Funny, but my daughter has the Champagne and even though it is pale and frosty, it suits her. She is a pale strawberry blonde. Thankfully, God made us all different so, to each her own. I know I couldn't pull it off. It's nice they have a good variety to chose from, I think there is probably a shade there for everyone. Just be sure to test before you buy as the colour in the tube is not always true when you apply it. She happens to like the peppermint tingle these offer. I think the slim tube is a cute gimmick but you probably don't get as much product that way.
I bought this in Champagne and Coffee. I hate both of them. HATE. The Champagne is too frosty on me, and I like frosty! The coffee shade comes out orangey and I can usually get away with coffee-colored lip anything.
I have this in the nutmeg shade and its pretty good. It is highly pigmented for a lipbalm, so a little can go a long way. Leaves a nice minty taste and tingle on my lips and doesn't feel all that tacky. I will try out other colors like the watermelon shade. Overall, these are not bad.
I just got lip shimmer in rhubarb and I am impressed! It glides smoothly over my lips and rhubarb is a deep and warm pink that is flattering. I like the slight minty feeling and it moisturises my lips just fine. It works as if you put a slight gloss over lipstick, just that it isn't sticky and soooooo moisturising. Now tempted to try watermelon and champagne!
EDIT: I change my mind, this is most fabulous thing I've ever put on my lips! It plumps them up and gives them the ooomp factor! Not even my lip gloss can achieve this look, without pilling up all the goop on my lips and them feeling sticky. Don't think I will ever purchase anything other lip gloss or colour after this, nothing comes close... Burt's a genius for creating this product!!!
I own this in Coffee and Nutmeg and I have to say that I really like these shades. I love the slight minty tingle when you apply them and their sheer coverage. My only gripe is the packaging. The product won't go back down into the tube so I have to put the cap half-on. This isn't a big deal, though. Overall, a thumbs up from me.
I own this product in Rhubarb, which is a red stain. I have full, reddish-pink lips, and this makes them look perfectly flushed and moist. My HG tinted balm for that naturally sexy look.
I really WANT to like these things. I used to work at a Bath and Body and got them in coffee, rhubarb raisen and whatever else was dark enough for my light-medium olive colored complexion. The colors are almost right, but not quite.
Pros: I like the minty tingles.
Cons: That's about all I like. The package is too small, the colors are a tad too bright, the texture is too smeary and it fades away unevenly and gives you that blotched your grandma just ate coffee and doughnuts look.
I would guess the light colors would be okay, but I won't bother.
This provides great color and moisture and it's texture is light, not heavy or cakey like some other lipsticks. It's easy to apply and I use it as a pick-me-up on days when I feel pale (My favorite shade for this is Rhubarb). My only slight problem with this is that after I apply it, some of it gets on the rim of the tube so it looks kind of messy, like it melted around the sides.
These lip shimmers are truly amazing. Not only do they make your lips look naturally lushess but they don't create a fake wet/shiny look. The -rhubarb- color is by far my favorite. I use it daily it keeps my lips healthy and moisturized and looking amazing. Love this product.
I hate to wear lipstick. Lips that are smothered in thick pastey lipstick look horrible in my opinion. I only applied lip balm to my lips because I could never find anything subtle enough. Everything I've tried in the past either left my lips looking overloaded with shine/gloss or the color looked unnatural and uneven.
I saw Burt's Bees lip shimmers and decided to give them a try even though in my opinion theyre pretty expensive. I bought the Champagne shade. I applied it to my lips prior to going out for the night and was amazed how smooth and soothing it felt on my lips. The color gave my lips a delicate shimmer and dewy pink-like shade (please don't think bright or tacky pink). My lips looked naturally enhanced and tinted, "dewy" is the best word I can use to describe it. I was also surprised that that night about 5 girls asked me what I used on my lips and and where they could buy it.
I have to say I love this product. I recently bough a special pack of 5 of these lip shimmers all in different colors. I love them all but the Champagne shade is still my favorite.
