There are many flaws with this eyeliner. It's lacking pigmentation so that you have to go over the same area more than once to get it dark enough. The jumbo tip is too big to easily create wings. The formula smudges underneath my eyes as the day progresses. The whole reason I even wear liquid eyeliner (as opposed to pencil or gel) is because it doesn't usually smudge! The only thing I like about this eyeliner is that the stiff felt tip makes it easy to tightline.
I got this on sale from CVS for $4...& yet I'd still prefer to return it. The black ink isn't dark enough, it's difficult to navigate around my thick lashes, & it smudged within an hour here in the hot, humid, state of TX. I would not repurchase.
I bought this on a whim during a mega CVS sale and have used it every day since. The liner tip makes drawing a near perfect cat eye effortless...something I could not as easily achieve with gel and a brush. Plus, my eyelashes have gotten noticeably longer, which is completely unexpected (I'm a huge product skeptic).
UPDATE: I'm a dummy...the product I own is not the felt tip version, but the liquid one in the skinny silver tube. Buy that one!
This is a great liquid eyeliner. Somehow the pen format actually does exactly what it should do - delivers the perfect amount of even liquid eyeliner every time. I don't really know if it boosts lash growth as I only use it once every week or so, but it's a fantastic liquid liner and a good price. I have this in brown and am planning to purchase it in black as well. Very versatile, great product.
I love how easy this liner is to use. I can easily draw a nice line along my lashes & either leave it a nice thick black line or smudge it with a liner brush to make it look softer. I bought the Ultra Black & was afraid that it would be too harsh on me for every day wear, but I love it. I've only been using it for a week, so I don't know about the Lash Boosting Serum claims, but it's a wonderful eyeliner. It stays on all day without smudging or smearing, but it is not even water resistant. Any tearing of the eyes or splashes of water will remove it. I love it so much that I bought the Dark Brown & the Smokey Grey, but when tested on my hand the brown & grey are so dark that I don't see much difference from my Ultra Black. Brown may look a touch warmer in tone.
I've been using this for about a month, now. I don't use it everyday, but very frequently & my lashes are looking fuller & healthier!
My local drugstore didn't have the smaller version, so I picked this one up to try. First off, the formula isn't too pigmented, so you do have to go over the line a couple of times to get a nice black. I still had to apply some black shadow on top to mask bits where skin showed through.
The tip is nice and fine, but the giant nub makes it hard to use the pen in any position other than straight up and down, since the shaft can leave smudges. The liner stays really well though, especially since I have super oily, hooded lids with a tiny crease right where I put liner. I got caught in the rain today as well, and it didn't run or anything.
I won't buy it again just because it takes too long to get a solid line (draw, wait, dry, draw again) and the nub is too annoying to use.
I'm a huge fan of the regular eye booster liquid liner, so decided to try out the felt tip version. This version really fails in comparison, it smudges and and runs on me. I appreciate how much more control I have because of the felt tip, but it's not worth it if I have to constantly touch up my eye makeup every 2-3 hours.
Update 7-31-2012: I've been using this daily to just use it so I don't feel bad about throwing it away. It is still awful, maybe even worse. I smudge within 2 hours of wear and it just transfers all over my lid and ruins my eyeshadow. I regret buying this 100%, if I could give this zero lippies, I would.
I don't really know if Physicians Formula's claim for their last booster is effective. I bought this mainly because of the felt tip applicator. It dries fast when applied. This is great for precision application, great for wing eye. I am amazed by the staying power, it doesnt wear off easily. This is my new favorite liner!
When I first saw this liner at Wal-Mart I passed on it because I thought there was no way such a huge tip could work without making a giant mess all over my lidÖ.but I was wrong. I ended up getting it at CVS because their stock of these liners had rebate stickers on them to get the liner for free; so I figured what the heck. I was using the original 2 in 1 lash boosting liner Physicianís Formula came out with over a year ago that has the fine brush tip and I really like it but I like this one with the big felt tip better. I have both is ultra black but I think the brush tip liner isnít as black; it goes on more sheer and I have to go over the line a few times to get the darkness that I like. Plus, I have issues with the brush tip version flaking like a mother; I think itís because I have to layer it. However, the felt tip version is amazing; goes on super opaque black and no flaking. Even though the tip on this liner is big I can still get a super thin line or make it really thick. Also, I rarely go a day without winged/cat liner and this liner is fantastic for it; I might say itís the best liner Iíve found for doing a cat eye. I canít speak for the lash boosting part of this product yet as I have only been using it for 5 days but I will update this review after some time has passed.
So I bought this expecting to make eyeliner a little easier to do in the morning, not so much expecting for my lashes to actually grow. It is not quite as easy as I thought it would be to use, but once you figure out the right technique, its great! Lasting power is not as great as some liners, it tends to crease towards the end of the day which is disappointing. You need 2 coats to get a thick, black line. Makes wings a teeny bit easy with a more precise application. NOW, onto the good stuff: Idk if it is just me going crazy, but I actually have noticed a difference in my lashes! They do look fuller and healthier than usual! :D So although this liner isnt great for lasting power, it does make my lashes look great!
