I have this in onyx and am not impressed. I prefer gel or cream eyeliners in general because I do not like tugging at my over-40 eye area. This eye liner did not apply smoothly and it was hard to get any color payoff without tugging and pressing. It did last all day on me- as a coarsely drawn grayish sort of line. I like Urban Decay 24/7 or Clinique cream liner to this.

I first got this in Java in the Limitless kit. I loved it. Java was really smooth it went on & lasted all day. I later ordered the Golden Olive, it has a faint sheen to it, but it isn't a metalic. It didn't go on as smooth as the matte Java did. I had hoped the Golden Olive would be darker, but they both are on the light side for a lash line, but are good for a lighter look. I also received a free Onyx sample which also tugged slightly so the matte theory for smoothness doesn't apply. The liners are the shade of the pencil case they are in. I don't have any smudging problems but don't use any creams in the morning. They last all day. UPDATE: finally tossed Golden Olive, it just was too dry to even try anymore but it has been a year, but it never went on easily but still use Java at least a couple times a week and still going on smooth. doesnt stay on waterline long enough

I am not a fan of pencil liners, I find them too difficult to use compared to liquid or cream/gel. This one glides on easily and the black was truly a black liner (sometimes I end up with something that looks more like dark grey). Love the built in sharpener. If I was to buy a pencil liner again this would be it.

ive tried gel eyeliners, soo many liquid liners, and many many pencil eyeliners from many brands some including: MUFE, urban decay, mac, drugstore... all of them faded/smudged/flaked and left me with raccoon eyes except this one. I have Java (a dark brown) and Onyx (black) both of them stay on all day without smudging or fading (even in my waterlines). Creamy but not to much, nicely pigmented, just great.
They are 22$ CND but definitely worth the price. I will repurchase.

I am surprised by the amount of good reviews this product got. I purchased mine from Sephora, used it for 2 days and ended up returning it. It is not waterproof or water resistent at all. It smuges like crazy. Within 10 minutes of putting it on, it smudged all around my eyes, I looked like a complete idiot. Suffice to say, I will not be purchasing this again and I will not recommend this product to anyone. Save your money!

I received the Java Limitless Eyeliner with the Limitless Collection recently. The nice, sharp but blunt (if you know what I mean) point will never be replicated by any sharpener available, so I take points off for sharpenability. If used on my upper lash line, this stuff doesn't budge and looks great with my blue eyes. The dark brown color is dramatic enough, yet softer looking for daytime and work. If I use this on my lower inside lid in the morning, the color softly blends into my eyelashes by noon which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It naturally gives my lower lashes a nice lined but not obvious look. If you like the dark waterlining look, you'll need to touch up in the middle of your day. Today I touched it up at lunchtime and will have a decent waterline until I wash my face tonight. I would not purchase again due to the difficulty in getting a nice, sharp point after the initial point wore down. The staying power is a plus but I can buy a cheaper eye liner from Avon which does just as good of a job. Don't waste your money on a name brand like Smashbox. (As far as the entire Limitless collection: The lip gloss is sticky, the eyeliner is so-so, the blush can cheaply be duped by Milani, the eyeshadows are pretty but not memorable--I'm not crazed into using them every day like I am my Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon shadows and the primer isn't something I am reaching for every day either... overall I wasted money for the name.)

This eyeliner smudges like crazy - bottom line. I purchased this in Java (dark brown) and it's almost too creamy when applied. The color looks rich and dark at first but it smudges within half an hour..forgot putting this on your water line or lower lash line cause it will be a mess! I am a big fan of makeup forever's aqua eyes liners but they don't make a dark enough brown, that's why I tried this product.
If you are looking for a long lasting pencil liner try MUFE aqua eyes, Urban Decay 24/7, MAC's powerpoint, or Revlon colorstay (sort of a pencil, it twists up). HOPE THIS HELPS :)

I LOVE this eyeliner. It doesn't smudge all day long. I have this is both java and black violet. However both are quite dark - and as a pasty ginger this is not always good, and so although I love that they do not smudge, I often find myself using my MUFE liner in 5L for day wear. However, once amethyst and golden IV are available in Canada I will be forking over another $22 each for them as they look lighter.
