Very good and durable eyelash curler.
I bought mine on the summer of 2010 and I am on the second refill, which comes with it.
I use it every day. I have long lashes, but they are straight. This curler gives it a nice look.

This curler can make your lashes look beautiful, with the right method. For me I find it best to start at the roots of my lashes and then "walk" the curlers up towards the tips, while at the same time changing the angle of the curlers so that you get a, well, curl. At each "stop", I only hold the curlers down for about 2-3 seconds but don't press too hard because if I do, I get a crimp in my lashes.
However like a lot of other curlers, it can pinch your lid (maybe easier on my hooded eyes?), it can crimp your lashes if you're not careful, and the shape is not "one-suits-all-eye-shapes", as they'd have you believe. For my eye shape for example, this curler doesn't catch the lashes at the very end of my outside corners - no matter what.
I bought the Shiseido curlers to try them out and see if they work better, and surprise surprise, THE SHU UEMURA AND SHISEIDO CURLERS ARE IDENTICAL! In shape, size, design, how they perform, in absolutely everything but the brand name inscripted on them. While the full price is the same for both (£18,) I felt I should mention it, in case you find one rather than the other on offer someplace.
In conclusion, a very good curler but not a miracle worker and not unique.

I swear by this/ It's worth every cent! I've been using Shu Uemura curlers since I've been 18 and I'll be 30 soon. I would never try another brand.

Ok, I know this eyelash curler is one of the most overhyped products in beauty existence, but it really does the job! I have the shortest, stubbiest lashes in existence, but this curler really helps to create and hold a lasting curl. All it takes me is a couple of swipes with the curler to create a curl with no crease lines. The best way in my experience to use it to first curl the base of your lashes for 10 seconds, then moce curler up to the middle of your lashes, for another 10 seconds, and finally repeat this motion to the tips of your lashes. I do this nearly every single day and it works! The curler never feels uncomfortable or pinchy, it's so easy to use. Definitely worth the hype!

I have used this curler for 2 years, and I used to be frustrated because my lashes didn't look that curled. As I've "grown up" in make up knowledge, I realized I wasn't curling my lashes close enough to the base of my lid to be effective. When I tried to do that with this curler, epiphany #2 was that this curler does not fit my eye shape. It is a great curler, never broke on me, however I need to find one that is much more rounded. This is probably best for almond shaped eyes.

Love this product! its hands down the best eyelash curler, achieves the best curl and doesnt hurt my eyelashes/pinch my eye, and fits my eye perfectly..i would suggest changing the pads every few months, helps maintain the curler..I've had it for 2 years, and its still doing great!
i bought it for about 27$ with taxes at Holt Renfrew-Canada, like others have said, a bit pricy for a curler, but trust me its amazing!! definitley an HG product in my eyes.

I absolutely cannot live without this product! I have long lashes BUT they're straight with no type of curl. So I need have to curl them. I've tried many eye lash curls and I can honestly say this one is the best! & works for me. continued >>

its a good curler but very overrated, this one even if it has asian name on it but it is made for non asian face shape / eye shape. its very curvy and not recommend for asian flatter shape . i prefer shiseido.

While I haven't used many other eyelash curlers, so I can't compare this to others, I love what this does for my lashes. My lashes are already pretty curly, but I can get away with not even wearing mascara if I curl them with this lash curler.

Not all eyelash curlers are created equal - because this one is hands down the best. I thought any eyelash curler, high or low end, could do the job (well, *should* do the job) given that the mechanics of an eyelash curler should be relatively straightforward - I was wrong. After years of randomly buying an array of mid-market curlers and wondering why none of them really worked for my poker straight, short lashes, I finally bit the bullet and tried this one. Two words: Holy. Grail.

The width and shape of the curler simply works around my eyes and feels comfortable and never 'pinchy'. I merely have to hold down the pad for a few seconds on my lashes to create sky high curl, which will stay the whole day even without mascara (actually, it holds better without mascara because there's no product to weigh the lashes down - but there's no volume, only curl). It feels comfortable and unintrusive (as much as an eyelash curler can be I suppose) and is super easy to use. I never feel like I'm going to gouge my eyes out or cut my lashes off. It simply works and works very well. HIGHLY recommended.
