I can't rate this well for price, it's $60.00 in my country. The packaging is the normal tube from MAC's permanent line, the 'bullets'.
But, it is absolutely beautiful - my favorite MAC lipstick, quite possibly. A very dark, reddish toned plum on my skin, can be worn as a stain to create a more deep pink flush, or with a dark lipliner for an amazing 'vampy' look. I would wear this as a stain in summer, and all the damn time in winter. It's just gorgeous.
The finish is satin, it's extremely pigmented, and feels good on the lips. Has the signature vanilla scent, is moisturizing, not drying, yet still has the 'velvet' look on the lips. Looks wonderful paired with a warm toned gloss.

would repurchase this item FOREVERRRRRR!!
this lipstick's amazing! not drying on the lips, feels comfortable all through the day!!
colour's really versatile and you can use this from day to night: you can blot the product on your lips to give them some kinda tint, or blot and apply some gloss, to reach the effect of a berry glossy lip, or apply it from the tube/with the brush after a lip pencil to have that amazing full deep berried/wine colour that can get so well with a gothic look, or even be absolutely classy with a delicate eye makeup for a nigh out!
applied straight from the tube the consistencys creamy and kinda glossy, well, satin, as the finish says!!
looks great on every skintone, even if i prefer it on lighter skintones, but this is just my personal opinion :)
BUY it!! :DD
i lovee this lipstick, perfect for a berry lip stain or for a full on vampy lip ! the photos here show more red, in reality think of it as a deep purple wine colour. perfect for pale skin and perfect for winter to come!

This is a deep wine with purple undertones. Applied straight from the tube it can go from a berry stain to a gothic purple. I blot mine on, blend and apply lip gloss over it to give it more of a deep berry look. I think this a great color for brown-haired, brown-eyed beauties with medium or darker skin tones. Looks great with nuetral eye, black liner and dark lashes.

First review!
I absolutely love this lipstick and I've uploaded a picture that shows the colour a bit better. Please excuse the blur and the shoddy application - I was just hoping to show the true colour as the other picture shows it worn more like a stain with lipgloss. When applied straight from the tube, the colour is a deep port/merlot/burgundy colour - like a deep blackberry purple or like magenta mixed with black. If you apply it with the complimenting MAC lipliner then you can make it look darker and more matte but on the other hand if you smear a little using your finger it can look like a deep berry stain. It is absolutely gorgeous on my semi-pale yellow toned asian skin. It is a satin lipstick and it feels really creamy and moisturising but this can lead to smudging onto face/teeth/etc, so if you're wearing it for a party then either go one way or the other - a stain rubbed into your lips OR go the whole hog and use lipliner and blot/reapply. I'm not brave enough to wear this during the day but it is gorgeous for winter parties and evening drinks. Oh and standard MAC packaging/smell, which I neither like nor hate but I love MAC products so it'll do!

To me this looks like a deep burgundy wine.I have very pale skin with pigmented lips.Straight from the tube it's just too much even through I love dark colors.I apply it lightly with a brush or rub it in with my finger and it looks like a nice stain that last for hours without bleeding or rubbing off on my teeth.

This a B2M selection. I allowed the SA to talk me into it so......I guess....nothing really wasted. It is a deep wine color that is wearable for me, NW45 DDD. But, I like a lighter color that give me an instant face lift (Ruby Woo). l love the texture of MAC lipsticks so my review is based on my personal perfernce in coloring. It's just not for me. It reminds me of colors worn by Black women during the 1970's.
I love this lipstick! Definitely not for the shy girl though. I bought this to go with my burgundy pencil and I saw it was used to beautiful and achievable results in the Derek Lam fall 08 runway show: http://www.style.com/beauty/backstage/022208BACK/ (good pictures)

I would be considered to have a 'gothic' style by most, so this was a must have shade for me. It's dark, it's dramatic, and best of all, it's not too strong for my violet red hair and green eyes. I like this color, but it needs to be reapplied often.. so I'll save it for rock concerts and shopping trips when I have time to pay attention to what I look like. Minus a lippie because it isn't all that lasting.

This was one of those "in theory" colors for me. In my head it gave me an edgy modern look but in reality... more of a wanna-be Goth vibe. Can't work it. What I end up doing is putting on balm then dabbing Media on it a couple of times for a tint. Heck, may as well wear lipgloss. Maybe it was made for the pale.
