After complaining about the plethora of harsh cleansers that are out there for oily complexions, a friend referred me to Cetaphil - which she swore by to maintain her sensitive and combination skin. I thought it was going to be perfect, and for a while, it seemed that it was. It felt so smooth and almost creamy going on, it washed away so easily, and my skin felt very soft. I used it for a while, even though I was still breaking out and getting blackheads - I just assumed that my skin was picking up dirt from busy day. Oh, I was so wrong! When I started using toner after the Cetaphil, I was shocked to see how much makeup and grime was left on my face! Yes, Cetaphil is gentle and doesn't strip natural moisture from your face, but it doesn't really get rid of the grime that is there, either. DO NOT rely on this to remove your makeup; I certainly won't rely on this to clean my oily skin properly any more.

After running out of Aquanil (my HG cleanser) while on vacation, I decided to pick up a bottle of Cetaphil, thinking that it would be close to the same thing. Consistancy-wise, it was- but unlike Aquanil, this stuff burned around the outside of my eyes like crazy! (I use Aquanil to remove my eye-makeup daily) Needless to say- I went on a search for my Aquanil the next day, and the Cetaphil went in the trash can.

This is a great gentle cleanser/makeup remover. I love it becaus eit doesnt break out my acne prone skin and its not drying at all. every other face wash strips my skin completely of its natural oils, but this one leaves my skin soft and smooth. I dont even need to moisturize after using this. its perfect for when you dont want that 'just washed face icky feeling'

A really great product for an really great price... no breaking the bank.
That's a God-send.
I love using this product to get my face ultra clean -- and since my skin is so sensitive this stuff works wonders for it...
It's a staple in my bathroom.

Good general cleanser, but not a makeup remover. I use it after my makeup remover to make sure my skin is totally clean. Smells like nothing, can't beat the price.

This is best suited as a morning cleanser, becuase it wont take off your makeup if you use it at night.
I think this works really well in the morning, cleans my skin and keeps it soft and supple. Very gentle. Doesn't cause breakouts on my acne prone combo skin.
Although it does its job, I probably wont buy it again just because the packaging is ugly and I wish it was nicer to look at. :)

Yeah, you can't go wrong with Cetaphil. I have combo skin and I like to use this w/o water---just wipe off with a tissue. It makes my skin baby soft but not sticky or greasy. I don't use everyday b/c I can get oily and need more cleansing power sometimes. There is a reason why most love Cetaphil. It's simple and pure and works.

This is a great cleanser. I have sensitive dry skin prone to hormonal break outs and I find that this cleans and calms my skin down immensely. Before this I was just splashing my face with water as to not aggravate it but this is even better as it soothes redness without leaving me with additional break outs. Also love the pump with the larger sizes, which I recommend getting as it is much more economical.

I really liked that this product is so gentle on the face, but it was a little too gentle for me. I have oily acne prone skin and I thought that if I used this product it would help because it would allow my skin to retain moisture. But it didn't clean my skin completly and I think it made me break out even more. This would be better for someone who doesn't have such oily skin. It also leaves the a layer of cetaphil on your face after you cleanse which made my skin feel like it couldn't breath. I switched back to my old cleanser, clearasil, and am using a moisturizing toner afterwards and my skin feels much cleaner.
