This product is amazing! I have color treated, heat styled, bra strap length hair. For a long time, I was using a salon brand of shampoo and conditioner that was straight up destroying my hair. Along with all the damage I was inflicting on it too, it seemed hopeless. From about mid-shaft to the ends, my hair was a overly porous, tangled, fly-way mess and embarrassment. No amount of product could give it back that strong, healthy shine and manageablity, until now.

I washed with Nexxus' Therappe shampoo, towel dried my hair and applied this product all over, especially focusing on the ends. I let it sit for an hour without heat, rinsed well with luke-warm water, and conditioned with Humectress conditioner.

When my hair was air drying, I was worried. My hair was still a poofy, tangled mess, although I could tell it seemed stronger than before. After flat-ironing is where I could REALLY tell a difference! It's like I just got back from the salon. My hair looks HEALTHY and SHINY. It's not tangled in the slightest (just woke up and haven't brushed my hair yet) and is laying beautifully in this humidity (no weird sucking up the humidity and growing like my overly porous hair use to). My hair as been sealed in shiny, protein goodness. I think I'll use it again in a week from midshaft to ends to really seal up that damaged area.

My hair is on the way back to healthy, naturally gorgeous hair, and this product is the only thing that has made leaps and bounds in the journey. I HIGHLY recommend this product. If you want salon-quality hair by only stepping out of your house, give this a go!

My hair is naturally dark brown (well, dk brown with "natural silver highlights" haha)...so I get it bleached every 4 wks (like clockwork!)to a medium blonde shade. As a result my hair is porous, breaks easily and is less-than-shiny (& yet it's worth it to have my beloved color!)... have spent zillions on salon products/treatments, homeopathic remedies...you name it, I've given it a shot! Lo and behold whilst grocery shopping I noticed this little box, liked what they had written on it, took out my android and consulted (my newly discovered) MUA website and read some great reviews and figured i'd take a gamble...I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! This is the BEST stuff I've ever put on my hair!!! For the 1st time in years, my hair is swingy and shiny and lovely! Wish I had discovered it years ago! Wish my hairstylist had known about it too! I cringe when I think of the hundreds (probably even more than that! Ouch!) Of dollars I've wasted, the years my hair has been a good color, but fried and less than ideal! You only supposed to do it once every couple of weeks, but I tell you what, it's hard to wait! LOVE IT! (And I'm fussy...and somewhat fickle, so that's saying something!)...if you chemically process your hair...try this! You'll be glad you did! I've told soooo many people about this, I'm beginning to feel like a commercial! continued >>

This stuff was a life saver for me. I had my hair highlighted at the salon and it was overprocessed and way too light. I washed my hair and it just started breaking while combing through with my big comb. I almost died! I quickly put my hair in a loose ponytail and called my boyfriend. He took me (I couldn't drive I was so upset) to the store to buy Emergencee.

I waited until the next morning because I didn't want to wash it again in the same day. I washed with my normal sulfate free shampoo. I put on about 2 handfuls of emergencee. I have very long hair. I put it under a shower cap and left it on for 20 minutes with no heat. I rinsed it out with lukewarm water and applied a deep conditioner for 30 minutes.

After my first wash I immediately noticed that my hair was no longer breaking off when combing. Yes, some hairs still fall out from the root, but it is just not like was. I haven't used it again, but the condition of my hair is just so much better after one use. Don't expect your hair to feel like it did before you started dying and heat processing it, but it is a substantial improvement after one use. I am going to use it again next Sunday which will be two weeks after my first use.

I used this for the first time last night and i can already tell the difference! My hair is silky and smooth and looks so much shinier that it did yesterday. I did what the directions said except I used Aussie moisturizing shampoo before using it and Aussie 3-minute miracle after using it. I left it in my hair for 10 minutes while I shaved and then rinsed. It felt a little straw like while it was in my hair but I read that that could happen so I wasn't too worried. After I rinsed it out and conditioned my hair, I could already see a difference. Putting a brush through my hair didn't take out nearly as many hairs as it always has! My hair isn't that damaged but I do dye it occasionally and I always use a flat iron and a blow dryer. I am so impressed with what this products has done for my hair after only one use and I can't wait to use it again to see how it comes out next time. I'm so happy I found this product especially because I'm thinking of lightening my medium brown hair to a dark blonde and it seems to really help damaged hair so it was a great find! I will definitely buy this again!

I've waited 4 months to post my review. After reading all the positive reviews I couldn't wait to try this! My hair is mid-back length and Ive wanted it longer for some time now. I don't use heat on a daily basis and my hair is fine, but in a large quantity. It is virgin hair and has never been dyed. Sadly, it always breaks when I properly brush it, so I thought that a protein-building substance would help fuse my hair and make it stronger. At first I tried the bottle's direction (very different from what users do..it says to just leave it on for a few minutes in the shower, whereas most reviewers say they put it on and wait a while, maybe will apply heat, and then rinse...) That basically did nothing, so I anxiously waited 2 more weeks to try it the other way. Since then, I've applied heat with it on, left it on for an hour, put a little, put a lot....but honestly, I have noticed no results with the strength of my hair whatsoever. I really wish I did, because it seems to work so well for many others. I truly feel like you have to have significantly damaged hair for this to be effective. :/

This Nexxus product I actually *did* read the reviews on, and I'm so glad I did. This has worked well to improve the strength and shine of my hair, although it feels weird on my hair while my hair is wet (and makes a slick mess of my shower.) I use this about once every one to two weeks, and so far I really love it. I have highlighted hair that I blow dry and straighten, and aging is also taking a toll on my hair - I'll take all the help I can get!

