I LOVE this eyeliner! My friend suggested that I buy this one, so I tried it and it's very creamy, VERY black (which is hard to find usually) and does a very nice look!!! I wear it almost everyday! The only thing that I don't like is that it tends to smudge and especially when I put the eyeliner on my waterline, it doesn't stay all day! But overall, I love it anyways!!
I wear liquid liner on my top lid, and like a really sooty black line on the underneath to sort of match it, so this pencil is a godsend to me. The texture is really great and glides right on, even on the waterline, and the black is really intense. I took off one lipstick because it does smudge or run halfway through the day, but I will try UD's 247 liner next if the reviewer below feels it is similar but better.
I keep buying "liquid pencils", and one day I'll learn to stick with Urban Decay's 24/7 liners. This made my eyes tingle, like there's a cold wind blowing in them, and it lasts even after I wipe the makeup off. It smudges and doesn't last very long, so even if it didn't irritate my eyes I wouldn't buy it again. The Liquif'Eye pencils by Milani also irritate my eyes, but only if I use them on my waterline, and those don't smudge to easily. This tingled from the second I put it on my top lid, and my eyes felt cold and almost burning for hours.
I don't know what these eyeliners have that Urban Decay's don't, since I can slather that on with no irritation. But after bad experiences with Milani and L'Oreal I'm giving up, I could have bought a high end liner by now. I'm probably going to try to return this, otherwise it's going in the trash.
This is the worst thing to sharpen ever. If you want a point under an inch in diameter, leave this product alone because it will not sharpen past a dull mound. Like trying to sharpen a stick of butter. Even sticking it in the freezer didn't help. Such a shame, too, since the formula is so nice.

All I have to say is wow! This eyeliner glides so smooth I had to adjust to using it when I first bought it. I bought it in carbon black, and it is extremely dark and pigmented! I can use this on my waterline and it will not smudge during the day. I also use the smudge-end to soften up the lines because it creates a very bold lining. I wear eyeliner every single day and it is one of the most important things in creating the looks I like, and I would definitely buy this again in the future!

I've bought this numerous times and I adore it. The color is what I've always been looking for (super dark black) and it glides on like a dream. I love that it has a smudger attached. I use this for the lid and inside the waterline and it does not make my eyes water at all. The only thing is that it doesn't make nice 'points' for cat eyes/tails so you have to use a brush and a gel liner or liquid for that effect. But I don't mind because liners that you can sharpen that finely usually are hard and poke me and I still use a brush or liquid to achieve that really crisp tail anyway. I also think this liner LASTS! I put it on before a night out and though I almost always touch up, with some liners it is a MUST. This one you don't have to and still will look great all night long. A beauty fave! (My only bad luck is that I lose them before I run of it! I don't think I've ever finished one completely lol. And I've bought it many times!) continued >>
This is by far the BEST drugstore eyeliner I've ever seen. These are so comparable to Urban Decay's eyeliners. They're insanely creamy, have excellent color payoff, and I have zero tugging issues, which I usually encounter with drugstore eyeliners. I did have a little issue with smudging on the outer corners of my eyes, but it's allergy season and my eyes are always watering. Very impressive, and a great value for the price.

If you want the intense, smudge-free look of a liquid eyeliner, but don't have the patience or steady hand required to apply it, or if you're tired of getting raccoon or even panda eyes by the end of the day with regular eyeliner, this is the perfect eyeliner for you. This is basically a liquid eyeliner in pencil form, so you have the best of both worlds. Here are the pros: (1) it's very creamy, gel-like, and glides without any pulling or tugging; (2) once it sets, it has remarkable, if not frightening, staying power (I tested it out on my hand a few times, and couldn't get it off with soap and water); and (3) the color is super intense (the black is more carbon or onyx than your typical black eyeliner, and even the gray and brown are more like charcoal and espresso). Now for the cons: (1) it tends to flake off, so you might suddenly find yourself with annoying flecks of black eyeliner on your undereye area; (2) if you get it on your eyelashes, which is unavoidable, it tends to clump and harden your lashes like mascara does; (3) if you wear contacts and you get bits of the eyeliner in your eyes, you sometimes end up with a stubborn, waxy, protein deposit-like film on your contacts that blurs your vision (the trick is not to apply the eyeliner too close to your lashes, but even then, just blinking alone can introduce particles of the eyeliner into your eyes). I'm not sure why some people have a hard time sharpening this eyeliner. I use a regular eyeliner sharpener by L'Oreal, and haven't had any problems (I sharpen it each and every time I use it). The only thing I can think of is that the product is very creamy, so it can clog up your sharpener quickly. When that happens, your sharpener won't work properly. Also, I've noticed that certain batches are softer than others, as if they were out in the sun for too long. If you don't want to bother sharpening your eyeliner, a good alternative to this product is Clinique's Quickliner for Eyes Intense, which is a mechanical eyeliner that will give you the same intense, smudge-free finish. The only drawback to that product is that it doesn't have a very fine point and you can't sharpen it.
Summary: Despite the cons, I think this is the best drugstore eyeliner. It's even better than most department store eyeliners I've tried.

Just adding to the raves! I am crazy about the color and texture, and now they have added a little smudging tool to the other end. I keep buying the brown, which is just the best, smoothest, deepest brown ever. Also, I just read the great "put it in the freezer for three minutes before sharpening" tip, and I expect that will take care of the only con. Thanks, Makeup Alley!

I got this eyeliner after reading so many good reviews. I really wanted to love it.
Pros
*Super black (I got the carbon black)
*Glides on smoothly, beautiful texture
Cons
*Like many reviewers here, it made my eyes water all day! It didn't make them red, or itchy, or blurry, but just constant watery teary glossy eyes. I was surprised, however, that even with the all the wateriness, it still managed to somewhat stay put more than other liners. I find my eyes water less if only applied on the top lash line. I've never had this happen to my eyes so I definitely wouldn't consider myself having sensitive eyes.
It just wasn't worth it for me. I'm hoping I still have the receipt so I can return it.
