I am reviewing the foundation in the glass bottle with the blue cover. first of all I have oily skin. The foundation is hard to get out even in a new bottle. I have to bang on the bottom to get some out. I apply with my fingers because this stuff is buildable, but sheer at first and I don't want my makeup sponge "soaking" up any of this sheer foundation! This controls my oily skin all day! I also use the CG fresh complextion wand concealer, and the silver pressed powder. (wich is being discontinued so stock up!) this combination works great together!
While I agree with previous reviews that say this foundation does hardly anything at all for oil control, I also think that this really isn't half bad. I used the lightest shade, Ivory, and it was a great match for my skin (no small feat, I promise! I'm super pale). Plus, when applied lightly with a foundation brush, it does a good job of evening out my skin tone; however, this is a sheer foundation, so I did wind up using concealer on my really red spots. I wouldn't give this HG status, but for the price it's excellent. It looks really natural and gives off a slightly dewy, healthy glow. I am not such a big fan of the bottle, though... It's hard to get a small amount out, I wish it had a pump. I'm not sure, but it may have clogged a few pores on my forehead. I'm going to keep using this and see if it truly was the culprit; if it is, I'll update my review.
I've been experimenting with foundations lately, and I really like this one. The consistency is definitely thicker than the normal Clean Makeup, which makes it so much more blendable. It gives a good level of coverage and looks natural. It does control most of the oil, although touch-ups are needed in the T-zone. It lasts through most of the day and doesn't slide off, which is very nice. My only problem is that the lightest color in this line is too pink for my skin. I may try the next color darker just in case it's more yellow-based.
Bottom line, this is a really good foundation for a very low price.
i love this foundation b/c it never makes me break out! it's light and sheer, but can give good coverage when i need it to. it doesn't really 'control' oil like it claims, but it also doesn't make my skin worse. most liquid foundations break me out like crazy, so i'm thankful this one doesn't!! plus, it's dirt cheap at target!
I bought this on a whim, but I love it. I really think my skin has improved since using this product because it really does help control my really oily skin, especially since it's summertime.
There's lots of shades to choose from. I got Creamy natural 520 which is slightly too light for me, but it blends all right and looks fine. The coverage is light to medium...won't do miracles for a huge angry red zit or anything, but good for general evening out skintone, and will cover some older acne dark spots.
I used to just use Neutrogena's rapidclear acne lotion on my face and then use powder to even skin tone, but that always turned into an oily mess and my face was pretty acne-prone. Once I switched from powder foundation to this, my breakouts have definitely gone down a notch and my face stays matte for much longer.
Very good coverage to make me look natural but not "made up". I still see some dark circles and blemishes (basic flaws) but it is lessened and not a "mask". So I love it!
I have a couple bottles of this, in Ivory and Classic Ivory. While Classic Ivory is a better match for me, it still is not a perfect match. This foundation has kind of an odd consistency and it doesn't cover anything. I would not repurchase.
This is a truly amazing foundation. I've been using it for a couple of years now and it's never been the cause of a breakout. It blends really great into my skin and matches very nicely (I'm pretty white and I use the 2nd lightest shade) you can hardly even tell you're wearing makeup, it never leaves an orangy look. I love that it is oil free, it takes away all the shine in my face and makes my skin look so CLEAN! This is my HG and I could never live without it, and at this price (only $3 something at target) I wouldn't have to! It covers most red spots and evens out my complexion really nicely. When my skin is really bad, I use a pressed powder on top (right now I'm using mark.'s powder foundation which is really great too) then I'm set. I only rarely have to reapply but thats when I sweat it off. Just try this, and if it doesn't work for you it's only a couple bucks you've lost, right?
I just bought this a few days ago at Target, because I needed a new foundation color (thanks to my new tan!)...I bought this in Buff Beige, which was a bit too light, surprisingly. Needless to say I woke up this morning with a big cystic acne on my left temple and 2 on my right cheekbone and zits in between my eyebrows.
It was also very hard to get out of the bottle, as it was more of a cream than a liquid. Never purchasing again.
At first I didn't really like the stuff, but I have been using it for a few years and am now on a third bottle. I love that it hasn't broken me out at all. I don't know about the oil control, but it hasn't made my skin worse like some foundations. I like the consistancy of the liquid, and the coverage is great (about light to medium coverage). I use this under mineral powder and it helps to make my skin look flawless. I've tried other foundations, but I keep coming back to this one, and I'm now in love with this stuff.
