cut the bottle and transfer the stuff elsewhere. Besides that, though, the best eye product out in the market!
Love it! The only complaint I have for this, it that you have to use kind of a lot to help the staying power of your shadow... if you use too little it does not work as well. Other than that, it is a great eyeshadow primer that makes application really smooth!
If I do not use this under my shadow, it creases and fades by lunchtime. But, when I use this my shadow stays on well past dinner with no creasing..
I use neutral colors and do not do much rigorous activity that affects my makeup so that might attribute to my opinion.
I initially bought this product because of all the rave reviews I heard, thinking it would make my shadows color pop on my lid like my Beige-ing shadestick did. However, it didn't really do that for me. It does however make my shadows stay put and not crease. There have been times when I get home late, don't wash my face, and wake up in the morning with my eye make up still looking great. The packaging could be a lot better. To get the most product use out of this you have to cut the bottle and put the product in another container.Another thing, the UDPP dries on my lid pretty quick , making it really hard to blend the shadows nicely. I continue to use the UDPP, but I always have to add a secondary primer on top to make my eye shadows pop. I probably won't buy it again and will try Too Faced Shadow Insurance next.
this is the best primer ive ever used! i recentley bought it because iheard so many good things about it and im glad i did! my eyeshadow last all day and if i accidentley dont was it off at night, its still on in the morning!
love it :o)
I read so many great reviews about this product, I thought I finally found my answer to creasing shadow. I have very oily lids and even the supposed "long wear" eye shadows (powder and cream) end up entirely in my crease after 2-3 hours. I bought this primer potion and now, not only is most of my shadow in my crease, some of it is even under my eyes! I'm so disappointed. I called them hoping they would tell my I was using it wrong, but they said I'm using it right and it just doesn't work for some people. I'm sending it back.
