I'm suprised by Le Male's reputation as a strong, obnoxious, in-your-face "sexy" scent. To my nose, it's sweet, powdery, and comforting; talcum powder mixed with old-school shaving foam and a splash of lavender bubble bath, with maybe a grind of black pepper on top. As it dries it gets sweeter and more flowery, with a dry vanilla/orange blossom edge. Although it's marketed (rather unsubtly) as a men's fragrance, it has such a blatant feminine edge - flowery, powdery, sweet - that I consider it totally unisex.

I tried it out of curiosity at a department store a few months back and couldn't stop sniffing my arm as I walked around the mall afterwards. I had to have a bottle, and now it's a struggle to get myself to spray anything else on my neck in the morning. The lasting power is excellent, and it clings to my clothes and jacket as well as my skin - I love catching random whiffs of it throughout the day. Oh yeah, and chicks definitely "dig it" - I constantly get compliments on from the opposite sex when I wear this (although I'm gay - go figure). I can see where a heavy hand would make Le Male nauseating, so go easy when you spray it, but in the right amount this stuff is delicious.

EDIT: Having branched out into more spicy, dark, rich, musky, and complex scents (and more scents, period), I don't love Le Mâle as much as I used to. The powdery sweetness gets to me after a while and I don't think it really suits me. I spritz it on from time to time and usually wish I was wearing something else. Obsession for Men covers some of the same powdery-vanilla territory, but it's spicier and woodier and far less sweet. Downgraded this to 3 lippies - it's a quality scent, just not my thing anymore.

ah, the gay sailor perfume. i remember the ad, of the beautiful muscled boy with tattoos of flowers around his nipples! i have a friend who has worn this for many years, and he wears it perfect - not too much. i recently went to the JPG counter with my boyfriend to test it on him (he was looking for a new scent) and the SA was very enthusiastic with the spraying. i have to agree with some of the reviewers here... a little overdone, and it indeed smells a whole lot like bug spray. walking around the store with my over-scented guy, i was reminded of that huge, disgusting, ugly cockroach i annihilated with ridsect (a local bug repellant) just the other night. so in short, it's sexy, warm, unassuming... in small doses.

Received a sample from Sephora and gave to my husband - we both loved this woody oriental scent and I bought a bottle for him. Not a huge fan of the bottle (or the name) but who cares, it smells delicious.

Notes:
Wormwood, Bergamot, Cardamom, Lavender, Orange Blossom, Cinnamon, Cumin, Wood, Musk, Amber, Vanilla, Tonka Bean

I recieved a sample of this with my last Sephora order, and my bf used it up quickly. It is a beautiful scent, masculine yet delicate also. In spite of the ridiculous name, I would purchase this product again.

My BF has this, and while I do find that other colognes work better with his chemistry this still does smell very good & he always gets compliments on it (from other women, haha). While it is masculine for certain, something about it strikes me as feminine, but I cannot pinpoint it. It is a musky scent IMO more so than crisp or clean. I also find it to be more of a juvenile scent. This makes me think of "guy in a club" more than "the man at the office" but thats just me. It can be very strong when over-applied, I have definitely gotten a headache from this one before. There is no denying the sex appeal of it though, so its worth a sniff in any event. continued >>

If I had a man, I would certainly buy this for him, because it's a deliciously soft, yet definitely masculine fragrance. It doesn't send me into a tizzy of lust, but I have yet to find a fragrance that does.

This frag blows me away. It's as simple as that.
When I was in High School, a guy I was desperately in love with wore it every day. I was drooling over him like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately the feeling wasn't mutual, so the image this scent brought to my mind ever since was "untouchable gorgeous man".
Recently my dad started wearing it; needless to say that was enough to shed the fantasies I had connected this frag with to pieces:-D I tried to get my bf to buy it so that I could bring them back, but he was like "are you serious, your father wears this, no way in hell". I have to admit he was right.
Anyway if you are a guy, go out and buy asap ;-) If you are a girl, this will make your significant other good enough to eat :-)

My huband has been wearing this for a few years, and I love it. Initially, I couldn't think straight after seeing the bottle. It's a masterpiece! It's spectacular! It's genius! When I could finally see past the bottle, I realized the scent is so manly and sexy. The tin can it comes in is so unexpected and rugged. Love It!

This is a nice, male parfum. Smells sweet and sexy. I found it more a summer-fragnace then an all season fragnance.
The package is art!
