I was surprised by the quality of this powder. I was a bit suspicious of the white colour, I feared I might look like covered in baby talc or four, but the result is amazing and my skin is sooo smooth to touch. The product is a bit messy since it is so finely milled, but I can handle it with due care. I said I would repurchase it but I think it won't be necessary as there's so much of the product and you need to use so little.

Just like MUFE's HD powder! Love it. I use this to set my Benefit Erase Paste on my under eyes. Stays and doesn't crease or get cakey all day. GREAT STUFF

I purchased this during one of their many 50% studio line sales, just to see if it really is comparable to the MUFE HD powder.

I honestly don't see much of a difference in performance, but do believe that the MUFE is more finely milled. With the ELF, I picked up a bit of powder on my kabuki and swirled it on the lid (as I would with MUFE), and noticed little balls of compressed/grainy powder. When I pressed on it with my finger tip, I expected it to collapse or crumble but it didn't---just a rock hard little ball of powder.

Anyway, I don't use this to set my foundation, but rather as a powder primer. I apply this after I've moisturized, and buff it in with a kabuki which gives me a flawless, smooth canvas. I then apply my liquid foundation and the rest of my makeup. There is no gumminess and it does not affect my foundation application whatsoever. I still get great oil control and a primer in one.

Packaging is bulky, but I don't intend to travel with this. I would recommend this for those on a budget, or those wanting to try out a powder primer alternative.

I've only used regular loose powder and pressed powder since I was 17 and this ELF HD powder is the the best out of all!! This makes my skin so smooth and minimize my big pores around my nose and it also controls my oil around the T-zone area. I'd definitely repurchase this!!!

I really like this powder. It blurs imperfections and has a really nice looking finish. It's cheap, and a little bit goes a long way. I usually apply with a stippling brush and just swipe it all over my face. If you use a regular powder brush, you might pick up too much powder. It lasts for a decent amount of time, but I find that I usually need a touch up during a night out. My only real complaint is the horrible packaging. It is bulky and not good for travel at all. Good product overall.

Alright, so, at first, I was not impressed. I used the included puff to apply the powder, and it made me look even more ghostly than usual (not easy, given how pale I naturally am). I stopped using it for awhile and tried other powders (Smashbox Halo, for one, which I liked but is too expensive!). Then I ordered the e.l.f. complexion brush, and decided to give the powder a try again. LOVE. I dip my brush in the powder and tap off the excess (there is a fair amount of powder that gets knocked up in the air, but nothing unreasonable), and lightly swipe it around my face on top of my Alima foundation. One dose of that and my skin stays soft, smooth, and oil-free (for a couple hours, at least)! I recommend waiting for there to be a sale on e.l.f. (there are ofter 50% off deals, or free shipping over a certain amount) before ordering, if only because shipping is $7. Highly recommended!
ETA: I've since switched to Mattify! Ultra loose powder, because it is more effective at controlling oil. I do, however, still like to use this when I'm done applying everything else to set my foundation and want to look extra nice. If you have less oily skin than me, I think you could get by with just this, but for those who are oilier, I suggest combining it with another mattifying product.

Thank you, E.L.F. for creating an awesome setting powder! And for 6 bucks? Yay. The packaging needs improvement, it is too bulky and you'll notice that the container is about halfway full. The puff shouldn't be used with this because you will apply way too much product. If you're not careful, this stuff will get everywhere! The consistency is quite new to me, it is a very very finely milled powder that reminds me of cornstarch. It is super soft to the touch! I lightly dust it all over my face after I apply my foundation a fluffy powder brush.. boy, does it make a difference! My skin is very soft and feels so natural and makeup-free! I'm super oily and this seems to control that for a few hours. Everyone should give this a shot!

I got this powder in the mail yesterday and oh my goodness! I didn't have any makeup on at the time and put it on out of curiosity. I couldn't believe how much better my skin looked--instantly! I am 44, with oily skin that's not so oily anymore. I do, however still have large pores and am getting a few wrinkles. The powder made my skin look silkier and smoother, and my pores were practically invisible. For the sake of everyone reading this, I gave it an overall 5 rating, but some people may not like the fact that they would need to reapply it after 3 to 4 hours, and it would be a little messy and bulky to carry in a purse or makeup bag. In my case neither of these things is an inconvienence. I have not tried the MUFE brand of Hi-Def powder, and probably won't, unless I get a free sample or something that shows me it is better. I will, however repurchase the e.l.f. brand. I can't wait to use it with the Mineral Infused Face Primer and a full face of makeup to see how it performs that way.....I expect to be pleased!

*****Update*****01.26.11

Wore this powder yesterday with the e.l.f. face primer and eyelid primer, and Revlon Photo Ready foundation, and it held up really well, at least 6 to 7 hours on me.

I am quite happy with this product. Though I have MUFE version, I was curious about trying this out. It pretty much does everything my MUFE powder does! This will be a definite repurchase for me. The only reason why I rated 4 for packaging is that though the packaging is sleek, I find it a bit bulky, but that's it!

This stuff is amazing! My face looks flawless after applying this! I don't like the packaging though. Also, don't use the powder puff it comes with, because you'll end up applying too much powder. I use the E.L.F. powder brush. For the price, this stuff is so GOSH DARN AMAZING!
