This review is for the Loves Smoothing Conditioner not Curling.
I have baby fine but tons of it hair and this conditioner has become my new saving grace. Definitely my HG now and I've tried them all from FF, Terax, Johnathan, Phyto, to drugstore brands and midend brands.
I love that the products are as eco conscious as possible and they make my hair feel amazing! My hair is naturally wavy but this conditioner combined with the matching shampoos has worked wonders on my hair. It really has made a difference and has allowed me to actually wash my hair less because my blow outs last so many days longer now then with any other poo and dish.
The smell is fantastic. It fades a bit during styling but leaves just enough lingering at the end to get you some major compliments.
The smaller bottles are a definite rip off so i get the salon liters of these. And yes the bottles are never filled to the top but trust me you are getting the same amount of product listed on the container.
This conditioner gives just the right amount of slip after rinsing which I love but definitely doesn't make my hair feel heavy at all. My hair is mid back length right now but the last time I went in for a haircut my stylist said I really didn't need one because my hair was actually in very very good condition, so I was able to wait a couple more months. I really think the Davines line had alot to do with that.
i have long, thick and dry hair and you name the conditioner - i've tried it: terax, kerastase, the entire frederic fekkai ouvre, komenuka bijinm, ojon, kiehl's, anything at fred segal, barney's and even some drugstore stuff... this is my favorite. was turned onto it at chris mcmillan in beverly hills and it replaced my fekkai regimine.
it smells great and doesn't linger in an overpowering way. not sure what the complaints about the packaging are..it isn't fancy, but it's easier to access in a tub and i'd rather save money on simple packaging than get my conditioner in a hoity toity bottle. also, i have gone through several large tubs of these as well as the smaller ones while traveling abroad and domestically with no problems. you would really have to seriously manhandle these to crack them?
it's also cheaper than any other nice conditioner.
This did absolutely nothing. Oh sure, it made my ends sticky and smell bad. If that's there idea of controlling frizz, no thanks. Horrible cheap product. Very drying, smelled bad, poor packaging. I have nothing good to say about any of the Davines products I've tried. Unfortunately my salon has recently switched over to this line exclusively. I guess I'll be looking for a new stylist.
I bought the conditioner for straight hair and boy am I surprised - because I don't like it at all! First, the smell really bothers me. Even after I switched to another conditioner, it still lingered in my hair for two washes. This is far too heavy for everyday use, I guess i could use it once a week, but again - I can't take that smell !!! I've put it away and will give another try when I run out of Phytojojoba shampoo and John Masters Citrus & Neroli detangler which I absolutely love. I'm giving this 2 lippies not 1 because I believe (and it is clear from other reviews) that it still can work for people with thicker hair.
Love, love, love this conditioner! It so moisturizing, and the smell is absolutely divine! I hate the packaging, but I bought little bottles from the drugstore and fill them up from the Davines bottle, and that works a little better. I think they should improve the packaging to make this product a real winner, because the stuff isn't cheap. However, I will take the good with the bad because the conditioner is soooo awesome!
This review is for Davine's Lovely Curl Enhancing Conditioner. What a great product! I was using Bumble & Bumble Curl (which is very good) and Davine's is every bit as good and costs less. I have thick curly hair & Davine's moisturizes it nicely, giving it great massive curls. The only reason I rate it at 4 is due to the lousy packaging. The container is made of hard plastic that easily splits. I've used 2 tubs so far and each time the plastic has broken & the conditioner oozed out. But in spite of this flaw, this is great stuff & compared to B & B nicely priced. Highly recommended for thick curly hair.
This is for the Love-Curly. This smells fantastic, so absolutely WONDERFUL! My hair is always super soft and bouncy after using it. I am very pleased with this product. I happen to like the tub too, I only scoop out exactly what I will use.
Love this stuff, it is working great for my thick curly hair! Although the container is tough to trave with as it broke in my suitcase-but i just found out they make travel sizes. I used to only use aveda products on my hair, and never thought I would switch. But the Davines line is really amazing and gives my hair great control without weighing it down or adding wierd texture. I also use the shampoo and stying cream-love the combo of all three!
The pricing for this product rivals those of Kerastase and perhaps a little higher than Redken but I am so in love with Davines products at the moment it's awesome. The fragrance like so many others have said is light, fresh and pleasant. It's thick and suits my coarse, wavy/curly thick hair just great. I use this in conjunction with the curly hair serum and it cuts out the frizzies by half and gives me nicely defined curls.
I have been using this product along with the shampoo about 4 months, I just bought my 2nd tub. LOVE this stuff. I have tried EVERYTHING. I am little crazed about getting that perfectly silky, shiny, just did a commerical hair. This is the closest I have found. Doesn't feel like anything special in the shower, but I always have a good hair day when I use this. Smell is fabulous light and last's through the day, but doesn't interfer with perfume. Pricey but worth it! Update: I can't use this all the time after a few months makes the hair to dry, but I still use this about twice a week
Update: Don't use this at all anymore, just not moisturizing enough...the search continues.
