Pretty, buttery white floral. Unfortunately, something in this turns sour on me. The "off" note eventually subsides, but it's not worth the wait, especailly since this sort of fragrance isn't really "me."
Exquisite! Love at first whiff. I've always loved the scent of gardenias and this delivers. Too bad it's so darn expensive.

I've owned and worn this scent for quite some years now. At first, all I noticed was the lovely tuberose-gardenia loveliness. Others mentioned a plastic-y note, but at the time I honestly didn't experience that at all.
I was perfectly happy with it for a long time, but the last few times I've worn it, I've noticed the plastic quality, and find it hugely distracting and not lovely.
Is it a matter of my own skin chemistry? the scent itself? the age of the bottle? I have no idea what might be going on.
I've even wondered if the liquid in the spray tube might have aged badly, so the last few times I've worn it, I've sprayed the scent just to clear the tube before I apply it to myself, and still I get the plastic note.
I pull it out to try again from time to time, but this one's turned out to be a disappointment that makes me sad.
Lovely fragrance. At first it was a magic carpet ride of scent. Tuberose mostly. Very tropical. Loved it. Wanted to buy it right then and there, but due to allergies went into test first mode.
It continued full blast, and I began to have a headache.
Much as I love some Estee Lauder perfumes, the ones I like, this and Beyond Paradise give me a sick headache after an hour or so.
Otherwise I'd buy this. Fortunately I used a tester on two separate occaisions, and took a small tester vial home with me.
For anyone with perfume headaches, watch out for this one, and test well before buying.
One last warning-----Don't spritz this one on if you are going to be in an enclosed space (office, church, elevator, bus, long car rides) for the sake of others--it is heavy and sweet and very very powerful.

This really is a wonderfully blended fragrance. The gardenia and tuberose scents smell like they should and are not cloying. The fragrance starts off with a blend of lilac and rosewood on me. Then it becomes strong with gardenia and a hint of tuberose and jasmine. The drydown on me is lushious tuberose. Scent lasts about 4 hours on me. When you first spritz this on, the scent is very powerful but give it 15 minutes or so and it will settle down.
I'm sitting in our home office right now with the windows open and the evening breeze blowing in. Something is coming in that smells wonderful. Oh, what do you know, it's me! I applied a drop or two of Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia edp a few hours ago. I'm very picky about gardenia fragrances. This one smells fairly true to the real blossom but it's not my favorite gardenia fragrance, nor my favorite tuberose either. Still it's very pretty if that's exactly what you're looking for. No, what I love about this fragrance is what it blooms into on my skin hours later - a gorgeous white floral fragrance with a lot of crisp greenery in it, that is not screechy and that just smells divine. I do have Fracas, but I can see this one replacing that in my wardrobe. I love surprises. I imagine the extrait in that very pretty bottle is amazing stuff, too.

Estee Lauder's Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is a perfect blend of tuberose and gardenia - very true and not at all cloying. Beautiful!
This is a lovely Summer perfume which develops beautifully on my skin. I can't smell any neroli in the topnotes, but the opening burst of lilac is truly beautiful. My favourite part of Tuberose Gardenia is the first hour when it is a blend of lilac and orange blossom on my skin. It develops into a very elegant gardenia with just a little jasmine - I can't detect any tuberose - and finally dries down into a light vanilla-based floral. Lasts about 4 hours on me and has only moderate sillage. Gorgeous!
Gardenia/Tuberose and I have a love/hate relationship. I love the smell of fresh tuberose and living in Hawaii I know exactly what that smells like-absolutely beautiful. Lot of fragrances with tuberose however, end up smelling cloying and horrid and nothing like the real thing. That was one of the reasons why for the longest time I dismissed this scent as yet another cloying, overhyped, overpriced disaster. However, I was killing some time at Nordstrom's the other day and decided to try it for the heck of it. Whow! This is gorgeous! Smells exactly like real flower which I adore. I only tried it once so I would definately need to try it several times before buying it since its pretty pricey. Unfortunaly, I already know that my DF is going to hate it since he can't stand anything with gardenia. Sign. Perhaps I can wear it at work or something because I'm itching to buy it.
