This worked pretty well, I was only able to use this at night and only every other day because it did irritate my skin if I used it more often and it did make my skin red. By the morning though it had calmed down and my skin was soft with no flakes!! All in all it is a pretty good treatment for exfoliating the skin.

I started using this product on Sunday & it's Weds, but I'm already seeing the difference! My skin is smoother, a lot more soft, & I'm noticing a difference in my tone already as well! I didn't find the product hard to wash off, but I cup my hands, fill them w/water, then splash it on my face - I *never* rub @ it. I've found it rubs against my skin too much when I "rub", so I "splash" instead of "rub". After that, I use a light face wash (Chanel) to rinse any "excess", then apply a high quality moisturizer (Chanel's moisturizing night cream). In the morning, I use my Chanel facewash again, then use their SPF moisturizing day cream. So far, so good! I'll update again as my weeks pass. continued >>

I bought this on a whim because I noticed that my skin texture and color was really rough and uneven. I've been using it for 5 days now. I have oily, acne-prone skin and I use the lower vibration mode. (there are 2 vibration levels you can choose from)
The hand held: fun to use
The cream: heavy. Though you really don't need much to exfoliate. I always have to use my facial cleanser to wash it off after. If not, it will break me out. I tried washing it off once w/out using my cleanser and voila, I had a few zits popping up the next day.
I also use a cotton pad and wipe my face with toner, and then apply a light moisturizer, and then my benzyl peroxide.
The result: Definitely brighter, more even skin tone. The microdermabrasion makes my acne medicine works faster. Probably because the dead skin cells are out of the way. I don't know if I want to repurchase this again but I do like how it's helping my skin. It's not holy grail or anything though. I'll probably update in the next 5 days and see if my skin has dramatically improve. continued >>

This product works very well to smooth my face without irritation despite my rosacea, seb derm and adult acne. I did not find the cream to be greasy at all - but it definitely did not strip my skin and give it that rubbery feel.
However, if you decide to use it please be very careful to get every bit of the cream splashed off (don't rub it off by hand or towel) - particularly eyelashes, eye brows and your hairline or you'll end up at the eye doctor like I did:
About 4 a.m. today I awoke with pain in one eye and the feeling that something was in it. After checking a lighted magnifying mirror and finding nothing, I sat around with water running out, then was at the eye dr at 8 when his office opened.
The eye dr removed from under the upper lid one of the small round particles that are in the cream. He said he has a case like this about every 6 weeks since home microdermabrasion became popular.
To avoid this, do a very thorough splashing (not rubbing!) of the face to remove the cream THEN rub your eyebrows, edges of your hairline around your face and your eyelashes to make sure none of the tiny beads are left. One was left somewhere on my face and then in the night ended up in my eye. The old scrubs sometimes had particles that dissolved but these DON'T.
I use this product a few times a week, a low dose oral antibiotic, Elidel prescrip cream on flaky seb derm areas as needed, TNS Recovery complex before bedtime and Skinceuticals' C E Ferulic serum each a.m. before foundation. I always use a foundation with UVA AND UVB sunscreen.

I didn't like it at all. The kit contained a vibarating sponge to help it take off your dead skin. It wasn't hard to put together or on but I felt like it was just to thin of a solution. Also I thought it rotated not vibrated. So I was disappointed there. It was SO hard to wash off! And afterwards I didn't see any results with my skin. It felt smoother but it also felt very greasy. I didn't like the feel of my skin at all. I washed my face like 4 times with in a few hours trying to get the feeling off. I returned it. I bought this thinking it was $19.00 as said on the sticker, but upon returning it I was suprised I actually paid 33.00 for it. The OLAY microdermabrasion is A WHOLE LOT BETTER AND A LOT CHEAPER! I noticed a big difference after using OLAY!

