ETA: This has been amazing for my skin - I completely bypassed my monthly hormonal breakout. I haven't had skin this clear since I used Accutane! I use this with my Clarisonic and follow up with an AHA/Vitamin C lotion (diy with supplies from Garden of Wisdom). I'm really pleased I found this because I was considering going back on Accutane or birth control, and now won't have to.

I do not have acne and my skin is a bit dry. I use this for my large pores on my cheek, nose and chin. I wet my hands and lather it up in my hands. I spread it on my face and leave it for a few minutes. It is drying and after I rinse it off I use my argan oil on my face. My pores have shrunk. Do not use the bar on your face because it can scratch your skin. I really like this and fave a bar to my brother for his bacne.

This soap is amazing. The first couple of times I used it, it was a bit drying but it doesn't have that effect anymore. I love how it controls the oil and makes my skin feel rather soft. My sebaceous filaments were quite bad but it's gotten so much better now! Nothing's been able to do that before.

I've been using this for a few weeks and it does help acne without overdrying. I use it only on my problem areas (T zone, etc.). It smells amazing! But I'm taking off two stars because of the large clumps of oatmeal in this soap. I don't know why anyone puts oatmeal in soap. It's not fine enough to exfoliate properly, and only scratches the skin, which is not good for it! I try to pick the lumps out but it doesn't work well. Not sure whether I'll buy this again. I might, if I don't find another kind of African black soap.

Its not pure black soap but it's still does a great job. I stumbled upon this at a natural food market and I got hooked. Now Ive got OCD when it comes to taking showers and I switch to different body washes bc I freqently run out ESP bc my bf uses a lot of soap too. With that said I do believe the times that ive used this on and off has done my body good w polishing off some light scars. I need to stock up on a few bottles so I can use it more consistently. I usually use an exfoliating glove when using this. Love the scent too!

I use this to control acne and oily. I am an intensely oily person (Thanks, genes!) and this helps to make my face as matte as possible.

But this is strangely not over-drying. And my acne is under control, even though I went off my topical acne med.

As mentioned, buy this from iherb as they do ship fast and it's cheaper. I think everyone should try this, esp if you struggle with the facial issues I mentioned.

I am in love with this soap, it is definitely the best organic soap I have ever tried. It smells divine, leathers nicely and cleans the skin perfectly without drying it too much. Even my husband who is very sensitive with soaps likes it very much. Overall great product and reasonable priced. I would like to try another soaps from the brand as well. I ordered it from iherb.com (code TOV 126 for $10 discount).

This is the second bar of soap I've tried by Nubian Heritage and they don't disappoint! This leaves me very clean and has taken care of some acne on my chest and back. I haven't tried this in my face yet, but I imagine it would work for blemishes there too. Also, the natural fragrance is nice. This is a great product! I'll be rebuying.
I'd like to add that regardless of what one of the other reviewer erroneously said, this does it have dye in it. The black color comes from the tamarind ash. There are some fake black soaps out there and this is not one of them.

This stuff has completely cleared up my skin. My face has never looked better. I always break out on my chin which I've heard is usually related to hormones, but since I started using this about 2 months ago I've only broken out once (one tiny pimple!). It smells good, lathers well, and gets my face completely clean without overdrying. I get it at whole foods for about 3-4$. Def facial cleanser HG for me.
