I was frustrated after trying most foundation in sephora and macy's to suite oily skin needs. I read some reviews on this stuff and decided why not? The shade selection is very limited. If you do not have yellow undertones or if you have darker skin, you may have a difficult time finding a shade. At my local target they only had 4 or 5 shades. I am a NC 30, which is not too dark but I do have yellow tones. I picked up blonde and it is the second DARKEST shade there.. Luckily there was a guy there who worked for boots to test it out on me because it looks very dark in the jar! But is very light on my skin. I could go for a slightly darker shade, but this works with bronzer.Make sure to test it out before you purchase. Anyways, this foundation is far better than MUFE Matte velvet and LM silk creme. Loved it...just not too sure about the color selection. It did pretty well with my incredibly oily skin and the coverage is great. I love that it gives a beautiful finish rather than a flat and dull one. I would say try it out!
I bought this product last week from Target for $13.99 in the color 15 Buff. Today was the first day that I could test out this foundation. I was excited to try it because the sales girl that was promoting Boots really sold me and told me that it would counteract my naturally oily skin. So I applied it with my Sonia Kashuk duo fiber stippling brush. After an hour or so after applying the foundation I went to see me boyfriend. Within a few minuted to talking to him he said "Babe you put on too much makeup". He then continued to try to wipe the makeup off of my face with his hand. He said that I looked "powdery" and "unnatural". My boyfriend has never made those comments, or any comments for that matter, about my foundation makeup. Clearly if he thinks its noticeably bad, then it must be. I will be returning this product and I will not repurchase.

Finally a colour for lighter skin shades! It is my perfect colour, after years of looking too orange with the lightest shades of every other makeup brands (even MAC who have a ridiculous number of shades!)
Not only this but it is a gorgeous foundation, goes on sort of liquid and then powdery, makes your skin look flawless! I have slightly dry skin and I think this foundation is on the dry side, but that's OK with me because I think oily foundation ALWAYS ends up looking bad at the end of the day, and if I moisturise properly underneath to prep the skin then it goes on lovely.
I think the pricing is fair as to me, it's much better than the more expensive ones out there.

I have just bought this foundation today. I have just tried it out and I have to say I LOVE it!
I've lived by my MAC Studio Fix Fluid for years but started to feel like it made my skin look too matte and was in search for a foundation that gave a dewy finish. However, after looking all over and reading reviews I found most 'luminous' foundations are for dry skin therefore not suitable for oily/combination skin (mine is combination) as it can make your skin too oily :(
After reading many reviews of the No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation I finally bought it in New Ivory (which is the lightest shade) and it definitely lives upto my expectations. It gave my skin a smooth finish so bye bye dry looking skin and I kind of feel it that it makes me look younger (this may be due to the fact that this shade actually matches my skin tone and I usually go for a darker shade than my own :l) but also because it locks in moisture I have less lines on my face (e.g laughter lines), as with my MAC foundation my skin would be so matte around my normal/dry areas such as around my mouth that when I laugh the lines would stay.
The best thing about this foundation is the feel of it on my skin. This is the first mousse I have used, but it is oh so smooth on application and it feels velvety to the touch :)
However, it has a couple of downsides. If you smell the product in the tub it does have a weirdish smell but once I applied it to my face I could not smell it on my face at all!
I obviously haven't used it enough to see if it broke me out so time will tell. But my first impressions are very good and I may be visiting boots very soon to get the next darker shade and maybe mix it with the colour I have? - because there is only the choice of 4 shades there is quite a difference from one shade to the next - so 'Buff' would be too dark for me :(
Also, not sure why mine has a white lid? on the website/reviews they all have a black lids so I hope I haven't got old stock :s oh well <3 it too much to care :)