Overall, I enjoy this product. I've been using it for about a 10 months and I am certainly a fan. I use it twice a week before I go to bed and I wake up with skin looking so fresh and smooth!! I feel like it exfoliates very well, and that's what it does best. It slightly has reduced the appearence of my ance scars overtime, I think. My biggest problem with this is that the cream is SO HARD to wash off!! It has a sandy-texture to help remove dead skin cells...but I find it difficult to remove it all, even after rubbing my face with a wet wash cloth.

i have been using this product (not religiously, though) for a couple months now and i really like that the product makes your skin significantly softer after you use it. i read a comment a reviewer made that she experienced breakouts after using it- i also had this problem...so i did a little research. since the microdermabrasion is stimulating new growth of your skin cells, the dead cells above it have to go somewhere...if they are not exfoliated off, your pores can clog contributing to breakouts. i found that if i used a peel twice a week, this helped remove those dead cells and significantly reduced breakouts. also, i would recommend changing the sponges out frequently to prevent breakouts.
i rated the packaging quality mediocre because i think there should be a case or something to keep the entire kit together.

Well at first I really liked this, but after waiting a week of not using it (like it says in the instructions) and then starting it up again I noticed some problems. First, it is heavy;after washing it off my skin felt greasy. Also it made my face really red even when I used it very lightly. I also started seeing all of these little bumps on my face, they weren't pimples but just a bunch of little bumps. Out of Oil of Olay, Neutrogena, and Loreal, I would say that Loreal is the best. If you are going to buy a microderm kit I would go with Loreal, don't waste your money on this.

I like using this system, my skin feels really soft and smooth afterwards, but my skin starts to break out (clogged pores, etc.) from it. It must be something in the dermabrasion cream. I would like to try another brand of cream and see how that works.

I love it. I feel that it has improved the look of the size of my pores, helped a little with controlling oil production, helps a little with controlling blackheads, and gets rid of any flakies. It just seems to improve the overall appearance of the skin. It also speeds up the healing of post-acne redness, and seems to also speed up the healing of actual breakouts (but go gentle so as not to further irritate those areas). I have been using this over a month and my skin has gotten better and better.

I had a problem with this product that I haven't seen mentioned here. I started on the sensitive skin regime, using the product only on my nose and forehead. My skin immediately felt very smooth. By the second week (when you take a break from the product), the skin on those two areas started to flake/peel like mad - stubborn flaking that I couldn't cover up even with moisturizer - I could still see the flakes underneath. Strangely, the skin still felt smooth, but looked flakey. I started using the product again in week 3, as per instructions, thinking that would take care of the flakes. Wrong - the flaking/peeling continued. It was so bad I was embarrassed that people might notice. So I stopped the product after about 4 weeks. Maybe I gave up too soon? Anyways, to me this was a waste of time and $. I gave it 2 lippies and not 1, b/c I found the experience of using the product enjoyable - the massaging action and the lightly scented cream felt nice, like a mini facial at the end of the day.

In the long run, I think the only thing I like about this product is the face tool. It gives a good massage, which helps the skin feel energized and circulated. I don't care for the exfoliating cream though; as others have said, it seems too heavy. I think you can get better results with other massaging products. Probably don't want to waste your money on this. I still always go back to apricot scrub, buff puff, or a facial brush.

This leaves my skin silky smooth but makes me break out like mad! I tried it half a dozen times in hopes that my skin was "purging". Unfortunately it wasn't-- I think it's just too rich and pore-clogging for my combo sensitive skin. Would be great for someone less reactive however.

I wanted this for a long time before I got it because of the price, I thought that $30 was too much to explain to my DH! But, when the end of the year came and we had money leftover in our flexible spending account, I found out that skincare products qualify as medical products, so I got a kit to try. I followed the directions, using it a week and stopping the second week for skin to adjust, and the second week I did have breakouts, but I tend to have breakouts around my chin occasionally, so it didn't make me want to stop using it. I like the way it makes my skin feel, I guess I have been using it for about 4 weeks now, and am hoping for more evening out of sun spots I have. It is very good, though, seeing as how I can't afford professional treatments. I need to get a before and after pic posted, I will try to do that soon! Brenda

