This was one of my first high-end powders, and for years I thought it was the best - until I tried MAC, which I actually prefer now. Still, this powder did well for me for many years. What was incredible about this powder is that the amount of product lasted for a long time (in the large blue compact). However, my mirror cracked about 4 months after I bought it. Then, I was at a wedding for a friend, and another guest was in the bathroom, and we were both re-applying our makeup. I noticed that she had the same compact as I did (the one reviewed here), and she said, "I love this! The only bad thing is that my mirror cracked." I was really surprised, because mine had too! I'm not sure if other reviewers experienced the same, but this is why I am giving it just a 2/5 for packaging.

When I first got this powder and took it home I thought the color was too dark for me. I have an olive skintone and I got this powder in Medium. I just dug this out of my makeup drawer a few weeks ago and I've fallen in love with it. It's perfect to set my makeup and controls my oil. It's light and my perfect powder. Would repurchase.

Works well, just as well as everyother translucent powder sets makeup without the color, which I really like. This can end up slightly cakey if you are not careful how you apply it.I enjoy this powder.

This is a fantastic powder! I use this in Transparent and i use it to set my foundation or tinted moisturizer. It helps my makeup last longer without adding colour of its own. What I love about it is the fact that it adds luminosity to my skin making it look vibrant/glowing. It also reflects light so that it draws attention away from my imperfections giving this illusion that my skin is flawless. I LOVE IT! I will always buy this pressed powder. I'm in total love! This is officially my HG powder!!

I use this as a touch-up over mineral powder if I need to freshen up my face later in the day. It's amazingly quick and easy. It blurs fine lines, takes away shine and instantly my makeup looks just as good as it did in the morning. A little bit goes a long way with this powder. It's silky, not heavy and doesn't look cakey at all. I prefer a brush to apply, rather than the sponge puff. I use Medium.

I use the blue compact and have done so for years. It has excellent staying power, however can feel heavy. Will definately not change anytime soon.

I first bought this powder about 19 years ago. I keep switching makeup lines, and when all the niche lines started coming out in the mid-90s, I abandoned the classic companies like Lauder for the funkier ones. I came back to the Lucidity powder recently because I really did like it when I first used it. But I was surprised to see just how much the size of the compact shrunk since the early 90s. It used to be what seemed to me a giant blue compact. Now it's more of a regular size, but it sill comes in a gigantic box so I thought the compact was still very large. But what really disappointed me was the powder inside. The pan is smaller, and the compact has a wide inner ring of plastic, so the pan of powder no longer extends all the way out to the edge of the compact, again making the packaging from the outside look like the product inside is bigger than it actually is. How disappointing, but I guess all the cosmetic companies are doing this now (Origins, another Lauder company, is the worst offender). I really like this powder so I gave it 4 stars, but I gave it a 2 for packaging. I would probably repurchase for the quality of the powder, but I would do so grudgingly because of the downsizing of the product.

Alright I bought this in the blue compact, the gold one and an extra refill. The lady seemed intent on making me buy the blue one for "at home", whatever I figured I'd like it. I hate it. No matter what I do it looks like I rubbed chalk on my face. The only way for it to look nice is to put so little on it's like it's not there. I bought it because I liked that it was for a dryer skin type, which I am now that I'm using glycolic acid and BP. All it did was accentuate EVERYTHING and be chalky.I cannot by the laws of nature and physics blend this. Seriously, I've used dollar compacts that were better. In fact, one of the girls mentioned NYC powder and that stuff is FAR better than this will ever be. If I have a chance, which I know I won't, I'll be returning the blue compact and extra refill. I'm keeping the gold one because that's what I originally wanted just for the sake of a cute gold compact. Gr, this makes me so upset.

I bought this pressed powder in the small Golden Alligator Compact. The powder lasts a long time and the compact is refillable.

I lightly apply it with a brush over the cheek areas to which I've applied concealer.

It sets the concealer without a heavy, powdered look.

I also use it on my brows after I've used brow pencil and brushed my brows. It sets the color so there's no rub-off or smearing.

I just LOVE this product!
I've been using Estee Lauder's press power on and off about four years now. I've tried out Chanel, Calrins, Lancome, Clinique, Shiseido inbetween, but after awhile always came back to this product. I usually only apply my sunblock cream (Shiseido Anessa), which is slightly tinted, and afterwards lightly apply this powder. This routine brightens up my face without making my skin looking cakey.
