I have to begin my review with conflicting feelings. I used Advanced Night Repair off and on (I like to switch products because I feel my skin becomes used to a skin regimen) and I always found it to give my skin a nice glow immediately upon application. I didn't see any specific difference in the morning as to dewiness or special glow. As a matter of fact, I used it as a serum, and then used my other moisturizers on top of it. It can't be used as a stand-alone product, my skin felt too dry, especially in the wintertime. Their site recommends that you add your moisturizer to it. It's a serum and opens the skin for other nourishment. But does it work as the best serum? I don't think so. There are many other products on the market that give you a glow. There are many other products on the market that address issues specifically at a less costly price point. To be fair, there are some good ingredients in ELNR, like olive oil, hyaluronic acid, gram-positive bacteria (like the kind found in your digestive system), vitamin B5 and peptides. On the negative side, it has three colorants, fragrance, preservative and alcohol. I don't think my skin needs fragrance, preservatives, added colorants or the negative alcohol. I'd rather use a much purer product. I recently found out that Estee Lauder does test on animals and they are not cruelty-free. They do test on animals in other countries since other countries allow their factories to do that. Since that information has become publicly known, I will no longer support any product of Estee Lauder, and that includes Clinique, who also tests on animals. I just can't see putting anything on my skin at the cruelty of another animal suffering. Besides, skincare products should be tested on humans, since human skin is where it will ultimately be used. Matter of fact, when I found out this information, I returned my products to my local Macy's counter immediately and told them why I was returning them. I just couldn't justify giving this company my money to torture animals for my expense.

Having very troubled skin with acne and oily skin, I am finally happy with this product. It makes my skin soft and supple, not oily and keep acne away. Will be a staple product for me. And also I use Atralin for every 3 days. Along with both products I always want to apply Cetaphil moisturizer as well.
I first got a small sample of this from a kit and used it for about a month. I definitely see improvements in the condition of my skin. It is smoother and scars fade quite quickly. I then purchased the full size bottle and I have to say it does not disappoint.
I now wake up with a glow and have noticed that the hormonal break outs heal much faster than before. The small lines used to form on my forehead are almost all gone by now. My face is also fully hydrated against the harsh winter here. This is definitely a well-worth product although the price is a bit steep.
The dropper design is very nice and I believe a bottle could last me quite a while.
Good product , but over rated and over priced. This has been around for years, probably the original serum, so just about everybody had it.But now it has competition. The Paula's choice serums and Olay regenerist are far cheaper and far superior in my opinion.I asked the lady on the Estee Lauder counter if this could be used around eyes. She said no,the company has creams especially for eyes. To me this is a nonsense. We shouldn't have to buy seperate for eyes. All of Paula's serums are recommended for eyes as is the Olay one.Save your money, this is nothing special. I might buy this again if it were half the price.
Love this product (I remember about 20 years ago, my mum used this as well but the bottle was glass but now it's plastic so I'm a bit bummed about that =P). I live in a very dry area and have always had issues with flaking skin on my cheeks. Since using this, theres no dryness but my T-zone hasn't gotten any oilier which is great. I think my breakouts during the time of the month aren't as bad either :)))))))) The only thing that gets me is the smell, it smells weeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrd compared to other EL products as they are usually very perfumey.
The product dried out my skin even after I applied moisturizer over it, made my pores look worse, and caused pimples. From reading all the raves, it works for some with sensitive skin, but not for sensitive types like me. The only positive point about the serum is that it did make my skin (oily with surface dryness) oilier. I'll stick with just a moisturizer.
In the past I have snubbed Estee Lauder products opting for French brands. I have bought this product after seeing how much awards this product has won. It does make the skin glow after a couple of uses and has minimised my fine lines especially those pesky nasolabial ones. What I am not keen about is the preservative ingredients such as bht.
I cannot believe how smooth my skin looks.. it was the first time in years that i did not need a full face, maximum coverage foundation! I used this for two weeks...yep, already saw results! Since becoming a mother, working night shift from the beginning of my career AND using tretinoin/hydroquinone without proper sun protection as a runner back in my teens (yes i was a stupid little girl who abused it, thought i was doing something good and now i am paying for it!), all this resulted in my weird, break-out prone, oily, crazy skin with fine lines starting to creep up my eye bags! i dry up like a raisin in the winter and slather all these moisturizers and then break out in the summer...i get cystic acne all over my chin and i can make enough oil to sell in the Texas industry! So as i attempted to reverse the damage and re-do my regimen, I spent so much money on products i was not happy with.. Arcona, Caudalie, Somme, FAB, PTR, Dr. Hauschka, Korres..to name a few..This tiny serum that i snatched up RANDOMLY on a black friday sale at the CCO cleared up my skin in record time, smoothed the pesky wrinkles under my eyes, AND healed up a large pile of cystic pimples around my jaw/chin area! I was skeptical of course, looking at myself in the mirror after working 12 hrs, sleeping 4 and having look like i had a facial overnight... more refined, plump and when i run my hands around my face, i don't feel those miniscule bumps that you know will become full fledged pimples! Now i can finally put away my heavy duty war-paint :D
UPDATE: This along with Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol have been my HG for the last three months... i cannot believe my skin! it looks like i have a facialist on speed dial! my hyper-pigmentation has gone away, it is smooth and luminescent.. AND i rarely have any pimples (except one or two SMALL ones during that time of the month). I know it is pricey but i combine both serums with equal drops and smooth it on day and night. My routine now is using Dr. DG alpha beta peel pads, this and ferulic serum, then NIA24 SSC. I also have been meticulously using my shiseido sunscreen over this and can get away with just powder.
UPDATE: it has been 11 months and I still use it! I now double cleanse with a hot cloth cleanser, apply Dr. DG alpha beta pads, this serum, DDG ferulic serum, hyaluronic acid gel and NIA SSC.My skin clarity has maintained with occasional chin breakouts.
When i turned 28, 3 years ago, i've been a faithful user of anti aging night serums eversince. I've tried many brands, dermalogica (i'm still using the whole set of this skincare), sk2, kiehls etc... Last month when i finished up my bottle of dermalogica's age smart overnight repair serum (which i considered ok,so-so) i decided to try out ANR... Surprisingly, the first time i tried it, i woke up with a glowing, smooth and my pores is less visible!!! Since i'm very impressed with the result, i tried using it in the morning, however i noticed a zit on my chin after i got back from my work... So, i decided to apply it only during nighttime... The next day, when i woke up, the zit is already subsided and dried up...
After about a month using, my skin still looks better each day and am so glad that my old acne scars is fading, together with the reduced pore sizes... I'm really thankful that i've decided to buy this product after reading sooo many raving reviews about it in MUA... But i regretted why didn't i do sooner!! I have wasted sooo much money on other expensive night serums which didnt really give clear results as ANR and i believe ANR is really worth every dollar spent... I even put a tiny dots of it under my eyes before sleep and it solves my dry skin prob under the eyes... I definitely going to purchase this ANR serum again and again and again until i die...
This is my first ever review on mua - just to say that this really has made a difference in my skin :-O I'm not the type to write reviews but gonna start for the few that have made a difference for me - this, Clarisonic and YSL Matte Touch Radiant Base (blue tube). Been using this one for a month now - I always get pretty bad acne during that time of the month and this has really controlled it - as well as brighten my face and soften the tiny eye lines I began seeing ;( Definitely always buying again :D
