I really tried to like this product. But like a previous reviewer, this product dried out my hair. I have thin, fine, curly, frizzy hair and this product just dried it out. And this is while my hair was air drying. I didn't care for the fragrance at all. For me, it smelled earthy/chemically, like the scent of freshly dug up damp soil after a rain. I'm returning this product to the store the first chance I get! It was a disappointment. Now I have to find a deep conditioning hair mask/pack..... [sigh...]

I used this product when I was in middle school... Back then, I got it because I had a disastrous perm and needed to tame the frizz... Now I use it because it leaves my hair soft, and it allows it to hold simple styling.

My hair is stick straight, very healthy, almost no products no hair drying, no styling. My gripe is that any time I try to style, my hair reverts to its normal straight look right away- even a curling iron's work only lasts about 2 hours with my hair. But when I use silk groom, (just between a dime and nickle sized amount), rubbed into the ends and half way up when the hair is still damp, it retains its curl for much longer. I generally don't bother with a curling iron, I just throw it into a bun, and a few hours later, I have thick, huge curls that STAY and my hair feels soft and looks shiny, plus doesn't get damaged by heat.

Totally recommended. It's not an everyday item yet, but I like using it for special events, and I'll probably end up using it more and more now that I've rediscovered it.

This product is great! It really conditions and leaves hair silky and shiny. It has a slight chai-like scent but does not stay on hair once on damp hair and dried. Doesn't weight hair down if you use a small amount..which is all you need anyway (it's very rich). I'm a product junkie..but this one has got to be the best so far!

Love this stuff. You can't use alot though or you will get limp hair. But have natural wavy hair and this tend to make it very soft with no tangles. I put a small amount on wet hair, comb, and air dry. Then style in the morning with a few spritzes of styling spray. Yes I am lazy LOL but it comes out great!!

For me this was an okay styling cream. It gave weight to my curls and held them together for a few days. It has a chai tea scent to it so I guess that makes it more of a unisexed product. Took a while to get the last bit out of the container.

I am fairly sure that the proteins in this made my hair feel brittle after a few uses. I have wavy shoulder length color treated hair that can frizz in humidity and get fly aways in dry air. This might be OK for occasional use~but I have a DS mousse that I like much better (Aussie). I use a diffuser to dry.

This is an excellent product for eliminating frizz and allowing your hair to hold its style, without *feeling* any type of hold. :) As some others have said, you do need to conduct a few trial and error sessions for yourself, to get a feel for what amount works for you/your hair type. I have fine, wavy, bra-strap length hair that is prone to frizz in humid conditions.. and flyaways in dry conditions. I only need a pea sized amount, which I rub into my palms and then distribute into the bottom half of my hair.. and then any leftover "residue" from my hands, into my long bangs. The scent is slightly icky.. but also very subtle and once it's in your hair, you won't smell it at all. It's just a mild "natural" scent with a hint of mint (which is what helps it not be totally gross). :) I've had my bottle for about two years now, and I'm not even halfway through. I wouldn't use this every day, as it can build up and not provide optimal results that way! But 2-3 times a week seems fine. I like this much more than the silk straightening heat protectant.

I tried this today on my coarse grey (but dyed for years) hair. Just to let you know I am 2 days away from dying my hair again and it's at it's worst. I applied a small amount, about the size of a dime. I didn't limit it to the ends of my hair since it's humid out today and I get alot of frizz. This stuff is great and I have tried soooo many products. I currently have been using Frederick Fekkai's Glossing creme. My hair was noticeably softer, smoother and silkier. I used this along with the new Sunflower Preserving Shampoo, so maybe that also added to the softness and improvement in texture.

I've been using this for years. I frequently get highlights and can't stand the dried-out ends that go along with it. I apply this creme on my ends while my my hair is wet and then blow dry. No more frizzies! Use sparingly and avoid using towards your roots, or your hair will look greasy.

I also can't understand why Creme with silk Groom isn't rated higher. It is the only product that I have tried (and I have tried soooo many) that makes my very thick, coarse, dry, grey but dyed for years, shoulder length hair look healthy, pretty and groomed. I think the amount used is critical - not enough and it makes no difference - too much and your hair looks greasy. It's a matter of trial and error and I have settled at a hazelnut sized blob all over an then another big pea sized one through the ends. Thoroughly recommend.
