I don't think I need to add to the color descriptions, everyone has done it splendidly.
I have this in the eye basics and nude on nude shimmer palette.
Originally I tried to use it as a eyeshadow for outer v - big mistake. It was terribly difficult to blend and ended up very patchy, no matter what brush or applicator I used. then put it aside cos I couldn't get it to work. More recently I tried it again, but this time only as a liner - and what a difference it makes! I really love using it now! It is a lovely dark black brown and goes great with my NC20 skin and brown eyes. Lasting power is great and stays all day.
I rate this perfect as a great eyeliner which gives a softly smudged look. I am repeating the warning though, IMHO this is not good as an eyeshadow!

I use this as an eyeliner, and it is superb! Richly pigmented, applies smoothly and evenly. I always apply wet, and it lasts all day. Mahogany doesn't have an apparent undertone so looks fabulous with my blue eyes, whereas Rich Brown has a reddish tone to it, which is not good with my coloring, and that is why I chose Mahogany. It is just beautiful and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a deep brown liner.

I use this product as a liner versus an eyeshadow. It's perfect as a natural eyeliner look - Many people love wearing black eyeliner, but it looks very harsh on me - I prefer deep brown or deep bronze shades. Mahogany is also great on the eyebrows if you are a brunette and want a polished eyebrow look. Mahogay is my #2 favourite for a liner - MAC's Teddy is still my #1!!!

Great e/s. excellent to blend with other shimmer as smokey, or use it as liner for upper and lower lid (thats what i do). its a good shade to match with many other shades that BB offers. Like other, to make this a nicer e/l, would advise you to wet your eyeliner brush before tapping onto the pot, then apply! ~
I love this eyeshadow! It is versatile and can go from day to night with just a couple of swipes of the eyeshadow brush. One thing, it has a tendency to flake so you may want to put it on before your concealer.
Not the most exciting color in the world. Actually, this is probably one of the most boring colors in my already conservatively-geared stash. It also is the one I use the most, from brow color to eyeliner to eyeshadow to accenting the beauty mark above my upper lip. It is unbelievably essential to my everyday routine, and has amazing quality.
If you’ve read my review for NARS AAE you might wonder “jeez, why in the world would you rave about the most basic color that you could get in any cheap brand, and yet come down so harsh on a wonderful one-of-a-kind duo.” Simply put, quality and utility, disregarding name. (Can you tell I’m an Economics major?) Bobbi Brown eyeshadows are soft but not powdery, can be built up from the lightest wash to incredibly strong lines, have so much product so the price is reasonable, and wear. like. iron. This is essential—I can’t have half my eyebrow go missing in the middle of the day, and I hate it when eyeliner transfers. If I could get that color with that sort of quality in a cheap brand, I would. The fact is, I can’t, and so I’m willing to shell out $18 for a basic dark brown.
COLOR: Your basic, boring, matte ash-brown. Not warm, not cool, decidedly boring and absolutely essential. It’s what Switzerland strives to be.
OVERALL: HG eyeshadow, because it is so essential and of such high quality. I’m not likely to run out in the next decade, but I would repurchase because it’s perfect for what I need it to do. It’s that perfect pair of black slacks that do it all, hanging in the imaginary closet of the Everywoman: not sexy, but well-cut, of fabulous quality, flatters you, and goes with everything.
FYR: I am Asian, with neutral-warm, NC-20ish, with small pores and slightly oily skin. I have black hair which I have (attempted) to dye a dark red, and very dark brown eyes. continued >>

i had the hardest time finding the perfect chocolate brown w/o any red tones... everything was just too red! i had a hard time deciding between mahogany and espresso. mahogany is a great basic chocolate brown. if it had some shimmer in it, i'd be my dream chocolate eyeshadow. espresso was a lil too black. i tried mixing a regular medium brown shadow w/ black and it gave me espresso.

I got this as part of a palette. I use it as an eyeliner only, it's soft, buildable, easy to blend. This is a very dark brown eyeliner/shadow. Looks great on upper lash line to.

I've never used this as an actual shadow -- but, that said, I use it almost daily to fill in my brows. I love it! I will *never* be without it. It's the perfect shade, and it makes my brows look full and great. I have the split pan (bone/mahogany) and I'm not even close to hitting pan. Perfect! For reference, I'm an NC30 with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.
