I wish I would have read the reviews here before I bought this stuff! It was $15.00 down the drain. There is nothing "oil-control" about this. It works just like a regular oil based moisturizer. Thankfully, it does have the added benefit of a sunscreen, and it didnt cause me to break-out. I wont buy again though.
-Update-
After using this a little longer I have grown to like it. It does give me a matte finish before applying makeup, but I still don't think it helps at controlling oil. I like that its SPF, but I don't think it is worth the high price. Also, it hasnt caused me to breakout, which is a plus. The price is the major downside to this.
Yikes! I have very oily skin, and I had very high hopes for this moisturizer because it's Cetaphil. I paid about $14 for it, which is a bit expensive for a drugstore brand. This stuff made my face look greasier than it already is! It goes on pretty smooth and it feels nice, but as soon as I apply it, my face looks oily. The only good thing I can say about the product is that it didn't break me out. Now it's just sitting there on my bathroom counter.
This did not control shine on me whatsoever. It wasn't absorbed and it did not provide me with a non-greasy, matte finish. I used a little, I used a lot, either way, my skin was so shiny. I will not be buying this product again.
This is just the worst.
Never have I been compelled to write a review for something because i disliked it so much!
Greasy, filmy, makes me break out. It lingers on skin like grease and does NOT absorb!
I bought this for a matte day time moisturizer/sunscreen. It is not mattifying at all, it is a standard sunscreen. And no matter how careful I was, it would manage to get in my eye and burn a lot which doesn't happen at all with my other sunscreens. I finished the bottle but am not buying again.
i got this free with the oily control foam cleanser from my dermo. so i gave it a try and loved it... It was so small that I went to a drug store and bought the normal sizes for both the foam cleanser and moisturizer. I was using them together for about 3 weeks but my face stopped feeling smooth. so i eventually went back to using oil daily facial cetaphil cleanser. that reeeeeeeally helped make my skin feel better and made my skin glow. BUT i wasnt matte anymore, even while using this moisturizer, I was still oily...
This product only works well when you use it in conjunction with the foam cleanser but I get a dull skin look so I stay away from using the foam cleanser all together and use the moisturizer once in a while... just waiting for it to finish because im 100% sure theres a better mattifying moisturizer out there.
This has got to be the worst shine/oil control moisturizer. I am very surprised because cetaphil is my favorite brand of face wash and expected more from this product. It leaves my skin so greasy and shiny which it is suppose to be preventing. My foundation tends to slide off within an hour or so with this moisturizer. I will not be repurchasing especially because it is a very expensive product and does not work one bit.
I don't know why they call this oil control moisturizer, because it doesn't leave a matte finish on the skin nor does it remotely control oil throughout the day. I don't expect miracles, but when I apply my moisturizer and makeup at 7 am, I don't want to be shiny faced by 9 am! Quite honestly, I am less shiny when I don't use this. And for over $15, that's not acceptable.
What a disappointment! I was really hopeful when I saw this product: "OIL CONTROL Moisturizer" that is reasonably priced, comes in a big bottle with a pump, has SPF30, and is made by a reputable company. I should've known it was too good to be true...
The most important feature of it - its ability to control sebum production and provide "MATTE FINISH" is non-existent. My face is shiny from the moment I apply it and it only gets (much) worse during the day... The only way I can use it is if I apply "OC Eight" mattifying gel on top of it, which is what I've been doing with other moisturizers / sunscreens to reduce shine. So, I end up using the Cetaphil product purely as a moisturizer with sunscreen.
I won't buy it again and I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends looking for "oil control" product!

This moisturizer is a mixed bag. On the positive side, it's a nice lightweight, gentle moisturizer that provides solid broad spectrum sun protection to people who find the original Cetaphil too heavy. On the negative end, it doesn't deliver on its oil-control and mattifying claims at all. I wouldn't say this moisturizer made me oily, but it leaves my skin looking almost as moist and dewy as a moisturizer NOT marketed at people with oily and/or acne prone skin would. Since I bought this product hoping for sun protection with a matte finish, that's incredibly disappointing. I didn't notice any long term oil control either.
Had this product just been marketed as a lighter version of Cetaphil and skipped the oil control claims, I would have given this moisturizer at least a 4 but the false advertising knocks down the value of the product.
I'm not going to return it as it might work well for me in the winter, but for the moment I'm moving on.
