i too am surprised how much negative reviews this received. this stuff is awesome. i don't like to wash my hair everyday...i have such thick, dry hair and would hate to damage it anymore than i've already done w/ all the colorings i've done to it. i wash my hair every other day and this gave my hair more body and looked less greasy. i did a youtube search on a tutorial and found that the best way is to spray it on top only where it gets a little greasy at the roots. i leave it on for a minute or two. fyi it does spray on gray or white...but it's very easy to comb out. way easier than baby powder. really great stuff. i hope they never discontinue this. i did get the spray one. i heard the mousse one is a little more difficult to use since it makes your hair a little wet and you still have to let it dry. great price too...just under $5 at walmart.

This product is GREAT! I'm not sure why others had negative experiences. I lightly misted the product over my roots and my bangs and waited 1-2 minutes, then brushed it through my hair. It definitely made my hair look less oily and smell fresher. If you put too much in, I can see it might leave a residue, but if you just spray 1-2 quick sprays over your roots, holding the can about 8 inches from your head, there should not be any residue left. I'm usually a skeptic of this products, but this was definitely worth the $6!!

This is basically sticky corn starch in a spray can (corn starch is the third ingredient listed, I think). I decided to try this because I a) want to ween myself off of washing my hair daily, and b) have side-swept bangs that get very oily throughout the day, and wanted something that was more convenient and less messy than baby powder to cart around with me to refresh them. This isn't it.
While I love that it is a lot less messy and scalp-drying than baby powder, it turns my hair white like baby powder, and feels like I just put hairspray in my bangs after I apply it (and even after I comb it out, which I have to really work at). My hair does look less stringy/oily after I've applied it and combed it out, but it certainly doesn't feel cleaner--it feels stickier and more difficult to run my fingers through. Unfortunately, this doesn't even keep my hair looking good for very long--I have to apply it about three-four times each day (just as often as I had to apply baby powder) in order to keep it looking fresh.
Since I'm not using this to avoid washing my hair, I don't find its flaws to be that frustrating. However, had I bought this for that purpose, I would be super disappointed. I would never, under any circumstances, use this as my shampoo for the day. I've heard great things about dry shampoo, so I'm going to go ahead and keep looking for a good-quality one instead of buying this again.

This product isn't the greatest. First of all, if the packaging didn't stop working for me by the 3rd use each time I repurchased, perhaps I could get a little more use out of this product. The aerosol spray head has broken both times, limiting the amount of product I get to little-to-zero spraying out. Happened to my first can, also. I don't know why this happens, but it's super annoying and I feel like my money's been wasted. I will be switching to a different dry shampoo after giving this a second go. It's not worth buying a third can.

I really tried to like this, but it's just not a good product. It doesn't really do anything to soak up oil and make my hair feel fresh. I find the smell to be decent and I like the concept, but it just doesn't do what it should! This was my first dry shampoo, so I don't really know what they are supposed to be like, but I'm sure this isn't it! I have had better results with just baby powder - it soaks up oil and gives me volume. I really love TRESemme's line of products, but this one isn't a winner.

I seriously hate this product. It makes my hair dry and leaves white residue. There is better dry shampoos.

I HATE this dry shampoo! It doesnt make my hair fresh or less oily at all. In fact, this makes the texture of my hair feel even worse! I followed the directions exactly and it was still terrible. I have yet to find a dry shampoo that will actually make my hair less oily. If anyone can recommend one that actually works, please let me know :)

This is my first dry shampoo purchase- I've mostly just used cornstarch baby powder in the past. I'm medium blonde with light blonde highlights around my face and very oily straight hair. I wanted something that would be easier to apply since I can sometimes overdo it with the powder and end up looking like I have dull, grey hair.

I didn't notice any smell- I think that regular cornstarch baby powder probably does a more thorough job of cleaning up my oily scalp, but I like how easy this was to apply and it didn't make my hair look white.

This is the second day after washing my hair and it still looks fine- it isn't a perfect product but for the price I'm satisfied with the purchase and will use it again. I'll update as I continue to use it.

So, this doesn't exactly make your hair feel *clean*---but, it definitely helps with skipping a day of actual shampooing. My hair is fine (but I have a lot of it), and it's wavy, though I can easily straighten it. I haven't tried this when my hair is straight (so I can't speak to that), but I really like it for when I wear it wavy. One of the things I like about it is something that many others might hate--and that's that it really thickens your roots. True, it makes your hair white and you have to comb that out, and you can't really run your fingers through your hair like when it's actually clean. The plus side for me is it takes away my oil, and texturizes my roots so that I can just style it and leave it and don't have to keep pushing my hair off my face. Smells good too.
Update: Lately I've been wearing my hair straight, which is actually what this product is made for. I'd say, not so good for straight hair in that you can't just run your fingers through it and it feels kinda gross--I removed a lippy for this. Fine if your hair just hangs or if you put it in a pony tail or something.
