I used this as a facial wash and as a body wash and I prefer to use it as a body wash. For a facial wash, it was a bit itchy to use and the smell wasn't that pleasant. It wasn't putrid but it was cloying. It didn't help with acne in my case but then again cleanser alone doesn't treat acne. As a body wash, it was pretty good but nothing earth shattering. I will not repurchase this.

my favorite face cleanser and also something I can't live without.
I bought a 1L bottle at Costco for $19.99 and now only 1/4 left.
At first, it did not impress me. I felt that it does not clean well as other cleansers, maybe too gentle. I have sensitive and dehydrated also acne-prone skin.
After using it for maybe a month I started love it and I still love it after I finished 3/4 of the 1L bottle. It is gentle but effective, I use it morning and night, for night, I use it after cleaning oil and it cleans well. It is soap free but it can get lot of lather to cover and massage when washing my face.
I like it better than PURPOSE, BASIC and Phisoderm soap-free cleanser and will repurchase again.

I saw this at Costco and had to try it. At first I thought this was great, but after a couple of days I just couldn't take the smell! UGH! I use J & J Head to Toe. I ended up giving this to my son and he loved it! I must say that as soon as my son ran out of this product, I did not repurchase. We found him something else and I no longer have to smell that again. You could say the smell is herbal, but slightly wintergreen like?
EDIT: I know, I know! It freakin' smells like Simple Green. UGH! continued >>
I have very sensitive skin as I'm on Tazorac and found this cleanser completely gentle. Didn't irritate my skin at all. However I wouldn't purchase again. It doesn't rinse off cleanly which is my principal complaint so my skin just never felt clean. My skin didn't look better nor did it look worse.
I think Purpose and Cetaphil work in much the same manner but rinse off a bit more cleanly.
As for the scent, I don't mind it at all. It's difficult to describe, sort of herbally (is that a word?), fresh and medicinal all at the same time.
I love this stuff. I got it at Costco about a week ago and am soo thrilled I found it. I have sensitive skin and this has worked wonders for my skin. It has a pH level of 5.5 , which is the same pH as healthy skin. So it doesnt leave your face feeling tight of stripped of moisture at all. I use it with my Clarisonic and it is a match made in heaven. I have looked around online and a 6.8 oz bottle of this goes for anywhere between 12 dollars and 18 dollars. Well the bottle I got at Costco is 33.8 oz and was $14.95!!! The best deal ever!!! I went back & got two more bottles at that price. I will continue to use this stuff. I also use it on my private lady parts and its awesome for that too!! continued >>

I picked this up thinking it might be good for my sensitive combo skin since it's ph balanced, hypoallergenic, and supposedly mild. I also liked that it was cruelty free. My cheeks felt like they were burning within a few seconds and my skin was quite dry after I rinsed it. I checked the ingredients after (I know, I know - the one time I didn't look before using!), and the bottle has 'fragrance' listed. I can't help but wonder why a serious company would put fragrance in something supposedly designed for sensitive skin, but maybe I was sensitive to another ingredient. It might work as a body wash, but I would not recommend using this on facial skin if one is sensitive.
c'est un très bon produit, mais difficile de le trouver en france!!

UPDATE:
Ok, now I don't like this as much. The smell is too spicy/musky for me and it doesn't do much for my skin.

I saw this at Costco, researched it on my phone, and bought it immediately.
I am really happy with Sebamed. I have normal/combo skin that is usually dealing with some moderate acne. After a few weeks, I can see that Sebamed is balancing my skin. I still moisturize with Olay after each wash (morning and night) because I don't like the tight feeling -- but I do my best not to over-moisturize by adding argan oil (a winter regimen). My skin is brighter and clearer, but I'm still battling some blackheads.
I also use Sebamed as a body wash for my chest and back. I'm not horribly acne prone in those areas, but they are very sensitive to perfume and hair products so I have to be careful! Sebamed is AMAZING for those areas. Even if I accidentally get perfume on my chest, I'm usually safe if I wash with Sebamed.
Definitely will be purchasing again.

Must have! After trying to find alternatives to BP (bc of research that it is damaging long-term, etc.) my skin was wrecked so I went back to BP with AcneFree (before I was using Dan Kern's) and then AcneFree Severe with little to no results. My mom gave me this wash and after using it consistently (morning/night) my skin cleared up almost immediately, I'd wake up with no new whiteheads. I've never seen anything work so fast on my acne. I love the smell and texture and it does remove stubborn face makeup (colorstay!).
