I have oily and acne prone skin, My dermatologist gave me this product as a sample and let me say it is the worst thing I have ever put on my face. At first I was Okay with The product, but as the day went on my eyes began to water and burn. Somehow the lotion had gotten into my eyes .I don't even know how that occurred I did not applied anywhere near my eyes. It burned so badly and my eyes were watering uncontrollably I could not even open my eyes, I was blinded and the sunlight. it hurt my eyes so badly my make up was running all over the place and it ruined my whole day. I was forced to go and get makeup wipes at the nearest store and wipe the lotion off of my face. for a couple hours after that my eyes still burned and watered and were very very red. Please do not waste your money on this product. I know it is not the make up I was wearing that day that caused this because it was my every day make up and it has always been fine.
Really disappointed in how much this cost and how poorly it works. I stopped wearing foundation 3 years ago and only use sheer concealer around my eyes. I don't have to worry much about breakouts, but I do have a lot of shine, which i have controlled using Neutrogena SPF 30 Dry Touch Sunblock every day. I picked this up for $15 at Target and it made me a shiny mess...shinier than if I wasn't wearing anything at all. Since the day I tried it (Wednesday it is now Sunday), I have been shining like Times Square, even though I don't have anything on. And this is after a salicylic acid peel on Friday, because I thought the lotion might be compromised if I had clogged pores. I wish I could take this back. I was hoping to have a new lotion for the school year, but I am going back to my Neutro sunscreen. It does a great job.
Didn't irritate my skin or add to the oil but also didn't control the oil as stated.
this is targetted for oily skin and claims to control oil, but once applied i feel and look... oily. the sunscreen scent is way too strong. it makes you look shiny. underneath makeup, it doesnt make me shiny, althought i use products intended for oily skin (mac matchmaster & maybelline dream matte powder). as far as a moisturizer goes, it does moisturize. overall this product looks and feels greasy, and i dont think it claims to be oil-free, ironically. honestly, its exactly like the daily moisturizer, with a higher spf. same greasy feeling/look, same strong sunscreen scent.
I have oily face. This moisturizer made my face an oilier mess. You literally can fry eggs on my face. Way to expensive. Will not purchase. Don't recommend for acne oil face!
It's always good when you find a drugstore product that really works for you. I didn't expect a whole lot from this moisturiser but it really does do what I want it to. I use it as my morning moisturiser after washing with Boscia black cleanser whether I am wearing foundation or not and it doesn't leave any flaky spots, even on the tip of my nose where several much more pricey products did. It does not leave a residue and I don't feel anything on my skin after I've applied it. None of my makeup products have shown any issues being on top of it. It hasn't made me break out. It smells like sunscreen, but I haven't noticed it continuing to smell like sunscreen after I've applied it and washed my hands. Personally, I have noticed my oil production during the day going down after having used this a couple weeks.
A good product for my skin, especially on the cheap. I'm curious to see how it stacks up against humidity since I will soon be leaving the desert and moving to the beach.
When I found a moisturizer for oily skin that contained 30SPF, I was so pumped! I'm fair skinned, so to find something that contains a higher SPF but that I could also wear as a daily moisturizer was a great find! ...that is, until I actually put it on my face. I'll begin with a tiny disclaimer: I did NOT apply this product near my eyes. When I saw SPF on the bottle, I knew it would sting, so I didn't apply it anywhere NEAR my eyes. I also do not rub my eyes. That being said: Today, while I was driving to the store after having simply applied some moisturizer to my face, I was BLINDED WHILE DRIVING. I have no idea how it happened, but this moisturizer must have somehow gotten into my eyes. I had to pull over (quite ironically at a police station) to wipe my eyes with my tshirt because they stung so badly. I should also mention that this has happened every single time that I have worn this. I blamed myself the first few times, but why does this keep happening? Grrrrrr. I'll be looking elsewhere for a moisturizer. :(
Pros: Pump bottle dispenser, 30 SPF protects my skin, this does keep oil under control for me, non-greasy. It does not inflame my acne.
Cons: The only thing I could say is the smell isn't entirely pleasant. It smells like diluted sunscreen - it doesn't bother me, and fades quickly.
I will repurchase this unless I find something better/more natural.
I love it been using it for two months great for oily skin non greasy I've tried other moisturizer and this is the best so far.
I'm not sure why there have been posts on here that this product needs to be marketed as a sunscreen when there are plently of lines producing moisturizers with sunscreen and there are foundations with sunscreen, even powders with sunscreen. It's the "thing" to do now. So first and foremost, this is a moisturizer. Further, if you read Cetaphil's website on this product, it states this was built to moisturize, protect and control oil. This was formulated for skin that over produces sebum, which can cause acne, it also helps moisturize the skin but with the sunscreen in it, it also protects youf face from UV rays that can irritate those who are using a high powered Rx cream for acne.
So NO...it should not be labeled as a sunscreen, it is appropriately labeled as a moisturizer for acne prone skin. Having said that, it is indeed a lightweight creme and sinks into the skin immediately and does provide a somewhat matte finish at first. I do think after a few weeks, it is able to control more oil than if I dont use it. But as with some products out there, you have to use this consistently to see results. I apply every day, underneath my makeup, and after a week, I notice I dont need to blot as much on my t-zone. I like that it offers sun protection and I like that it does help soothe skin after applying a drying acne cream, but its not heavy on the face. I do not detect any strong odor from this product.
I only gave it four lipsticks because it does take some time for it control the oil, you do not see immediate results and that was the prime reason I bought this.
