I really wanted to like this compact: it feels light, it covers well, and the finish is superb - I look like I really have great skin (my skin is ok, but this powder makes it so luminous) BUT the color is SO off, and none of the other shades matched me well either. Extremely chalky on me so I returned it. (Should have known better not to stray from my trusted Laura Mercier Mineral Finishing Powder). Not repurchasing (unless they come up with better shade selections)
I'm really torn about this product. Every review I've read/heard has said how creamy this is and how it gives the most perfect coverage/finish. I don't know if I just got a bad one, but I expected it to be much creamier...mine is pretty dry/chalky and I have to swipe my kabuki brush in it a couple times just to pick up some product. I will agree that this gives a nice finish, it looks natural on my skin but gives it a more flawless look, but it does not provide any coverage, so if you're looking for that, I'd pass on this. I have dry skin, but my t-zone (mostly nose) still gets shiny. Shiny, not oily. I like to cover up the shine, and this does not do that since it kind of adds a glow. I use this on my cheeks, chin, and forehead and use Maybelline Dream Matte Powder (my favorite) on my nose and anywhere else that gets shiny. I don't think I'd repurchase if I ever run out because for the price, it's not that great.
This product gives your skin a very healthy, pretty glow.
My mom uses this on her dry skin and it really makes her look 5 years younger! Evens out skin tone, covers any redness and gives a very healthy look to the complexion.
I decided to try it, I buffed it over my usual foundation/concealer to set. It looked really nice for most of the day. Then my oily skin started to feel quite slick, and my blemishes became cakey looking because my concealer was melting off. Eep, it really made me produce a lot of oil.
I definitely won't use it again; but I very highly recommend this to those with dry skin!
I do think it is a bit expensive but it is a high quality product.
I am not even going to comment on the color because I know that light will actually match my NC15 skin tone, this was too dark for me (Don't know why the SA gave me medium).
I really like this powder its my favorite. very light and sheer I use it as a setting powder and it does the job. I dnt want to have a caked on face. So this is perfect! Photographs very well. No complaints but the price is a bit steep
I love the finish of this product. It's a satin finish (not shimmery or matte). Very sheer coverage, and can be used as a foundation. I use it as a light foundation on my good-skin days. I can also use it to set my liquid foundation but it tends to cake up my liquid foundation. I use ELF Powder Brush (for more coverage) and works perfect! I also use a fluffy kabuki brush when i want no coverage. This powder makes my skin look very natural and reduces (but not totally covers up) some redness. I do hate the packaging. It's so chunky and flimsy. It looks like it'll break easily. $25 may seem too much to pay for a compact of cheapy looking pressed powder but i think this one is special and unique. I canot find a similar product yet... i love the natural satin finish it gives me.
I use this with a #150 powder brush over my bare minerals original foundation to create a more natural finish. I also use it with an eyeshadow brush and fluffy blender to fix mistakes, blend shadow, and set my under eye concealer. It's a great multi-tasking product that I use everyday.
MSFN is nice, it makes your skin have a 'dewy' look. I have it in Medium Plus, and on my asian skin it looks great. But in terms of using it to set my makeup, I would go instead with the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. Check out my blog for more info.
After trying so many finishing/setting powders and compacts that left my (dry) skin looking cakey/powdery, I thought I was just going to have to settle for that and spray some fix+ to try and blend it all out (an extra step that I didn't need in my routine, which also left some patchiness at times if I wasn't careful enough). Tired of the hassle, I posted on MUA board for recommendations and almost everyone said "MAC MSFN!". I am glad I listened. I set my face with it once a day (over foundation), and that's all I need. I love this stuff! I am NC20"ish", Revlon CS Buff for reference, with olive undertones and I use Medium. If I have any complaint: I only wish it came with a mirror lol. I will be repurchasing for sure!
I spritz my 187 with Fix+ then swirl my brush into this MSFN or else it will get really fricken cakey. I use it to set my SFF (Im NW20) Its not the best... but its ok. I wouldnt buy again since its kind of $$ for what it is. Doesnt provide any coverage on its own.
I like the product but all those with sensitive sKin , stay away from it because it will give u a heavy breakout
