I normally stay away from EL because i think the products are over priced and not worth the money. I was on holiday abroad and someone mentioned to me to try this moisturiser because they thought my skin would benefit from it...well weren't they right!! My skin feels so much better and I feel like my frown lines are less harsh. The only thing that Im not impressed with is the smell,It's not a bad smell by any means but I would have much prefered if it smelled like the day wear.

I would still recommend this to anyone.

Best hydrating moisturiser that I have tried so far. It smells great, feels great and is easily spread and absorbed into the skin. My skin feels moisturised and plump throughout the day without feeling greasy. No breakouts which is a big plus as I have very sensitive skin. I have however changed to Estee Lauder's Day Wear mosturiser for more potent anti-ageing properties. I do however prefer the texture and smell of this moisturiser. I just wish it contained as much anti-oxidant/anti-ageing properties as the Day Wear moisturiser. All in all, a great moisturiser!

This cream does what it says by its name: It hydrates. Ok, two lippies for that. But that's about it. It's horribly overscented - not that the smell is bad, just too strong and artificial - and it stung my skin badly although I am not that extremely sensitive.
I gave it to my sister who does not have sensitive skin at all and likes perfumed creams, and she is happy. Oh well, everyone is different.

I have fairly oily skin, but the texture of the lotion is nice on my skin and moisturizing. It may just be a basic moisturizer but it feels like much more. Right away my skin felt moisturized and healthy. My face was comfortable all day. With continued use my skin looked more and more healthy and radiant.

This is a very pleasant cream (I use the one for combination skin). It does exactly what it' s supposed to do, which is moisturize. It does not make my face sticky at all, so sometimes I even use it in the morning. The price is OK too. If you want something (slightly) better and you don't mind paying more, try Darphin. This one is almost as good for 60% of the price. Excellent product !

EL is a terrible liar. Hydration? Yeah, ok if it's 60 degrees or warmer, but not nearly sufficent enough for harsh winters, & this is the dry skin formula. I don't have dry skin but everyone's skin is prone to be drier during the winter, this moisturizer is lacking, I had to apply two layers to get the proper moisturization I was looking for. So back on the shelf it goes, I'll retrieve it in the spring when it's more aptly suited. "Nivea Soft" beats this 10 to 1 in hydrating the skin & cost under $7.00 USD & is twice the size. EL ought to be ashamed of themselves with their deceptive products, they're always "perpetuating a fraud". continued >>

- Moisturizing
- Strong fresh scent
- Not greasy
- Does not clog pores
- Does not cause breakouts
- Does not have SPF
- Makes the skin smooth
- The jar container is rather inconvenient and unsanitary for quick application

Recently bought Estee Lauder's (supposed miracle serum) advanced night repair. It dries out my skin, so I was in need of a very hydrating cream to put on top of it. I got a little bored with my cheap ass drug store creams and decided to try something luxurious instead. I gave both Chanel's Hydramax + active moisture cream and Estee Lauder's Hydrationist (for normal skin) a shot. Hydrationist turned out to be the winner.

Hydrationist is very moisturizing indeed. I just apply it on top of my serum (AM and PM). It melts into my skin leaving it supple and soft. Due to its rich texture, it leaves a slight residue on my face as well. At night and during winter I actually quite like this. It makes fine lines melt away and gives my skin a fresh dewy look. I just blend it with my liquid foundation and finish with a little setting powder. It does make my face a oily during the day though, so it'll be way too heavy for me during warmer weather.

The SA made a point of me buying the Estee Lauder eye cream as well, but since they often come in tiny overpriced jars I decided not to "fall for it". Usually I just apply my cream underneath my eyes as well. BUT... I'm careful with Hydrationist, it's definitely irritating to my eyes! Never a good thing..

I read how some people on here even experienced irritation on their cheeks. Something one of my friends can confirm. It stung so badly that she had to wash it off immediately. I'm not sure what ingredients are to blame. The fragrance (I wish brands would resist the urge to perfume all of their products this much!) may have something to do with it. A fresh but overwhelming cucumber scent. I would've been happier without it.

3 lippies for now, because it's extremely hydrating and deliciously rich, but a milder and less fragranced formula would've been nice.

I got this as a gift from my mother and I'm so glad she gave this to me! My skin is naturally quite dry and this moisturizer is amazing at moisturizing my skin without making it overly oily. It also works in the dry weather, most moisturizers I've used don't last in the winter and I'll usually end up with dry, flakey skin in the middle of the day. This one lasts me all day and my skin is still soft and smooth. The only downside with this is the jar - I would prefer if this were in a pump so that it was more sanitary. But it's not a major complaint. I don't know what's in it nor what the price was, as I didn't purchase this myself and Estee Lauder is not a brand I usually buy, but I will definitely be repurchasing in the future, as this has now become my staple moisturizer!

EDIT: It is now the thick of winter here in NYC, below zero and this cream isn't cutting it anymore! I loved it during the milder fall season and even the beginning of winter, but once the temps started dropping and the air got drier, my face got flakier and flakier. This simply isn't powerful enough to withstand cold winters and provide moisture year-round, so I'm dropping this down to 3 lippies.
