I use the most expensive products (Amore Pacific, La Prairie, Cle de Peau so I spend a lot of money on products) and I decided to switch from the "cheap" Merle Norman eyeshadow base that I have used for 20 years and I adore thinking that this "new" and more costly product would be better.
Conclusion: The Potion barely held (again comparing it to Merle) my shadow and so I returned the product and went back to Merle.
This stuff is HG status for me. I use it faithfully each and every morning.
It makes even cheap eyeshadows look bright and true to color, and helps them last and last.
At 14 bucks or so a tube, it's dirt cheap because to be totally honest I can't remember when I bought my last tube. I know it's been at least 7 or 8 months.
My major issue with this product is the packaging itself-- it's adorable but it's completely dysfunctional. When it seems like there's no more left in my tube I take a sharp knife and cut it in half and TA DA, there's a ton of product left on the inside of the tube where the flocked applicator can't reach. I scrape all this out and into a 5mg jar and wind up with another several months' worth of product to use.
Fortunately, word on the street says UD is working on a new package for it, which would be great. Regardless, I'll continue to re-purchase because it makes my eyeshadow last and last.
I don't have partuicularly oily skin on my eyelids, but I find when using eyeshadow powders (eg. Barry M Dazzle dust) you do need something to give extra hold especially if you are using darker colours, this certainly makes sure it lasts all night, even in hotter environments It goes on as a nude colour and then blends in as you rub it across the lid, you do not need to use a lot. Purchasing in the UK, this product is about £12, which some people may find a little more expensive, so I'll judge that on how long it lasts. I've had mine for about 2 months and no sign so far of it running out.
I have super oily eyelids, and it's why I don't wear eye shadow at all. I haven't tried this with shadow yet, but this primer works great with eyeliner. Usually, my eyeliner is an oily mess within 2 hours, but when I put this stuff on, I last 8 or more hours. This is AWESOME.. I can wear eyeliner again!!
Absolutely amazing product. I have not yet found another product that will keep my eyeshadow on throughout my 16 hour day without a single crease. Also, the intensity of color you get with shadows on top of the primer is unparalleled.
I just want to add my 2 cents to the hallejuah chorus. Love this stuff for my oily, never keep on eye make up lids.
*Ladies in take a butter knife and pop off the little rubber filter at the top of the tube in order to get at all of the product. Might need to use a Q-Tip to help you get all the way to the bottom and sides. Works for lipgloss too.*
Even better is this tutorial on how to get the product out. See just how much is left in there.

Since there are so many good reviews on here already I'll just TRY to keep mine's nice and short =) I love this primer, you only need a little bit and it keeps the color of my eyeshadow locked in ALL DAY/NIGHT. It makes colors pop even more than normal, and that pop lasts soo long. I bought this because of the reviews on here and it has lived up to my expectations. The only problem that I have with it is that you have to wait so long for the product to get less sticky (about continued >>
Very nice primer, the best primer that I have tried. The packaging may be cute but you may think you are done with the tube where there is a ton of product left around the walls of the tube. Slice it open it scrape it out!
