Having never tried any E.L.F. products before, I was at Big Lots and saw packs of these mineral eyeshadows. There were 3 different groupings. Each set contained 2 eyeshadows and a brush for $4.50. The only thing I've ever know about E.L.F. is that it's supposed to be super cheap (most of their products are $1) but exceptionally good despite the low price.
These eyeshadows are AMAZING!!!! I was expecting some powdery, barely pigmented eyeshadow that would crease quickly. These shadows are a perfect alternative if Bare Escentuals is too high-priced for you. Great colors, long lasting, colors didn't crease after 5+ hours of wear, and the brush I got is really nice!!!
I'm definitely going to go back and buy the other color sets I saw.
I got a chance to try these when they went on sale at Target. I got the kit in the smoky colors with 2 shadows and the mineral eye brush. These shadows definitely are shimmery. So pretty though! I used a cream shadow underneath as a primer. The shadow goes on smooth and stayed on all day. The colors are gorgeous. Overall great value!
You can use this product wet or dry to enhance the colour. Beautiful colours, they last all day with a primer!
I got ten of these shadows, because for a limited time, if I purchased $30 or more of e.l.f. products, 10 mineral eye shadows were given free. Without the coupon, these shadows are $3 each. The packaging is very sleek, and comparable to that of Bare Essentials eye shadows. As far as the actual shadows go, they are very shimmery, so if you're going for a more matte look, these aren't for you. They do have a few matte colors, though, but I haven't tried those. I guess my biggest complaint with these shadows is that the color was misrepresented on the website, as it is with most of their products. I also noticed that the shadows aren't super pigmented. I think the color is meant to be built up, so that there is the option of wearing it sheer, or layering it for color. I saw that quite a few people complained about how the shadow creases, or how it does not last all day. I used the e.l.f. eyelid primer, and didn't have those problems. Overall, these shadows are a decent product, and hey, they were free. :)
I have several of these. Yes, they are very shimmery, but pretty. Very comparable to more expensive mineral shadows. I find best results using a cream eyeshadow as a base (like their Studio palette of shimmers) and applying with fingertips, then blending with a brush. A brush alone just sends it flying everywhere.
I have 11 of these! "sassy" is by far my favorite! It's a deep bronze with red tones in it, perfect for my green eyes. I love these!!! I got 10 for free with a deal from elf and I was shocked at how I actually liked them. These are my favorite mineral shadows and yeah... try them! They are great! (especially if you like shimmer!)
For $3, E.L.F's mineral eyeshadows are a pretty good buy. I own four of them (Celebrity, Golden, Elegant, and Angelic) and they all seem to work fine for me. The only downside that I've noticed is that the color will fade a little, even with a primer underneath. But, I find this to be an affordable eyeshadow that I will repurchase again and again.
TERRIBLE!!!! I bought 12 mineral shadouws...some matte some shimmer....i hate them ALL....I am unable to use them. I've tried to use them over primer lotion, paint pots... u name it i've tried it. The shimmery shadows are not very pigmented at all...the color sheers out to just a shimmer and even then the shimmer ends up all over your face. The matte shadows are just as bad...no pigment what so ever. I've tried to use them alone..together..along with shadows from other brands with no success. The only use i've found for them was to use them as glitter for my nieces are projects...lol sad but true.
I have every color. I got them during a half off sale. They are just as nice as the 64 Bare Escentuals colors I have. It's nice to have a less expensive alternative for using on clients. They don't have nearly the selection of BE, but there are some really nice colors. Earthy is the best.
I layer and blend, then layer some more, and they are gorgeous. I either use MAC paint in Bare Canvas as a base, or Urban Decay primer, and they both work well with mineral shadows. I would definitely buy these again. And again.
This is alright, pretty colors. But SO messy! At first when I heard about how messy they were, I shrugged it off thinking I could clean it up. But no. Its not only messy where your applying it, but on your face as well! Horrible! It doesnt stay on your lid! It flys all over the place!
I wouldnt buy this again, it lasts forever anyways. Cute packaging and everything, but if this is your first time buying them, only buy one or two to see what you think. I happened to get 10 for free, so I gave most of them away!
