this is a really really really really really really really really wet mascara
the brush picks up a lot of product and i found myself scraping my brush against the opening of the bottle because there were so much PRODUCT but its ok i didnt cry that much bc of that
but i did cry about how clumped my lashes looked omg
it looked like i had 5 lashes ?????!!?!!@#!$@%%Y% I DONT EVEN KNOW OK I HAD REALLY HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS MASCARA BUT IT JUST DIDNT WORK FOR ME
my lashes clumped together and it kinda made my eyelashes itchy i dont know how to explain why
it also made my eyes sting a little or when i teared up (((i got the non waterproof version)) it got into my eye and it stinged
it kinda reminded me of maybelline's great lash with the cone shaped brush called "Lots of Lashes" or something
i have pretty long lashes already i just wanted something to make them look fuller but this just didnt do it for me
but if you like that clumped kind of look i say go for it
My lancome hypnose drama was running out so i decided to take a leap of faith and bought this (the waterproof version) at Sephora.
So let me just say that this is a really wet mascara! So for those of you who dislike wet mascaras i wouldn't suggest purchasing this. It holds a curl really well, and has a beautiful lengthening effect, it really makes your lashes longer but it doesn't volumise them. I wore it for more than 12 hours and it didnt flake or smudge on me. Compared to the hypnose drama this definitely gave me more length and was less heavy on the eyes.
As mentioned.. i got the waterproof version, and omg they really kept to their word when they said it was waterproof! How waterproof is waterproof? You could dance in the rain and it'd still be looking the same!
The price is pretty steep, (boo) but if there's ever a sale (or maybe not) i'd definitely repurchase!
This is my first Lancome mascara and I don't really like it, especially after having used Le Volume de Chanel for 4 months.
Hypnose Star comes in an elegant, black packaging, and the lower end of the packaging is sparkling.
I think that the packaging is the thing I like the most about this mascara.
The brush: it has two sides, the flat one which you use first to put the product on the lashes, and a round side which you use to comb through lashes. Not very handy, though.
It also clumps a lot if I try to put more than two layers of mascara, in order to achieve a more dramatic look...
The formula isn't that wet if compared to Le Volume de Chanel, but I like the fact that it doesn't leave lashes crunchy.
It doesn't add volume and it doesn't lengthen....
It gives a very natural finish.
Like other Lancome mascaras, it has a heavy rose scent, which I personally like.
Won't be repurchasing.
I think I'll come back to Le volume.
I am Not happy with this mascara, especially because I payed so much for it. I expected to have longer, fuller lashes but I think this just made my eyelashes look shorter! The formula was very wet and did not dry on my lashes. It looks like I painted my eyes with black paint! After an hour of wearing, it started to flake off my lashes. The only thing I like about this mascara is the brush. *to view full reviews on products an enter a giveaway go to www.misslipglossbeauty.blogspot.com
I for this as a sample and thank goodness I did! I don't like it at all! So clumpy and my lashes were sticky! Not to mention it took forever to come off! I didn't get the "come hither, clump free" look either... Overall I don't bother with purchasing mascara over $30 unless it impressed me!
I have only recieved sample sizes of this product but I absolutely love it. I have very short, straight lashes that fall even if I curl them! I usually layer on mascara and curl my lashes throughout the day but that leaves them dry and clumpy! (NOT CUTE!) But this mascara is amazing. I think the brush helps flare out my lashes so that even when they fall, my lashes have a very "winged out" look to them. It really flares my lashes and lengthens them with only one coat. It is the only mascara that works on my lashes thus far. Definitely worth purchasing!
I bought this mascara on a whim because I happened to be at Macy's. I have to say not very impressed. It is just ok. To me, It was tricky to apply and was kind of clumpy on. When I switched over to my drugstore brand, I got much better results. It definitely doesn't separate enough. Not a terrible product, but I would just stick to my drugstore brand:)
Horrid! A too wet, globby formula that applies like garbage. My eyelashes actually looked shorter and just plain weird once I applied it. It did not hold a curl. Despite the fact that once it dried 5 hrs later It just clumped up and looked ugly! It is very dehydrating and terrible for your lashes. It is nearly impossible to take off and I bought the non waterproof edition! It made my eyelashes break off and fall out in 2 different spots. I had a bald patch on my right eye that I had to fill with an artificial lash segment. For the price of $28 this product is a joke. I am not particularly fond of Lancome so it is beyond me as to why I let the salesperson talk me into purchasing this bs. I recommend those of you that have it; to toss it in the garbage where it belongs.
This is definetely one of my favorite mascaras. It defines and gives a beautiful lenght to your lashes. The shape of the brush gives a "cat eye" look to the eyes by making the outer lashes slightly longer and thicker. The only downside of this product is the price. But if you are looking for an high end mascara, you can't go wrong with this one and it's magnificient packaging.
The very first Lancome mascara that i tried and I absolutely love it. I got so many comments and questions asked about how I got my eyelashes so long. The mascara does not clump and does not flake until about 4-5 hours of wear. A bit pricey but definitely worth your money.
