This product isn't exactly crap in a bottle, but pretty close to it. I tried it on my relaxed hair and natural hair, both wet and dry, and nothing. I don't know what's in it that my hair didn't like, but it just wasn't for me.
I tried this product on dry (unrelaxed) hair, and found that it caused my hair to revert! I was so disappointed with it, in fact, that I contacted the company and they actually issued me a refund of my purchase price.
Moreover, I love the scent of Pantene's *regular* line. Unfortunately, that is NOT the scent used in this product - which was also a big disappointment.
When I want to use an oil moisturizer on my hair now, I opt for the Olive Oil Moisturizing Lotion by Organic Root Stimulator. MUCH better!

I am African-American w/ naturally curly hair. I use this product everyday after I condition and then add some light gel! It does wonders for my curls when wet. Other products that are oil creams/lotions are too heavy. Pantene as a shampoo/conditioner line doesn't do well, but this cream is perfect. I saw the other reviews where women used it on dry hair (vs. wet hair) and it didn't work so well. I've used the expensive stuff and this $3.50 bottle does the trick for my curls, keeping them well-defined and moisturized!!!
omg this stuff did not work on my relaxed hair. im aa and i get my hair relaxed every six wks and this has mineral oil in it. it kinda dried out my hair a lil. wont be buying this again.
A curly haired friend of mine recommended this product, and I absolutely love it. While the packaging says this product is “for women of color,” I have found that it tames my Caucasian, thick, coarse hair. I like to combine it with gel for definition, but it alone adds weight and control to my hair. I have bought it again and I use it daily on wet hair. It is easy to apply-I use about a nickel size amount on my long hair. I highly recommend!
I have hair that is long (bra strap length) colored, normal to thin in thickness, slightly wavy , dry/damaged and slightly coarse and I am caucasian. Since cold weather is here and I am back to blowdrying my hair is not cooperating. I bought this because I thought it was regular conditioner. I was pleased it was so thick but when I applyed it in the shower it was like puting paste on my hair and my hair felt like straw!!! I immediatley rinsed and used my reg. conditioner. However, if I use this a a leave in product (in place of my silicone serum) I get great results. I use a pea sized amount,( I have to use this very, very lightly!) rub in between my hands and smoothe over my ends and halfway up the length of my hair. It seems to absorb in (unlike silicone serum) and leaves my hair soft and shiny and moisturized. To much though I'm sure would leave my hair heavy, greasy and gross. May be a real good overnight treatment as opposed to reg olive oil which can be messy. So I geuss this is a keeper even though its not what I had expected.
This product is average. It moisturizes my very dry hair, but only if I put it on while it is damp. It must be used sparingly, or any other product used in conjunction will cause your hair to look white-ish with buildup. I really dislike the new fragrance pantene is using, it is too perfumey. This product also caused my face to break out if I rolled onto my hair while sleeping.
There are things I love and hate about this product.
I will not use it on dry hair. It's too...heavy. I will use it if I am putting my hair in a ponytail, or put in on the night before and sleep on it, and it's fine in the morning. It has soaked in.
BUT it is FANTASTIC on my wet hair. After using the Relaxed and Natural conditioner, I slather this on while my hair is wet, comb through it, and usually stick it on a ponytail. This way lets me air dry my hair and not end up with a big, dry, afro. When my hair has dried, its moisturized and just lovely! This has made my relaxers last much longer (I'm at 8 weeks, and you can't even tell. Usually by 6 my hair is a hot mess), plus my hair is healthier from not having to blow dry it.
The smell will knock you out. soon after applying it appears its going to quench your hair's thirst but when the product ''soaks in'' it dries your hair out. It doesnt really penetrate. And it gave my hands a rash.
I love this product! I am white w/ thick, curly, dry hair. This is the product that I always go back to when my hair is too dried out from coloring and just plain unruly. A little goes a long way - size of a quarter for my shoulder length hair. It makes my hair soft, shiny, and curly. The only complaint is that the perfume is a little on the strong side - it is the same perfume used in the whole Pantene product line-up.
