I have oily eyelids and eyeshadow tends to crease easily. Had tried the Redearth eye primer but the product is not good as Urban Decay Primer Potion. I love UDPP.
Ladies, before you want to buy expensive shadow, buy this primer first! I have very oily lids that by 3pm my waterproof eyeliner smudge and no eyeshadow left. Not mention I wear contact lenses and the smudge things sting my eyes. I didnt want to buy this one but Sephora offered a nice discount and I gave it a try. All I can say is Wow!! Even if UD sell it for $40 I will still repurchase it.
This primer does its job very well, my eyeshadow stays on longer compared to just using normal concealer as a primer. I rated it 4 out of 5 because i havent tried any other eyeshadow primers yet so i cant really compare. A little goes a long way for this product and even if the price is a bit expensive for a tiny bottle, i still say it's worth it.
Absolutely genius product! I will continue to buy despite the ridiculous and wasteful packaging. No exaggeration when I say that I CANNOT successfully wear eyeshadow without it for more than 1-2 hours. TFSI/other primers didn't even come close in performance.

Though I would buy this again if I had no other options, I HATE the stupid genie bottle it comes in and since it already cost $20 I'm not going to cut it open and dig all the stuff out thats too much work really. Toofaced shadow insurance is just as good and ULTA brand professional eye primer rocks my striped socks in a major way, it's sold in a pot and I just apply with a brush oh and it's $12 can I get a woot woot!

I'm addicted! I was referred to try this product by about a thousand of you ladies & I'm glad I did. While I normally don't use it alone (I'll apply this, then a coloured base over it) it still make my eyeshadow last through my 8-10 hour work days AND the night out. I think it's decently priced, considering the wonderful job it does. I'd suggest not using a ton of it, I just use the wand & swipe it right over my life and blend it out with my finger & my results are amazing. continued >>

I will be returning this product to Ulta this weekend. I was not able to blend eyeshadows over this primer (unless I mixed it with concealer first (MAC - tube) and then applied it to my lids). After reading the reviews for Too Face Shadow Insurance (TFSI), and desparately wanting an eyeshadow primer, I decided to purchase it. It's all good! I am very, very, very happy with this product; EVERYTHING is perfect about this product - price, performance, size (it will last me a long time even w/frequent use), texture (I can blend my shadows very well), and packaging...thanks MUA girls and guys. I was thinking about exchanging my UDPP for another tube of TFSI but perhaps I'll try UDPP's deluxe eyeshadow instead.
UPDATE - Okay I bought the TFSI and was absolutely loving it. No adding/mixing concealer to it first so that I could blend my darn e/s. Then one day I wore a gold e/s that is normally very flattering to my complexion except when applied over TFSI...even my boyfriend made a comment! So I hauled my behind back to Ulta to pick up a tube of UDPP just to wear with my gold e/s. After watching tutorials (Francine @ Frantasticmakeup) and watching her apply UDPP and rubbing the be-jesus out of it; I did the same. Now, I am in-love-with-UDPP!!!
Sidenote - I bought UDPP at Ulta: 2 full-sized bottles for $26.00. Oh, Boy!
This is a pretty good product. It helps to keep my liner and shadow stay on, but it's not a miracle product, and I have to layer it over loose powder if I REALLY want true staying power.
If I wear this primer alone with liner, a lot of it will have flaked off by day's end (about 12 hours wearing time). But if I first dust NARS loose powder all over my lids, and THEN put this on, there is barely any flaking, and my liner stays dark and stays put on my eyelid until I take it off.
I would purchase this again.
Probably the most useful makeup product ever! I have showered with this on under my eyeshadow and come out with it still perfect. A friend of mine has been swimming with it on, and only her mascara smudged.
I even wear it when I'm not wearing eyeshadow, because it evens out my skintone, and I sometimes wear it as concealor on my nose, it works very well.
Also, I'm sure many of you know this, but before you go slicing your UDPP open after the wand goes dry, try taking out the stopper at the top. It takes a bit of work with a tweezers, but it won't dry out like it would if you decanted it. Then after a while you can cut it open to get the last bits you can't reach out.

REALLY WORKS! I couldn't believe it...but any product with this many good reviews is worth a try. Won't work for probably one out of ten people but for the other nine, its a lifesaver! Will buy again and again....would buy 2 at a time if UD would CHANGE THE STUPID PACKAGING! the genie bottle is cute but impractical but who cares...i love this stuff.
i have uber-oily eyelids btw....and i could never keep eyeliner on before....now my eye makeup no longer melts away! i wish my whole face could stay on like my eyeshadow!