For around $15 you can get a new head of hair. Don't let the straw-like feeling it imparts mid-treatment scare you! It's just the crude courier that will leave you with a new head of healthier hair.

This is a beyond excellent protein treatment. I have long very porous medium-fine naturally curly hair that I dye at home monthly. I usually only use a non-permanent dye but I decided to use a bleach just on the front of my hair and use a permanent ammonia dye on the rest of my hair. I didn't like the color results at all and I was very afraid of damage because after I washed my hair it felt awful. I used Color Opps and directly after that to cover the horrible dye job I re-dyed it back to my normal black tone. I did a moisturizing deep treatment that worked very nicely but I knew I was going to really need something to help reconstruct my hair shaft from the damage that I had done with the harsh dye. I picked up this product on a whim at Walgreens for $16. I had never even heard of it prior to that but I was desperate and the ingredients definitely seemed to be that of a heavy protein treatment which I needed badly. I washed my hair with a sulfate free moisturizing shampoo first, applied this product to detangled hair, slapped on a self heating conditioning cap and left it on for a whole hour. (I do believe an hour was overkill but I was very afraid of color damage..about 20 minutes is probably the max it needs to be on). I rinsed it out very well and then conditioned with Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Conditioner which I left on for 10 minutes and rinsed out fully. Then I just styled my hair as usual and let air dry. Once my hair was all dry I noticed that where some of my curls that used to be pretty limp had plumped up and were no longer lying limp and lifeless. With further examination of my hair I noticed that my curls all over were much more defined than normal and very smooth looking. I didn't have any frizz and my curls had a lot of spring and bounce! This product totally reconstructed my curls and really help to preserve the integrity of my hair. I won't ever make the mistake of using a permanent dye or bleach on my hair ever again but when I do my monthly dye rinse with Natural Instincts I will use this protein treatment as well. I'm incredibly glad I found it because even though the Natural Instincts is relatively gentle on my hair I have been worrying about the effects of even that on my hair over time. If you have damaged hair that is driving you up a wall please don't sleep on this product. It could really help totally change the way your hair looks and feels for the better. Also DO NOT forget that this is a protein treatment so your hair will not feel super soft directly after in most cases. Protein Treatments are always supposed to be followed by a good moisturizing conditioner which helps to give the hair balance. So don't forget that step and then assume this product just doesn't work for you because moisturization after ANY protein treatment is essential. Protein is to give the hair strength and fill up cracks and holes in the hair shaft, it's not meant to soften. A moisturizing conditioner is what softens the hair afterwards. I would even suggest if you can to leave the moisturizing conditioner on the hair for several minutes (about 20). You will indeed be pleased by the results! And I especially recommend this if you have naturally curly hair that just isn't curling right or you have incurred damage from chemicals or heat.

Last night when I took out my hair extensions after only 5 weeks - I had some hair damange. OMG I was actually scared my formerly great hair was going to need to be cut pretty short. It was breaking, weak, shedding, and felt really baby fine. I was on my way to Sally's to buy something to help me but they were closed so I went to Walgreens and found this Nexus product. I looked it up on my blackberry while standing there in the aisle and found this site of reviewers who made me feel comfortable buying. All I can say is I cannot believe the immediate results after one use. I went from hair in clumps in my hand to a couple strands falling out. I decided to use is again this morning and there is a significant difference in the quality of my hair. I didnt leave it in long like some say - all I did was leave it in 5 minutes. Now it makes me wonder if I let is sit for 20 minutes what great results I will have. I followed it up with ABBA Recovery Conditioner and the two seem to work very well together. My hair looks healthy, shiney, and doesn't feel as fragile - even though I am taking great care handling it still. I am going to use this product again in the morning (3rd time in a row) and see how it does but I am extremely impressed and will keep this product in my arsenol since I foil highlight my hair. I cannot believe why my hairdresser doesn't use it to help treat my hair after my services.

Update: It's been a month. I loved it so much I bought the professional version of this product called Nexxus Polymedic (better value). I actually use it more frequently than on the instructions (3 times a week). What has resulted is my hair has stopped breaking, it actually is growing long, and looks healthy. Instead of leaving it in more time, I actually only do 5 minute treatments in the shower while I shave my legs. My every other day routine is: Kerastase Bain poo wash, treat with Polymedic-5 minutes, Kerastase poo wash, condition with ABBA Recovery for 2 minutes, rinse. My hair looks great! All these products work great together.

I've tried this product many times. I've gone through 2 bottles over the past 2 years because I wanted to keep trying it out to see if I could see results. I've used heat, I haven't used heat. I've left it in for a few minutes, I've left it on for a few hours. I tried this several times before I got my hair Japanese straightened and a few months after. This product has done nothing for my hair. Before Japanese straightening, my hair was thick, frizzy, dry and wavy. I was always using the Chi iron to straighten my hair. I tried Emergencee to see if it would help the condition of my hair, but unfortunately, it did not. My hair has been Japanese straightened three times in the past year and a half. My hair is a little damaged and lacks the shine I want (but still looks so much healthier and obviously straighter than before I got this done), so I tried Emergencee again. Again, no success for me. I found an alternative that works for me. I just put raw eggs in my hair every few weeks and wash it out after a few minutes. This makes my hair shiny and healthier. Raw eggs are also a protein treatment that is much cheaper than Emergencee.
