For once other people agree with me on this. It's puzzled me for years why this crappy mascara consistely ranks so high in magazine reader polls. It's terrible!!! Clumpy, flaky, just ugly. Yes, it's cheap, but you can get fabulous mascaras from pretty much any other company at the drugstore (or Avon) for under $10.
I actually thought this was better than most people said but was still not as good as I would like my mascara to be, but at a cost of $4 I'm not sure if I should complain.
This mascara is AWEFUL!!!! When I put it on I end up with mascara all over my eyelid. It doesn't clump but it runs onto my eye no matter what I do. I tried getting the excess off the brush, but it still does it. I cannot keep it of my lid, I finally gave up and threw it away.
I have this mascara in soft black. It does a nice job of naturally enhancing and defining the lashes but does nothing to lengthen them and it does not add volume. The worst part of it is that this mascara smudges a lot and I always end up with raccoon eyes when I use it. I will not buy this again.
Like everyone else says, this product is not at all what everyone says it is. I really don't see what all the fuss is about. How this came to be the number one mascara in America, I'll never know. The brush is flimsy and pathetic. Oh yeah, and this is one of the most CLUMPIEST mascaras I have EVER used. In the end, it ends up looking good I guess, if you like looking like you're wearing fake eyelashes. The only thing I like about this product is that the tube is pink and green and totally adorable. If you want a good mascara, shell out a few more bucks and buy Covergirl Volume Exact.
I got this product for free one day and thought I'd give it a try. It didn't smudge through the day but it left my lashes looking stiff and clumped together. I had to use an eyelash brush to separate out some of the clumped lashes. I don't think I'll be getting it again.
it performs naturally defining your eye lash. it does smuged your eye. no waterproof~`
If you've got the right lash type for this, it could be your HG or at least a cheap crutch till you find it. Think of it like skin type, you can't expect something made for oily to work out for you if you're dry.
This stuff is good for someone that has decent length to start with, maybe with a little need for a bit more color. It isn't good for multiple coats; the brush gets loaded, and if you start trying to complicate the process with multiple steps you will get spikey and stiff, and then the inevitable flaking will follow in short order. This mascara's just some window-dressing for a very laidback day, when you're in the mood for no-frills frills.
I don't get the loyalty of the rags, but I don't get the disgusted reviews, either--at least you won't splurge 25 bucks on something that'll make your eyes itch like crazy.
ummm, this mascra really isn't THAT bad. i use this for a few reasons. 1. is very cheap and easy to find. 2. doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes....like diorshow did. and 3. gives my naturally long, dark lashes some definition and some xtra length, while still letting my eyes look natural. sometimes when i wear a powerful mascara that is supposed to lenghten like 500 times and give like 200% more volume, i feel i look like a slutty freak. also, i really don't wear mascara everyday....only when going out or if i want to feel more girly.....so i basically never use up a tube of mascara b/c i am good about throwing it out after a few months to avoid eye infection. so throwing away 3-4 dollars isn't a huge deal to me. i should add i have not had a problem with smudging....unless i cry! which isn't often luckily. i'd acually call this more of a lash tint, but i like it. does it have super powers and deserve hundreds of awards? probably not. but it does what i need it to do. ;)
I have to chime in with the thousands of reviewers. This product is awful. And once again, it makes Allure magazine's top products. Regardless of what their beauty editors say, when a product consistently under-performs (like this one) it makes me discount ANY of their picks. It simply looks like Maybelline is a top advertiser and they are rewarding the advertising $$$. But back to the mascara. Wet, clumps, and smudges. Maybelline, are you reading this?
