Would i buy this again? Only if i needed to
I have the GHD Classic 1" styler and the GHD professional model

I've had drugstore irons and none get my hair this straight. most drug store irons are too hot or too cool and leave you with fried split ends and a lot of junk
These babies, more importantly the GHD professional model i have, don't do that!
Packaging, Ok i bought the original one from Planet Beauty for 185, w/ tax it was 200. the Pro one from Sephora for about 200 bucks w/ tax 214, pricey for an iron but you DO get what you pay for, i bought the limited edition one but it just comes with a bag and the iron and some clips, stuff i dont need. hahah (im a guy what do you expect) The adapter is universal voltage and the cord is a super long 9 foot cord. great ! the iron itself is tiny. it's about the length of a piccolo ? or a can of hair spray its very lightweight and portable. The iron itself heats up within literally i do not kid you, SECONDS, by the time i put my CHI serum into my hair its done, heck by the time i put the product into my HANDS its heated up. So onto the performance. The iron does not tug pull or pinch your hair which is very nice, it takes about 3 passes to get my hair magically straight. I notice that the pro GHD lets me do my hair in about 15 minutes, whereas the original GHD did my hair in about 20-30 so i like the pro one better. Not only can it straighten but it can flip and curl hair too. I curled my friends very long hair in about 30 minutes. they were nice big JUICY curls as i'd like to call them haha. Both irons feature an auto shut off feature if its not being used for 30 minutes so in case you forget to unplug it or turn it off it does by itself so you dont come back home to a burning house. .. but i would never forget to do that. Definately save your money to get this iron. Seriously. and if you can buy it from sephora(im not advertising them or whatever) i know they sell it full retail but if you hate the iron you can get a full refund. The GHD itself comes with a 1 or 2 year manufacturer's warranty so if it breaks you can send it in to be replaced or something. BEWARE of fake Irons, they run rampant throughout the market. If you find an iron thats advertised for under 100 dollars more than likely you'll be getting a fake iron, im sorry but seriously these irons are pricey and frequently copied. You can call the GHD hotline and ask them whether or not your styler is authentic or not. Only buy from authorized dealers ! HAppy Hair-ing :)

This hair straightener, is my savour. This hair straightener can do ANY hair style your looking for, weather it's straight, curly or wavy. Heats up fast, Packaging is REALLY cool, but its not really affordable, but totally worth it. It takes literally 20 seconds to heat up, and is so easy to use. You do not need to be a pro at hair styling, because its simple! I definately reccomend this!

Delivers perfect results every time without damaging or drying-out hair. Highly recommended. An understandable and well deserved cult status.

I don't know why I put off buying this for so long, actually I do know why - THE PRICE! I always thought it was too expensive and more about the brand than the price. Boy, was I wrong! This is a very good flat iron. Great for creating pin straight hair and then everything in between until you get to sexy Victoria's Secret inspired curls. I have the Green Envy set. This also came with a handy travel case which is quilted and absolutely adorable. With the right care, my GHD still looks as good as the day I bought it and there are no decreases in the quality of heat over time.

My Turbo Ion hair straightener died. I had the choice to get another Turbo (it worked quite well, I thought , until the day it didn't anymore, had lasted over 2 years) or maybe try out the ghd. I am a cheapskate on many levels but also believe that if you buy the best then you only cry once. After a week of research and google searches of "better than ghd" I came to the conclusion that there was a general consensus that while a number of other brands are excellent, nothing surpasses the ghd. I then had the task of finding one at a discount, because I am congenitally incapable of paying full price for anything.
Never did find one at % off, from any online wholesalers or closeouts- clever people those ghd folks, they know not to chip away at brand prestige though discounting. I did satisfy my inner miser by buying the Mark IV (one inch wide) instead of the Mark V that has just come out. It was cheaper by $100 or so, and the guy at the store said it had all the same features, just no gold sparkly housing (who cares) and the new one had sliiiiightly smoother plates.

Well I don't know how much smoother they could be! The ones on the Mark IV positively GLIDE. I tried the thing the next morning. Straightening my hair (from dry) took less than three minutes. My boyfriend, who was watching over his bacon and eggs (I do my straightening at the breakfast table- what, you don't?), was amazed. One pass through the plates for each section and my hair seemed to 'drop' into smoothness. My hair is medium texture to perhaps slightly coarse (I'm getting ooooooold!), and reaches the bottom of my shoulderblades. The front sections of my hair are, for some inexplicable reason, quite curly whereas the rest of my hair has waves, We're usually looking at ten, fifteen minutes. The ghd IV not only made it flat, it made it SHINY, and with no static at all. I added the microdroplet of generic silicone serum I always apply in the hope that my straight hair will make it through my commute and walk through the weather (and which, upon reflection, had never proved effective in this). I am at work now, having walked through the park for a half-hour, with a fairly stiff breeze and a little bit of head-sweatage from the physical effort, and MY HAIR LOOKS FREAKIN' FANTASTIC, smooooooth and silky neat and shiny.

So glad I finally shelled out. Should have done it in the first place!

I've had my ghd for so long and it works great! it has an indicator noise to notify you when it's at the right temp, which only takes seconds. It personalizes to the temp you need so no more putting the heat all the way up. Major mistake for most, pretty much just frying your hair when it's at 400 degrees. It also shuts off after 15 minutes of not being used, so I never have to wonder on those super rushed days if I left it on at home, or more often when people want to borrow it and leave it on all night long!

Love my ghd so much. I bought the 'Precious' pack a couple of years ago because I love anything with sparkles! :D
Still works as brilliantly as the day I got it and I love the case it came with. I will never buy another straightener. I wanted the white one SO BAD when it came out but couldn't justify another $300 just for a colour change, lol.

Best hair straighter out there (also good as a hair curler). It straightens like a dream, no need to go back and re-straighten a section because it gets each strand of hair the first time without looking frizzy. Doesn't give me kinks after straightening and my hair doesn't look fried either. Still haven't quite mastered the curled hair yet with this, but there are tutorials on youtube on how to do so. Is an investment since ghd's are quite expensive, but worth it because mine has lasted me forever.

got mine from sephora recently and couldn't wait to try it out. i have straight hair naturally but i have these annoying flips at the ends of my hair that my previous flat iron (a drug store brand) could not eliminate. i've long desired the pin straight flawless look and one pass of this flat iron gave it to me! and it felt soo silky after as welll. i feel like im going to become addicted to this iron!! the tool itself is very sleek and heats up extremely quickly so i loved that.
One cautionary note when buying this online: there are many knock-offs out there. i originally bought one from a fake ghd look-alike site as it was considerably cheaper (that alone should have alerted me) but one google search after made me cancel that purchase immediately.
anyway ...i'm thoroughly enjoying my new love affair with the ghd gold series straightener