I have had a lot of foundations woes. It seems impossible to find a foundation that offers good coverage, wont break me out, doesn’t shine after an hour, and is light enough for my ghostly complexion with undertones that are more yellow/neutral instead of pink. I checked out a lot of different brands and couldn’t bring myself to pay for something so expensive that offered me only one of the things I needed. I ran across this on the target website and looked up reviews for it. Almost every review raved about how light and silky this was while still offering medium/full coverage in a matte form that didn’t aggravate their skin. It sounded too good to be true but I thought I would check it out anyways. I went to target and bought the lightest shade new ivory. When I opened the jar it looked like it would be too dark and was sad that I would probably have to return it. I tried it out anyways with fingers crossed that by some chance it would match. The shade actually applied much lighter than what it looks like in the jar and it’s practically a perfect match! After applying it and wearing it I can tell you that I am in love with this foundation. It offers everything I want at a reasonable price ($14). Whats also great is you barely need any at all to cover your entire face with full coverage. I only need to lightly powder now to stay shine free for hours and before I would need to powder again 30 mins later. It also hasn't aggravated my existing acne or broke me out compared to colorstay. The only downfalls to this is because it is matte it can emphasize dryness on your skin, not terribly, but it can still be annoying. I found the same with other foundations before this too. It also only has maybe 4 or 5 colors in the range. Luckily mine works perfectly ( I was using Revlon colorstay ivory before this but it was too pink.)I also enjoy applying this because it feels luxurious, as if I'm applying velvet to my face. I am in love with this foundation and if you are looking for what I was looking for I would highly recommend that you give this a shot

Great product, blends very easily, covers but still looks like your skin, can be layered for a more full makeup look. Velvety finish and stays on all day but almost turns a slight dewy look by end of day which I have no problems with. I use a flat top kabuki to blend and I absolutely love this foundation I wear the shade blond 20 and is a perfect shade. Very nice packaging frosted glass and sleek black lid with gold, plus made in France so its a high quality product.
I wear and try a ton of different foundations, but this is my first mousse. The packaging is a frosted glass jar with a shiny black lid, very Chanel-esque and luxe, especially for a "drugstore" brand. It also comes with a small plastic spatula for scooping the product out, so you don't have to worry about unsanitary fingers in the jar, or not being able to reach the last bits of product. I bought New Ivory, which is the lightest shade. The foundation itself is lovely - a very thick, spongy, creamy mousse that dries to a velvet finish. Medium coverage that can be built. This gives a "flawless finish" beautiful matte look that would work nicely for a vintage or pinup look. My skin tends to be dry, but this foundation works for me because I exfoliate and moisturize religiously. I don't use a primer underneath, and this gives a lovely finish that lasts all day and stays matte. In my experience, you need to use a synthetic flat top brush (like ELF flat top powder) or a sponge. I've tried stippling with my MAC 187 and my ELF stipple brush, and it looks streaky and doesn't blend properly. The foundation isn't liquid enough to truly stipple, you need to"buff it if applied with a brush. The price is a little high for a drugstore brand (around $13-$15), but about the same as some L'Oreal foundations and still much cheaper than Makeup For Ever, Lancome, or MAC. Overall I am extremely pleased with this for a drugstore foundation, and I will definitely repurchase.

I've been using only powdered mineral foundation for the last few years (I love Meow; inexpensive and very few ingredients). Liquid foundation makes my touchy skin clog and break out. For some reason I can't explain, I picked up Boots No. 7 Intelligent Balance Foundation Mousse in New Ivory (a very neutral tone). It's amazing. It's thin and lightweight, and it doesn't make me break out but does give me great coverage. It's one of the few foundations that doesn't look like it's just sitting on top of my skin, and it's even better with a little moisturizer mixed in. I'm not thrilled about dipping into the foundation jar (not sanitary) but I'd absolutely buy this again.

I didn't know quite what to expect when I purchased this. Even though it is called mousse, when I first felt it on my face it seemed more like a powder. When you spread the product evenly across the face THEN it feels like mousse. The transformation is really cool. I like this because a thin film covers very well and looks natural. It is also easy to have a more dolled up glamorous look if you put on an extra coat.
The shade matches my skin perfectly (I am number 20 "Blonde"), but I think I was just lucky. There are only 6 or 7 shades total offered in this line. I am the second to the darkest. I think the darkest shade is called "roasted almond" or something similar.
BIG +: usually mousse texture foundations rub off easily and transfer onto clothes...this one doesn't do that! YAY
Also, the price is really good because it is one full ounce (other drug store brands and department store brands as well are never one ounce. They are usually between .3 -.6 ounces)so this is a steal for $13.00.
