I went to the MAC counter at Nordstroms and told the salesgirl my problem of dark under eye circles and she directed me to the Pro Longwear concealer. I love this concealer! My sister noticed right away that my dark circles vanished and it still looked natural. I even use the same concealer for dark spots and discoloration and it still looks good. I apply the product with a cosmetic wedge (like the salesgirl first used on me) and I just blend away.
The pump is a little troublesome but you just have to use a light hand when trying to get the product out. I will definitely repurchase this item again!
I think this is a great liquid concealer and I use it quite often. I have it in NW20, but the payoff is more like NW15 on my skin. I use it to cover redness and slight eczema patches as well as some acne and some scars.
The color selection is good
The feel is really good for a liquid concealer
The lasting power is good when set with powder, but can still sweat off on me
The price is a bit much for the amount for me
The pump squirts out too much EVERY TIME, wasting product! This is extremely annoying.
This concealer is okay... I like the coverage but I find it too cakey on my skin. I only use this for spot-concealing, if I use it over a wider area it just looks cakey and make my pores look bigger. It lasts all day even though I have rather oily skin.
Its not great for under the eyes. Just on tiny blemishes and such. I do find it similar too Hard candy glamoflauge, but this lasts longer on the skin.
I HATE the packaging. The pump dispenses too much product. since you only need a tiny, tiny amount with this concealer I always get too much, but I put the excess in a sample jar so I wont waste so much product.
I dropped this on the floor so it broke =( They should reconsider the packaging and have it in a squeeze tube instead!
Overall, good for spot concealing and lasts a really long time!
EDIT: too cakey. Wont repurchase
Overall fantastic concealer, although it takes a while to kind of blend itself into the skin, it stands out for the first few minutes. Easy to blend and work with, excellent colour match, and perfectly hides blemishes and has good staying power! the biggest downfall with this product is the price & the pump... the pump makes it super hard to get out the right amount, therefore a lot of product is wasted, if there was no pump i would have no issue with the price!
I do not recommend this concealer. It makes my undereyes look dry and it gets into the creases. Its coverage is not very good.
I'm NC20, which matches my skin perfectly. This lasts ten hours on me, though the last few hours I find the coverage to start decreasing. While it hasn't made my skin break out, I have found it to clog my pores. I would still re-buy it because the coverage is amazing. The concealer looks terrible for the first ten minutes, but it becomes more natural after that. I use powder foundation over it. The only thing that I wish MAC could improve is the pump. It really is terrible. I can't control how much I want. It usually squeezes out a lot.
Pros: lightweight yet still medium to full coverage, good color selection (I'm tan so I am NW30), doesn't get cakey even with powder, lasts all day, covers blemishes (without leaving them looking dry), covers redness, easy to blend, isn't oily (which is amazing for me because I have verrry oily skin)
Cons: kind of pricey, doesn't cover under eye circles very well, makes pores appear larger (and I don't have large pores so that's why I noticed), pump dispenses too much, bottle is glass
Just like the foundation, this concealer is very good at staying put (even on my extremely oily skin, and I blot literally once every hour).
I used this on blemishes and post-acne marks as well as redness around my nose and chin.
Covers very well. I watched a youtube video of a girl with pretty severe acne using this concealer as a foundation and it covered miraculously!
I'd say this is my HG concealer.
I absolutely love this concealer! I have tried so many concealers and I've finally found one that is a cut above the rest. I've repurchased this a few times and will continue. In the UK, it is a tad expensive but for how well it works, I don't care!
I have big under eye circles and a few blemishes and when I apply this, you can't see them at all. Buy this!
After reading reviews on here (thank you fellow make up reviewers for steering me in the right direction!) and asking one of my make up guru friend, I took the plunge and bought this "expensive" concealer. I say "expensive" because I had been semi against expensive make up because I didn't want to dish out the cash so I just told myself Neutrogena concealer was just as good. Hah, how wrong I was! For what this product does, the packaging (more on that in a second), and the amount you get, it really isn't that expensive--not even twice as much as my stupid Neutrogena concealer.
To anyone trying to decide between this and any other concealer... forget that other one, buy this. I was trying to decide between this and the Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick, and I am so happy I bought this. I still may buy the BB stick just for my purse later, but this concealer really doesn't require touch ups. It stays put all day long. I shed a few tears during an episode of Say Yes to the Dress (don't laugh) and it didn't budge. This is great for under eye AND blemishes, which is so nice because I feel like there are so many concealers that can only do one or the other. As many other reviewers have said, this stuff dries quick, so you have to work fast, but that is really the only thing that can be a con, but fast drying can also be good. I don't want to sit around for 10 minutes before you can continue with your make up routine, and I bet most other people don't either. Also, I agree that it is very natural, but you have to make sure you blend well or else it might not look so great.
The packaging. Like almost everyone else has said, the only downside is that the pump dispenses about twice as much as you really need, so, here is my solution to that. When you buy the concealer, ask for one of those little sample pots so you can squirt the concealer into there and just use what you need, then save the rest for your next use. I would suggest you could keep the little pot in your purse, but I just pulled mine out of my make up bag and it leaked on something else because it was laying sideways... so don't put it in your bag! It's best to keep the little pot upright so it doesn't get all over the threads in the cap then on the pot then squish to the outside when you close it. Anyway, I thought it was quite brilliant (besides the leaking thing), and it actually happened to me by accident because they were out of my color so the SA loaded me up with a pot of concealer until I could get to the next nearest Nordstrom. Other than that, I love the little glass vial with the cap; it looks cute in my make up bag. Anyway, I hope that helps! Thanks for reading my long winded review!