I only bought the refill. I did not buy the "system". I was hoping this could replace my wonderful-but-expensive Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion in a Jar. The similarities: both contain fine aluminum oxide particles in a cream base. But then come the differences.
The cream base in the Neutrogena microdermabrasion is much heavier and greasier than the Dr. Brandt cream. I have to wash my face again just to clean the Neutrogena off. I think it would break me out if I didn't remove every trace of it. This isn't as effective at removing dead skin as the Dr. Brandt, either. I'm not sure why. Finally, this stuff has a very unpleasant smell. Even for those who aren't crazy about the synthetic Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion lemon smell, this Neutrogena might make them think the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion smells like heaven on earth. Of course, another difference between this and Dr. Brandt: this Neutrogena 2.5 oz. refill jar costs only $18.00 versus Dr. Brandt's $75.00 for 2.12 oz. Ultimately, though, you get what you pay for, and I would not likely purchase this again, unless my budget absolutely forced me to. I dread using it, because I know I will have to wash my face, dry my face, apply this, massage it in while trying not to breathe in the odor, rinse my face, then wash my face all over again, maybe even twice. I believe this is far superior, say, to St. Ives Apricot Scrub. If I had only ever used St. Ives, I would likely think this was HG material. Because I have used so many scrubs, I know this is definitely not the best, but not the worst. A look at the ingredients list reveals triglycerides (fats) and oils as major ingredients, so this accounts for the greasiness.

Wow, there are a lot of mixed reviews. But then again I think there will always be good and bad depending on each person. Here's mine anyways - I purchased the product because I was told microdermabraision is the only treatment that could help me. So, finding this was a good thing.
My skin has improved dramatically. However, I don't think it's just because of this. I have created a unique skin regimen for myself and I think this has been a great part of why my skin is better. After first use you can see a difference right away. Now after a weeks use my face feels smoother and looks a lot healthier. I would suggest this to anyone.
Regarding breakouts. I was told by a facialist who suggested this system not to use it during breakouts or when there are open sores, or sensitive pimples as it would cause problems. This is not only for this particular system, but for any microdermabraision system.

I have problems with my cheeks, you see; they are very dry to the extent where they are almost "flaking" off. I saw this on sale at SDM and paid about $45? The first time I used it, it was okay (thought the vibrating sensation is something to get use to) but I expected it to rotate. Anywho, my skin glowed, and my dry patched were almost gone! I started to see problems after the second and third time - I began to have many MANY bumps all over my cheeks. I stopped and waited about one week for them to go away. As soon as I started this "microdermabrasion" again I broke out. No way I'd touch it again!

Beware this product if you have acne (and see acne.org on the perils of overcleaning). I began using it and within two days my chin had sprouted cysts the size and number of which I had never seen before...even during high school! A friend of mine encouraged me to keep going (this was just my skin adjusting, you see) and so, masochist that I am, I did. By the end of the recommended initial five days of continuous use, I had cysts on my cheeks as well (which I'd never had before). Not only that but my skin was burning and dry dry dry, even with moisturizer. I want to stress that I used the product as recommended, at the duration recommended, and at the intensity level recommended; the monstrous results I achieved were the results of normal use of this product, which means it my simply be too harsh a routine for someone with acne.
That said, this product makes a great treatment for hand "facials" and pedicures.

I am cystic acne prone. I was on Accutane for 3 mos, but I stopped (foolish me). Anyhow, I had begun seeing a dermatologist for laser and microdermabrasion. I was getting great results but it was getting to be too expensive. I wanted to save money and I had good results with L’oreal. This product was a nightmare. I developed tiny bumps under my skin. They got so bad-- I had to go back to a skincare specialist. What a total waste--- to save a few bucks--I wound up having to go back and start all over again.

Like effects of this product. It really works to exfoliate and helps with clogged pores and my mild adult acne. The only thing I don't care for is the storage of the applicator and sponges. I always feel that in the open air it is a bit unsanitary.
Otherwise, I love the cream and the way it makes my skin feel afterwards. It moisturizes as well as exfoliates. I love the scent also. I haven't had trouble washing off the cream or the crystals.
Overall, I plan on continuing usage until I hear of something better or until professional treatments don't break the bank.
